Decibel: - Were you offended when Sepultura decided to maintain the name after your leave?

Max: - "No, but isn't the same thing. And I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Much of the fans think the same. I felt betrayed when something that is yours is took away.... It is just betrayal. But it was something hard because my brother was in teh band. Musically I got over this quickly, because I was so busy with Soulfly that I didn't have time to get angry.

Decibel: - Now Sepultura is without you and Igor(Igor Cavalera, ex-Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy). Isn't that strange?

Max: - "They can play with the name Sepultura, but me and Igor hold the spirit with (Cavalera) Conspiracy. So the name Sepultura can be alive, but there's nothing inside. What I do now with Igor is the most possible thing like a reunion that can happen, but is better because we're playing new songs and I couldn't ask more than this. "

Decibel: - You talked to Andreas Kisser (Sepultura's lead guitar) or Paulo Xisto (bass guitar) since you leaved Sepultura?

Max - "No, none of them, but people said that thing between me and Igor was fake. People on Europe said: "You two went to vacancies with the family together and say to the press that dont speak". But this wasn't fake. I spent a long time without talk with Igor and I still don't talk with other members. It's kinda strange, but how the things went with Igor, there is a possibility that we play some gigs with Paulo and Andreas. I'm very open about a reunion - same with the members of the first Sepultura lineup of the 10 years ago when we did something that I call "death metal boot camp", before going to United Sates. That were good years when we didn't know how to play and didn't play anything, but these years were very important to me and Igor. That Sepultura's lineup was very important and I think much people forget this.Without these years, 'Chaos A.D.' or 'Roots' would never existed, because that was the foundation; the beginning of everything, so if there is a reunion, I would like to invite these members to show to the world something deeper, different from the classic formation."
