urgh.

Ok, I guess congrats to the founders for raking in the dough. You've also just sucked the last hope out of me that last.fm will actually listen to its users, or atleast to the group of users (nay, subscribers, paying users) who have been waiting for musicbrainz integration to be restored for over a year.

I'll stop scrobbling for the time being while I contemplate this, but I guess there is a good chance I will have no interest in returning, and certainly not in supporting mpdscribble any longer (ok, I wasn't doing a great job at that anyway, but now it will be official ;).

Hello there.

Finally I have put together a new mpdscribble release. It took a while due to a new job which is 3 hours from where I live, and I am stuck here until the city of rotterdam wakes up and honors my request for a living permit there. But, back to mpdscribble.

This release has some nasty segfault fixed and finally supports submitting musicbrainz ids, and some other smaller fixes. Big thank yous for sending in patches or otherwise pestering me to work on mpdscribble go to (in no particular order):

David Nicolson, David Morgan, Michal Nazarewicz, and Andrey Rahmatullin.

As always, you can get it at http://www.frob.nl/scribble-download.html.

I've connected pwntendo (off the new Venetian Snares album) to this entry, mostly just because I'm listening to it now. The album sounds pretty good so far (I am not familiar with any of Aaron's previous work), although I have a slight feeling I will grow bored of it fairly soon, but who knows what's hidden in there and waiting to be discovered by repeated listening. If anything, I love the album title :)

Hi

So we get this very pretty, fancy new last.fm site,.. and my plugin decides to stop submitting songs. It actually stopped submitting stuff a few days before the new site. Talk about bad timing,... lovely new site,.. and I couldn't even use it.

Anyway, I have finally found and fixed the bug, so if your mpdscribble was acting strangely too -- you can get the new version at http://warp.frob.nl/scribble-news.html.

--Kuno.

ps. totally unrelated, but I just discovered Jem Theme -- A cover of the 80s cartoon 'Jem and the Holograms' theme song by synthpop band Freezepop. Not particularly well done, but such a nice unexpected surprise when playing their Fancy Ultra•Fresh album for the first time. :D
