If you read his book, Moonwalker, Michael Jackson says some of the same things in there which is in the below but it's great to hear Michael Jackson say who had inspired him.

I love that he was a HUGE fan of the classical composer Claude Debussy.

Though I haven't seen it, I've been told that the film, Twilight features Claude Debussy's song, "Claire de Lune."

Impressive to me to hear his stamp and interpretation of Michael Jackson's, "Smooth Criminal." At first I thought wow he is playing WAAY to fast but then this is his interpretation.

But, "Gloria" captured my attention.

Jewel has range and when I mention range she doesn't hesitate in sharing an angelic voice that is so pure where she is not even trying to sing. It seems as though her voice is as pure as my love for amel larrieux's voice.

How did I not know? I had heard some of Jewel's other music but not like this.

I can't wait to finish listening to Jewel's entire album, Lullaby, but "Gloria" makes you listen intensely and focus your attention on Jewel's range. I wonder if she has sung in an opera? Has she? I'm so intrigued!

Her softness in this song, "Gloria" is what I had adored in the singer Maxwell's voice in his song, "Softly Softly." Heaven!! Also in amel larrieux's collaboration with Sweetback in their song, "Gaze."

My ears prefer angelic and smooth voices. I guess as I get older I'm becoming more specific in what makes me smile through the singing voice. Instrument wise I lean toward strings especially the violin.

Although I adore a variety of sounds, Jewel's voice is perfect for me at this time in my life.

Thank you, Jewel, for allowing me to experience an angelic calmness through your voice. I'm so grateful!
