Dzisiaj w Bass Me In będzie miała kolejna, trzecia już prezentacja polskich producentów dubstepowych. O ile w dwóch wcześniejszych edycjach utwory rodzimych producentów stanowiły punkt wyjścia dla przygotowywanych miksów (w ich trakcie pojawiały się również produkcje zagraniczne), tym razem cały set został przygotowany tylko w oparciu o polskie produkcje. W dzisiejszym miksie będzie okazja wysłuchać utworów przestrzennych i atmosferycznych (Dr Pytor, Substep Infrabass), na wskroś minimalistycznych (Q600), wykorzystujących masywne bity i ocierających się o rootsowe i orientalne klimaty (Kasierr, Kaosbreed, Ptr1).

Oczywiście wielkie dzięki wędrują w stronę wszystkich zgromadzonych tutaj producentów. Big up and dubby yo!

Today, at "Bass Me In", I show you another set of tracks made by dubstep producers from Poland. In past shows tracks made by them were only a starting point for prepared mixes (along with foreign productions), but this time whole set was prepared with polish tracks only! In today's mix you'll get a chance to hear different kinds of dubstep - spartial and atmoshperic (Dr Pytor, Substep Infrabass), some minimalistic (Q600) with solid beats, followed by rooty and oriental moods (Kasierr, Kaosbreed, Ptr1).

Of course massive thanks goes to all producers mentioned here! Big up and dubby yo!

The Baby Namboos - Ancoats 2 Zambia

Ancoats 2 Zambia to jedyny album projektu The Baby Namboos, w którego skład weszli między innymi: wokalistka Aurora Borealis (Zoe Bedeaux), Mark Porter i Anthony Guest - kuzyni Tricky'ego, Willie Wee (raper z The Wild Bunch) oraz Mad Dog, który rapował też w kilku utworach na płycie Juxtapose, a wcześniej działał pod nazwą Bionic MC w hip hopowej grupie London Posse. Na Ancoats 2 Zambia Mad Dog jednak nie rapuje, tylko gra na perkusji. Płyta ukazała się w 1999 roku pod labell'em Durban Poison, którego właścicielem był Tricky. Wziął on także udział w nagraniu trzech kawałków: Get Your Head Down, tytułowym Ancoats 2 Zambia i Provoked, z którego tekst został wykorzystany też w Analyze Me na płycie Angels With Dirty Faces. Nagrania zostały zrealizowane w Tricky Studio w Nowym Jorku, a album swoim klimatem przypomina produkcje Tricky'ego z jego najlepszego okresu twórczości. W filmie dokumentalnym Naked And Famous Tricky opowiada trochę o sowich kuzynach. Jest też fragment ze studia podczas nagrywania kawałka Late Night Antics. Mniej więcej w tym samym czasie wyszła także płyta Juxtapose i można odnieść wrażenie, jakby Tricky swoje najlepsze pomysły zrealizował z The Baby Namboos, a nie na swojej solowej produkcji. Rok później ukazała się amerykańska wersja albumu. Jest ona o tyle ciekawa, że znalazły się na niej dwa remiksy kawałka Ancoats 2 Zambia, w tym jeden zrobiony przez Geoff'a Barrow'a z Portishead.

"...... The FlyKKiller story is that the songs contained within this album are recorded by an extra terrestrial called V who created this album (whilst in captivity in the FlyKKiller Institute in Poland) as a vessel in which to pass on her peaceful communications to us earthlings......"

FlyKKiller, are London-based Polish downtempo, trip-hop singer Pati Yang, together with Stephen Hilton (musical parter of David Holmes, of The Free Association), and Dominic DeGrande, Faye Hamilton and Brian Fairbairn (mainly taking part when playing live).

With an album, Experiments In Violent Light, and three EPs released so far, this collective is on its way to become something quite serious in Her Majesty's lands but not only.... With their mutated hip hop structured tracks, trip hop flavoured backgrounds, experimental fat electro beats, dense and groovy bass sound waves, Pati and Stephen deliver something unique in today's soundscapes.

Combines the likes of a dark shadowed Goldfrapp and The Knife on a rainy Sunday afternoon, Pati's dense and sexy vocals marry perfectly to Stephen's beats creating the marvelous sound behind their debut album, the perfect soundtrack to David Lynch's or Alfred Hitchcock's most terrifying films.

After the release of our 2005 favourite Silent Treatment, Pati has returned in great shape, together with Stephen Hilton to sign one of 2007's most interesting proposals. The time has come for you to discover it now......
