GREAT CYNICS

Great Cynics are an indie/punk band formed in London. Produced by Peter Miles (The King Blues, We Are The Ocean), their debut album Don’t Need Much was released on London punk rock label Household Name Records in June 2011.

The band have since toured consistently around the UK and the East Coast of America. Notable slots include a UK tour with We Are The Ocean and stints with close friends Crazy Arm and Apologies, I Have None. The band have also played two years running at The Fest in Gainesville, Florida (curated by No Idea Records; headlined by Hot Water Music, Frank Turner, Propagandhi). Recording a Maida Vale session for the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show only months after being a band, they soon followed up with the EP In The Valley in February 2012.

In July 2012 the band returned to Peter Miles’ studio in Devon to record their second full-length album, Like I Belong. A variety of influences from Third Eye Blind, The Lemonheads and Against Me! can be heard, while the album – recorded predominantly live – has a fresh and original home-grown sound.

SINCE MONROE
https://www.facebook.com/sincemonroe/

Born in March 2011 out of a love for the mid 90′s grunge alternative scene, Since Monroe have drawn inspiration from their favourite bands (Nirvana, Weezer, Foo Fighters being the main ones) and have come up with a sound that’ll take people back to the mid 90′s whilst engaging today’s music lovers with their layer of pop over the grunge.

Their debut EP Lost Generation was released on the bands own label and was funded entirely by the band themselves and was critically acclaimed across many music magazines and by bloggers. From being described as ‘tighter than an indie boy’s jeans’ right through to getting thumbs up from reviewers who approve of Since Monroe’s sound. The Birmingham based band are bringing back the alternative dirty grunge song but throwing their own poppy element into the equation to create a sound that is their own with songs which are inspired from all sorts of aspects about society, from love to the X Factor Generation. These boys are doing things their own way with an action packed live show to boot.

BAD APES
https://www.facebook.com/badapes

Describing themselves as ‘the noises empty factories make’, Bad Apes are equal parts shoegaze and terror. Encompassing sounds from Sonic Youth to My Bloody Valentine, the Wolverhampton three-piece effortlessly and energetically bring the sounds of 70’s New York to Birmingham.
