A list of albums I've listened to all-the-way through and taken the time to rate each song on the album, then take into account a variety of factors including lyrical appeal and uniqueness, and come up with an 'average rating' calculated mathematically.

Some albums do not have many songs, and thus their ratings are higher. I am too lazy to incorporate the # of songs into the equation, and will simply continue to average out the ratings of songs on the albums.

Note about the ratings: they're rarely below 2.50 (as most of the albums I give a listen are those that I own, and I don't own many albums that I dislike unless I purchased them on a whim), and rarely above 4.50. I'm not that harsh of a judge, but I most of the albums I purchase tend to have 1-2 songs that bring the album down from its 4.50+ rating.

[4.60-5.00] - One of the best albums I've ever heard
[4.35-4.59] - Close to perfection, but missing something
[4.00-4.34] - A wonderful addition to any music collection
[3.50-3.99] - Heard it before, but still enjoyed it; worth a try
[3.00-3.49] - Mediocre; still worth a try
[2.00-2.99] - Uninteresting, bland and possibly worth a try if you enjoy the genre
[1.00-1.99] - Uninteresting, bland, and not even worth a try

Any album equal to or above my calculated rating of '4.35' is considered 'epic' by my standards. Therefore, each and every album I've ever rated as a 4.35 or higher will be included in this list. These albums can come from any decade and any genre. However, the majority of these albums will be progressive rock or heavy metal.

Albums with corresponding ratings will be sorted alphabetically by band name.

Ratings are subject to change at any time.

I may just start writing reviews for albums that I've listened to completely through. I have no idea; I'm a bored high school student with not much to do. I suppose it couldn't hurt to learn the mechanics of album-reviewing and thus learning some new things about music along the way. I must admit that I know nothing about instruments and even have a difficult time identifying the bass in some songs, but hopefully this experience will benefit me!
