... however, one of my friends uses this network and has been without internet for three weeks. Therefore, nice ad, shame about the service. Which led to me to Nice Legs Shame About The Face, this week's earworm.

This week's earworm is Bat for Lashes - Oh Yeah, off the new album, The Haunted Man. Aside from the lyrics and that electronic Oh Yeah, what stands out for me is the music, it's pure Japan and I'm hearing Mick Karn (RIP).

My earworm today is a very lovely one that will see me through the festive season. Sufjan Stevens - Christmas Unicorn is a 12 minute long track from the Christmas box-set Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas, Vols. 6-10, a compilation of 5 EPs recorded between 2006 and 2010. More details and stream the song here. Oh I'm a Christmas unicorn... lalalala mistletoe on my nose. And then later on it turns into something very unexpected indeed. I shan't spoil the surprise, open your present...

This Is My Jam: How to Destroy Angels – Keep it together
Trent Reznor's new project with his wife, Mariqueen Maandig, Rob Sheridan and Atticus Ross. This track is the first single from the EP, An Omen. More details on Pitchfork.

This week's evil earworm is Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe. Yeah I said it. Suffer with me. Actually, this Bugs Bunny video makes it bearable.

My favourite album this week looks like is going to be Amanda Palmer - Theatre Is Evil. I liked her in The Dresden Dolls, but I like her more now. The album is not so loud and more musical and there's much to enjoy, not least the NSFW lyrics. One of the best tracks is this week's jam...

My favourite album of last week was Easy Star All-Stars - Thrillah, their cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller. There's only one track we all want to hear, isn't there....

This week's earworm is the beautifully aggressive iamamiwhoami - in due order, from kin, released earlier this year. This is me deleting that volume of spam. Please don't post in those threads, we don't stop to read and we will sweep you up.

My favourite album of last week was King of Spain - All I Did Was Tell Them The Truth And They Thought It Was Hell, partly because the guy on the cover looks like one of my friends, and partly because it is such an exceptional album, encompassing a number of sounds from Fleet Foxes, Talk Talk to 4AD. The track that stood out for me is this week's jam....
