Diamos Roll is the stage-name of a well-known Belarusian keyboard player, who is usually busy with the ensemble CherryVata. He is, we should point out, not the only member to prefer a moniker to whatever's written in his passport. CherryVata together, with real and imagined identities, have been publishing material on a regular basis since 2004, and "Roll" is usually credited with managerial responsibilities. It's not surprising, therefore, that he might ponder the appeal of a solo venture from time to time, as something of a sabbatical.
And so, in the multiple guises of composer, sound designer, and producer, he now announces a five-track, twenty-three minute mini-album, "Rosecode." It appears not only in the context of DR's professional work with CherryVata, but also against the backdrop of his (entire) biography. In other words, he traces the genesis of these new tracks to his childhood. "When Diamos Roll was a little boy, there was always a great deal of music around. The sounds of jazz, rock, and classical recordings at home were constant. As a student, he would later delve into electronic music, devouring anything he could find. At the same time, he began DJ-ing with cassettes and CDs."

That healthy diversity of styles and performative experience would be reflected in initial solo recordings. "DR took his first, eclectic steps within a wide range of styles - all the way from trip-hop and jazz to rock or techno." That same patchwork aesthetic continues in "Rosecode," with a particular penchant for "instrumental hip-hop, funk, and nu-jazz." The artwork helps to set the stage for some appealing and often striking combinations.

A solo project, of course, makes any such generic infidelity a lot simpler: nobody needs to be persuaded. On a related, but more pragmatic level, Diamos Roll has told the Belarusian press that touring as a one-man band should also be considerably easier. It's cheaper than wayfaring with an entire collective - and one is always open to last-minute, voluntary changes in the schedule. Solitude therefore has considerable benefits in a poor economic climate. - (FarFromMoscow text)

6 января 2012 года украинская Dark Metal формация Tectum поздравляет всех поклонников тяжелой музыки с новогодними праздниками и представляет на всеобщее обозрение свой свежий интернет-релиз - сингл-трек на рождественскую тематику - собственную обработку известной во всем мире украинской народной песни "Щедрык", популярность которой принесла музыкальная обработка Н. Леонтовича, а зарубежным аналогом является "Carol of the Bells". Группа около года планировала выполнить именно эту задачу, а затем записать на студии композицию.
Особого шарма придает гостевое участие товарищеского коллектива, а именно: в записи приняла участие черкасская женская вокальная группа Буднитай. Буднитай - это шесть девушек, которые поют "a capella" преимущественно 4-х голосие. Коллектив за несколько лет стал лауреатом областных, всеукраинских и международных конкурсов. По части лирики в "Щедрыке" от Tectum существуют одновременно и украинская и английская версии композиции. Запись трека и сведение сделаны в ноябре-декабре 2011 г. на студии Paradox records, г. Черкассы. Мастерингом занимался Ролик Николай. Тематическое оформление обложки выполнила Евгения Помогайбо, которая ранее помогала группе Tectum с демо-альбомом "Alpha" (2009). Сингл доступен для свободного скачивания в Интернете в CD-rip качестве.

Nexus VI - RemixLust (2012): EBM / Dark Electro

Synthematik presents a remix album from one of the oldest Russian ebm / dark electro bands Nexus VI coming from the heart of Siberia!
Nexus VI was formed in 2001 by Neuromancer and has later expanded to a four-piece line-up. The band has to date released three full-length albums “Decaying Society” (2006), “Electrolust” (2008) and “Apocalypse” (2010). Now they return with a remix compilation that serves as a warmup before a new album.
“RemixLust” features remixes of the tracks from the previous two albums delivered by Electro Synthetic Rebellion, People Theatre, Sleetgrout, Diversant:13, [Sin.Thetic Squad] and Anamadim. Besides it contains two collaborations with fellow musicians Vladimir Harknonnen and Chaos-Module.
The paid version of the release features two additional bonus tracks: a remix from A7ie and a remix done by Nexus VI’s Neuromancer for Sleetgrout.
It is also planned to release a very limited run of physical CDs featuring four additional bonus tracks. Everyone interested in getting it, please contact neuromancer@sibmail.com.
