ECLECTIC METHOD

*

Dubbed “the future of nightclub entertainment”, Eclectic Method’s fans read like a ‘ho’s Who’ of musical innovation (Fatboy Slim, Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay to U2). Their unique take on mixing music video and film clips in the same way a DJ mixes records is taking the music world by storm.
*

MTV were quick to recognise Eclectic Method’s bootlegging escapades which led to their involvement in a three series run of MTV Mash.
*

Fatboy Slim brought them in to megamix his music videos as a bonus to his 2006 DVD "Why Make Videos". U2 have called upon them to do multiple U2 video remixes after seeing an EM video on You Tube.
*

Check out www.eclecticmethod.net for video samples of their work.

MTV UK will be the official broadcast partner for 2009. Billed as MTV Presents OXEGEN this underlines the broadcaster’s commitment to support live music events as part of its initiative, Music’s Biggest Fan which launched in 2008. MTV UK’s support will include both TV and web content of the festival.

Switch on to MTV…

MTV UK has enjoyed a long and successful association with OXEGEN since 2005 and the broadcaster’s involvement this year builds on this relationship.

“It’s great to be returning to Punchestown this year as the official broadcast partner for OXEGEN,” says Richard Godfrey, Senior Vice President, Music &Production, MTV Networks UK & Ireland. “The line-up, as ever, is phenomenal, and it promises to be a fantastic event.”

OXEGEN Weekend is planned across the MTV suite of channels on the 1st & 2nd August…a chance for fans to re-live their classic festival moments.
Returning to OXEGEN 09…

OXEGEN 2008 saw the introduction of Bui Bolg’s iconic OXEGEN giant ‘Stonehenge’-esque entrance archway and on site sculptures at the Punchestown. The guys at Bui Bolg have created the amazing props for our photocall today and will be back again at this year’s festival to produce some more exciting and crazy structures which will act as ‘site markers’. Their work uses pop art influences with super-sizing, cartoon like outlines and bright zingy colours to create bizarre inflatable artworks which will help festival-goers navigate around the site.

Boutique Camping is back at OXEGEN 2009 in the Green Campsite which provides a more luxurious stay at Europe’s Favourite Rock & Roll Weekend. The bespoke village area has its own showers, toilets and is conveniently located close to the parking areas. The campsite will once again be home to Yurts and Teepees provided by Tangerine Fields, award-winning and eco-friendly Myhabs and the Hobbit style Podpads. For more information check out oxegen.ie.

Award Winning OXEGEN...

Festival-goers had their say on which bands they wanted to play at their festival and, in a final victory for fan power, their choices were vindicated when fans from around Europe voted OXEGEN as ‘Best European Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards.

In addition, 2008 saw OXEGEN become Ireland’s largest 100% CarbonNeutral event – an achievement recognised by The European Festival Association, YOUROPE, awarding OXEGEN its prestigious Green N Clean Award. OXEGEN is the first festival in Ireland to receive this award and one of only 18 festivals Europe wide.

Dour Festival on 16 Jul 2009

Location: La Plaine de La Machine à Feu

On Sept 16th 1989 the first Waloon rock festival opened its gates for the first time. At that time the ambition was to put the village of Dour on the rock map. Twenty years later the first Belgian festival to offer several stages and a camping site has been recognised internationally. Bands and festival goers from all over Europe gather at Dour every summer. Dour is a festival where everybody feels close to each other and every gig is really an excuse to party. We all go to Dour to party TOGETHER and listen to exciting music.

2009 Osheaga Festival on 28 Jul 2009

Location: Parc Jean Drapeau

Reading Festival 2009 on 28 Aug 2009

Location: Little John's Farm

If you missed out on tickets, here's a competition to try your hand at.

http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk/reading-festival-2009/news/win-pair-reading-festival-weekend-tickets/1407

Rock, alternative, indie, punk, metal, with big names, breaking acts, and exclusive performances Reading Festival has it all.

The dates for Reading Festival 2009 are confirmed as on the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire.

The headliners for this year's festival will be Kings Of Leon (Friday), Arctic Monkeys (Saturday), and Radiohead (Sunday).

For the day, stage splits, line-ups and rumours where available, please click here.

Tickets have sold out and were priced at £175 for a weekend ticket, £70 a day ticket, and £10 for an early bird Thursday entry ticket. Campervan and Caravan permits cost £20 in advance and £30 on the gate. Car park passes are £5 in advance this year, or £10 on arrival. Over 18's wristband will be optional, but allow those that look young to not have to carry ID around all the time.

There has been the occasional re-release of tickets, to see if they might be available, click here.

Note: This year tickets will not be on sale at the gate. There will be no box office of any kind. All tickets will be sent out to customers. Overseas customers will need to pick up tickets from The Hexagon.

Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but MUST be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note there is no separate children's area at this event, and eFestivals considers this an event not really suitable for children.

Festival Republic produces a guide to Disabled Access and Facilities for all it's festivals, which includes details of the 2-for-1 ticket scheme. Please request a booklet and application form on 020 8961 5490. All application forms must be submitted by Friday 24th July 2009.

On site facilities include: Bars, Cash Points, First Aid & Paramedics, Food & Non Food Stalls, Information.

There's a few alterations for 2009.
The arena is to be extended at the Western end to create more space for the Radio One tent, make room for an extra block of loos and improve the levels of music on site, without increasing the disturbance off site for residents.
A new policy on Crowd Surfing. The policy has been revised and if attendees come over the barrier for fun, they will be put back onto road G4 and made to walk back down to the arena entrance to come back into the arena that way, the long way
The Arena Entrance has moved, the layout will change this year to ease the flow in and out.
Campsite toilets have been rearranged within the campsites, the site map when available will show this.
There are to be NO aerosols (over 100ml) or gas canisters. If you want to cook outside your tent you bring bring disposable barbecues only. Anyone seen with canisters or cylinders will be ejected from site.
There will be no Indigo Zone this year. What was indigo last year will revert back to brown and purple.

As with previous years organisers Festival Republic are keen to encourage festival goers to respect the local residents and the environment, and to encourage everyone to leave their cars at home.

Coach:
There are normally special National Express and See Coaches festival services running directly into the site from all over the UK.

The Lift Share scheme:
If you have to bring your car to Reading then why not try the lift-share scheme. It will reduce traffic congestion to the festival; you can split petrol costs between you, and helps reduce global warming at the same time.

Peak traffic flows are likely on the Thursday and on the morning of the Friday as festival goers arrive on site. Most traffic is expected to depart the site late in the evening on the Sunday and before noon on the Monday. The organisers ask all festival goers to try and avoid these periods unless necessary to minimise congestion.

Leeds Festival 2009 on 28 Aug 2009

Location: Bramham Park

Please don't add bands to the listing until they have been officially announced!

This year is Leeds' eleventh and it's still the North of England’s biggest music festival. Over the years, a host of bands have started their careers here, from Nirvana to Underworld and the biggest names in music have written the opening chapters of their stories at Leeds. As the years go by, the line-up for this event gets better and better and this year will be no exception!

Parklife 2009 on 26 Sep 2009

Location: The Botanic Gardens

Fuzzy’s annual Parklife tour has grown to become one of the country’s most loved and successful festivals, with a national audience that exceeded 100,000 people last year. It’ll be back in 2009 of course, and the enthusiasm for news on the tour has so far been unprecedented. We’ve hung on every rumour like our very life has depended on it. Well, the wait is finally over. Check below for the full lineup for the Parklife 2009 tour!

Parklife always sports an impressive lineup, but the list of artists for the 2009 tour is arguably one of Fuzzy’s best yet. It’s the perfect balance of the new and cutting-edge with tried-and-tested favourites. Familiar faces include Kaskade, MSTRKRFT and Busy P, along with some of the hottest names in indie-dance like The Rapture and Crystal Castles. A healthy serving of underground club credibility also comes in the form of acts like Aeroplane, AutoKratz and Claude VonStroke.

Even better, a significant number of acts on the lineup will be touring Australia for the very first time, including our own critically acclaimed Empire of the Sun, Erol Alkan, Junior Boys, La Roux and Little Boots. Check below for the full list of artists we’ll be enjoying this September and October!

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, 25 June 2009 through the following:-
