Impromeeting is a meeting place for the improvisation of sound artists from different artistic disciplines as a form of collaboration, experimentation and fun. Impromeeting accommodates musicians and non-musicians, narrators, poets, electronics, sound art, djing, turntablism or any other form of creating sound and noise from the point of view of experimental music. Organised by Mauri (producer, artist and dj). First edition was in 2010 and the second edition was on 10th of july 2011 in Gijón (Spain) with 4 artists from different musical styles (were first improvising in pairs, and ended up playing all together). The artists for Impromeetin’2011 were: Non Ergo (with a computer, synthesizer, and voice). vRED (electronic violoncelo, guitar, contrabass and some footswitch). Violeta Nureyev (bass and voice). Las Casi Casiotone (with 2 MacBook Pro, Midi controller, delay footswitch and microphone).

FIELD RECORDINGS WORKSHOP IN BOCHUM

Field Recordings ist der Überbegriff für Audioaufnahmen, die nicht in einem Studio mit Hilfe von Instrumenten, sondern beispielsweise in der freien Natur durch das Aufnehmen vom Umgebungsgeräuschen entstehen. Mittlerweile haben sich Field Recordings zu einer eigenen Stilrichtung entwickelt und sind als atmosphärische Beigabe aus Ambient- und Dronesongs nicht mehr wegzudenken. Der italienische Soundtüftler und Experimentalmusiker Fabio Orsi hat eine ganz eigene Art entwickelt, aufgenommene Field Recordings am Rechner zu bearbeiten, um letztendlich ein Musikstück daraus zu kreieren. Das möchte er jetzt in einem Workshop weitergeben.

“Day 1″ was composed based on the concept of this new century, Ambient Breaks that attempt to form a musical reflection on social issues and new technologies, the environment or the fears raised about a new era, treated from a standpoint acid and reflexive. Noisesurfer attempts to create an atmosphere full of Breaks and Ambient sounds with spirit and soul, sounds intended for personal listening and causing the listener to be more encouraged. Trying to create sounds that resemble our times, incorporating various emotions; happiness, sadness and feeling of melancholy all from the sound, with no more lyrical input than just noise.
