Been waiting for this hell a long time, all along with Wintersun's "Time". Well, The Eternal Wait (yeah, phrase-rip-off) deserved every single fuckin' second I spent.

This, ladyheads and metalgents, is by far the ALBUM of 2008. Of course, we have Jari Maenpaa yet to come with his genius, but man, "Sagas" slays. I can't judge so early if it's better than Turis Fratyr, but, unholy viking pagan shit, just listen to Mana!!!

Gosh, these guys cut balls and slit throats...again. Hail, heidra, raise the horns, raise the mead, all for Equilibrium.

Death-something needed or to be avoided?

Death is the end of life.But what's the actual meaning of death?Why do we all die?Is there a special reason behind death?
What if dying is only an option?And at the moment humanity isn't evolved enough to take the other option,which is obviously not dying?Although immortality may seem a rather foolish idea,why are we so afraid of death?Perhaps we are aware of the fact that we could actually prevent death,if we continue to evolve?Our bodies may not naturally cope with our desire,but our mind desperately tries to exist.So maybe the reason why we die is only because our bodies aren't made to last as long as we want.What if death is actually more like a disease,would there be a cure to it?If so then I'm positive that there is,because there's no such thing as an incurable disease,only temporarily incurable diseases.As we humans evolve,we always find cures for what was once known as incurable.Currently I think that the only known weakness of death may be birth,but what if there is another one?
Life is currently defined as the period between birth and death.But the birth of what?The birth of our bodies and our minds,or the birth of one of those two alone?Since the mind is directly connected to our body through the brain,it is given birth along with our body.However must the "breaking" of our bodies result in the mind ceasing to exist?Maybe the key to immortality is preserving our mind,in other words keeping the brain functioning.
I believe that deep inside our subconscious we know that we can prevent death,and that is the reason why we fear death and always try to stay alive.If we knew that death is 100% something unavoidable why would we have gone to such efforts to cure diseases?Perhaps our mind is still consciously unaware of its true desires,and that our true desires are leaking out our current desires.If that is right,then I think our egoistical struggle to avoid death may be our true minds awareness of the power to do so.
But I won't deny the possibility that humans are simply naive,irrational creatures whom,in their ignorance,believe they have the power to do anything.I may have mistook the fear of death for something bigger,and that it actually is simply like an arrogant child's wish for something they can't have.However that seemingly foolish desire is what kept humanity taking one step forward.Immortality seems like an impossible dream but it's what kept humans evolving,so achieving immortality wouldn't be such a good thing for humanity in the end.
Let's assume that humans were to achieve immortality.What next?Humanity may become more ignorant than it currently is,since all humans would act like some spoiled kid whose every wish came true.Also we would nave no mortality rate and we would be too many for our everybody's sake,and so humanity would only cause itself more problems than it can handle.
Death may be an error of nature,but good errors still exist nowadays.Humanity may need more death than we can accept.Maybe if we stop seeking eternal life humanity will actually take a big step forwards,and only genetically good humans will inhabit the world,unfortunately for those who didn't have the chance to be genetically normal.In any pack of animals the sick are always left at the back,and if they cannot keep up with the rest of the pack then they are sacrificed for the good of the head.Humans don't do that.Humans want to "keep the pace" with those who can't run as good as the others,and that may be what keeps humanity for reaching it's full potential.Even though it sounds like a drastic idea,you should try to look at the bigger picture.This planet has a limit to how many humans it can actually support,and our numbers are more than Earth,or better said nature,can handle.Humans in their desperate battle to prevent death as much as they could destroyed the natural balance and nature suffered more than it should and we are seeing the consequences of it now.
So until humanity will see the true beauty behind the ugly mask of the grim reaper humans will have to crawl their way through history,and eventually to their extinction.After all,the big bad wolf is humanity and not the big scary "monster" with a scythe.

P.S.:If you see some mistakes with grammar ignore them please and I'll give you a Scooby Snack.

Added later:There is yet one more possibility.Albert Einstein believed that if humans were to use 100% of their brain capacity they would become pure energy and they wouldn't need bodies.And since energy cannot be destroyed we can assume that we could become immortal if we'll take a few steps up on the evolutionary stair.I guess that immortality comes with time.

Yes you’ve read the title right. You murderer. You’ve killed the very icon you claim to admire. You’ve personally sucked the last breath out of his holy lungs and nailed him to the cross a second time. Permanently. And now he’s up there, rotting, you continue to stab his worm-eaten corpse with endless sin.

And I thank you.

Before you rally to your defenses, let me take you to the beginning. Genesis 3:2-5.
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The serpent was Lucifer in disguise and seduced Eve into sin. As you all know Eve ate from the tree and was banned from paradise. Man became sinful. But not to worry, God still loved us. He sent his only son down to earth to be sacrificed in order to forgive mankind for it’s sin. The only thing you’ll need to do is accept Jesus in your heart as your Lord and Saviour and everything will work out for you in the end. We’ll get back to that statement later.

Let’s take closer look into Genesis first. Paradise was a place where man had no idea about good nor evil, our eyes were closed. Only God knew the distinction between good and evil. Lucifer didn’t just bring enlightenment, or so-called sin, to mankind. Lucifer is enlightenment. It’s the literal translation of his name. The first sin of mankind was opening our eyes in order to judge for ourselves without the need of God. We became God.

When we take this into perspective and strip it down to the basics the story basically tells us mankind is unfit to choose between good and bad, and doing so is sinful. We should also choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. The paradox is obvious but let’s ignore that for a second. Free will is a sin. You should not judge for yourself, you should not lead your life the way you like it. You should live by the will of God.

When we take a trip down memory lane we’ll meet some of the greatest adversaries of Christianity. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote in the Gay Science:
God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?

naivety, optimism, generosity we find in botanists, specialists in fundamental sciences, explorers, but never in politicians, historians or priests. the first ones ignore people, the others make man the object of their activities or studies. the very vicinity of man hardens you. those that give him their thought, study him or wanna help him end up looking upon him with disgust and pity, sooner or later. unsurpassable pshychologist, the priest the individual with the fewest illusions, incapable - by its job - of giving the least of credit to his fellow men. thus, his air of accomplice, his wickedness, his slyness, his fake compassion and profound cynicism. those of them - a really insignificant number - that walked the path of holiness, wouldn't have done it if they looked at their "patients" closer : they were lost, "bad" priests, incapable of living as by-standers ( while profiting from it...) to the original sin.

in order to rid ourselves of any illusions regarding man, we should posses the science, the secularly experience of confession. the church is so old and sickened, that it cannot believe in the salvation of anyone, nor can it live in intolerance. after fighting an endless mob of zealous and suspicious men, ended up in knowing them and their scruples, their torments and confessions. two thousands years in the intimacy of souls! it's too much, even for the church. miraculously spared, so far, from the temptation of disgust, the church finally gives in today: those consciousnesses that it cared for are draining it, annoying it. none of our sufferings and disgusting deeds wake its interest: we wore down its pity and curiosity. it knows so much about us that it despises us, it lets us wallow, search endlessly... the fanatics have begun deserting it...

Youtube is filled with more idiots, petulant fools, and et cetera than I care to fuck with. But this one is so idiotic, stupid, dumb, petulant...

Wow a new Heavy Metal band that can sing!! Not like that fake metal crap they play on mtv or vh1. I can actually understand what the singer is saying, it's not like that crap music like Cannibal Corpse.

So I entered a discussion with this... thoughtful... user.

Judas Priest was huge so was Maiden. And Megadeth hasn't done as much for thrash metal as Pantera has. And metal will continue to die since death metal is only contributing more to the problem, then help solving it. Only thing I give most death metal bands is the band itself, aside from that the singing will always suck if they just scream, not really sing Death metal is only becoming popular thanks to MTV and VH1.

My response was:

You have got to be kidding me! Priest has sold 30 million albums from the 1970s to present whereas Maiden has sold over 80 million. Both of them had their last platinum albums FAR before grunge came around. It's also dumb as hell to say that about Megadeth, since Megadeth influenced legions of bands and has sold 20 million albums, compared to Pantera's 8 million. Pantera is groove metal anyway, not thrash.

Not again, great now do I have to tell you what the hell groove metal is? That is Rage Against the Machine. Rap with funk guitar with a metal sound to it. I don't hear Phil trying to rap do you? And you can't go by record sales, its if people know the name of the band and listen to there music.

So here's my response:

Groove metal is Pantera, newer Lamb of God, Machine Head, Mastodon, Meshuggah, etc. Rage Against the Machine is often classified as "funk metal" at their most metal, whereas they're mostly classed as alternative rock. Nu metal is rap influenced, as well as funk influenced, grunge influenced, et cetera. You know nothing of metal, dude.

You'd think I would have won by now, but no, this fucking fool persists.

Apparently you don't either then. Mastodon is death metal, so is Lamb of God. You and I can't agree on one thing, so let's just drop this agruement since we've probably already filled up about three pages worth of youtube comment space.

Is it just me or is it ironic that I pointed out that Megadeth has 12 million more in album sales, and then he says if it's anyone knows their name or listens to their music.

OK, seriously what the flying fuck? If 12 million more people have bought a Megadeth album, I'd say 12 million more people somewhere out there know of Megadeth. You're just asking the wrong people: the ones who watched MTV in the early 90s before Nirvana took it over. Pantera was an MTV staple.
