A fantastically incomplete catalogue of Mancunian artists is the basis of this special one hour show. So for 60 minutes this month Jeff will be dipping a thimble into the Mancunian Ocean and fishing out songs by Old Suits, brunks, John Stammers, Base Ventura, Warm Widow, Black Star Dub Collective and X Rated Animals to name a few.

There are two shows from Marcelle this month.

'Don't read, just listen !!'
New vinyl from amongst other Mohammad, Albinos (in Wax Across The Water), Violetshaped, Berliner Ring, Demdike Stare, some Shoc Corridor remixes on a great Belgian label, Look Back Bores from Renaldo and The Loaf and The Box, and some more anti-Thatcher songs make a very worthwhile show, but quite a boring synopsis.

Mark Cunliffe:
Now, I normally waffle on about some amazing event happening in Biggleswade or some such place ... but ... I have Tippa Irie in session in a set recorded at The Maze in Nottingham at the start of March. So when you have such a legend of UK reggae on your doorstep, Biggleswade goes out the window ...
So, as well as Mr Irie, what's on offer??? ArthurK is as old as I feel and Gibby Haynes thinks our station controller has gone down the quiz again. Tessela has found an exotic bird on the marches but Cazzurillo feels he shouldn't have even bothered. Mazes have got their ska riddim's all out of sorts and Heatley Boys have put summut unusual under the grill ... Oh ... and one other thing ... I've got Tippa Irie in session ...

Mark Whitby:
Some of the forces responsible for the remarkable output of Vert:X and The Chasms get together to bring us Ramalama Codex & The Universal Unconsciousness in session this month. It's something not be missed, as indeed is true of the rest of a show which includes the final release in the Jack Hayter subscription series from Audio Antihero, new EPs from Ant and Dead Man's Tree and glimpses of what to expect from soon-to-be-released albums from The Fag Machine and Jesse Ruins.
The spirit of protest and dissent is much in evidence as, with a blistering track from his forthdoming album, JD Meatyard joins the Council Tax Band in delivering unrestrained ire at the powers of government, while Pig Welt takes on Christian Fundamentalists and P.F.A. make a stand for militant vegetarianism. Fellow Hungarians derTANZ and Fake Shakes may have less precisely defined targets in sight, but sound no less angry for it.
Elsewhere, Mexico's Javier Estrada covers The Coasters, Australia's LSD Ratkings muse on the misspent activities of a recently passed summer, Cyclic Freeload Unit consider the prospects for a poorly sheep and Gonjasufi and Ras G team up for one of the more memorable split releases of the year thus far. To top it all off, our Peel Back... feature looks back at a classic session track that, in that horrible month of May 1983, provided us with an all too rare reason to be cheerful.

Paul Ackroyd:
There are two Kamikaze offerings from Dandelion this month.
One is full of mostly new bits, from the likes of Demdike Stare, Chris Abrahams, Container, Julia Kent, Torn Hawk, TX Connect, DVA Damas, Anika, James Rushford & Joe Talia, Clge, Muslim Disco Club, Cakes Da Killa, Miles, Jerusalem in My Heart, Giuseppe Ielasi, Etcetc, Adritti Quartet, Albinos, Nick Brooke, and Incite Hu in Wax Across The Water.
There are some older/reissue bits too, of the electronic variety, by Saada Bonaire, Menachem Zur, Noah Creshevsky, Ivo Malec, and Muslimgauze.

Rocker:
Another packed three hour show this month, including new tracks from Veronica Falls; Girl One & The Grease Guns; Ace Bushy Striptease; The Fireworks; Lisa Bouvier; Council Tax Band; Bloomer; Mount Kimbie; The Carbon Manual; The Wednesday Club; Low; You Don't Masturbate; Tyrannosaurus Dead; and 'Man or Astro-Man?'.

There are Record Store Day 2013 releases from Inspiral Carpets and Edwyn Collins & The Heartbreaks. There's three more tracks from the mighty Crackle Records of Harrogate.
This month's Educating Elizabeth record brings us R'n'B from 1961, while Peel's Big 45 is a collectible red 7" from the year 2000.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: 'Man Or Astro-Man?' take their name from a publicity poster for the 1960 Japanese sci-fi horror movie 'The Human Vapor', directed by Ishiro Honda.

Sean Hocking:
There are two shows from Sean this month.
In Ring of Fire this month we feature some new tunes from China. I hope you like GUIGUISUISUI who remind me somewhat of the Legendary Stardust Cowboy and a song from a new split 10" on Genjing Records called Fuck The Kids, now that's the attitude!
From Asia we've also got Hanoi based experimental sound artist Luong Hue Trinh on the show. Down in Australia we suggest you take a closer listen to Major Napier at his Bandcamp and we also feature something new from Nozu and Perth based singer songwriter Louis Inglis.
We're also doing our best to explore the other side of the Pacific all the way from the top of the Americas to the bottom. So from Seattle we've got the next great hope in Americana, The Maldives, then a wonderful side project from the White Fang camp called Free Weed. Then it's down to Costa Rica for some hip hop Reggaeton and final our stop is Peru where we play music by Theremyn 4 and The Holydrug Couple.

Dandelion Roots:
Dandelion Roots this month is hosted by Gareth Main, whose adoration for all music Jamaican-influenced shows itself in a new monthly night in London starting this month.
Plug out the way, the quality of artists throughout this hour speaks volumes, from star MCs including Pupajim, Soom T and Daddy Freddy, to the leading producers of the modern day, including Scots Mungo's Hi-Fi, Polish man Dreadsquad and the ever incredible London producer The Bug. With a sprinkling of lesser known artists and a song about cheese, the eclecticism in this so-called 'specialist' show proves how far, wide and brilliant music borne out of one neighbourhood can spread.

Jeff Grainger:
Bands performing at this year's "Sounds From The Other City Festival" make up the bulk of Jeff's 3 hour April show. We'll hear, among others, Rozi Plain, Sea Pinks, La La Vasquez, QUEER'D SCIENCE, Stealing Sheep, Divorce, Coves, iLL and Laser Dream Eyes, who have recorded an exclusive for the show. There are a couple of acts (Yong Yong & Group Rhoda) from the excellent Nightschool Records as well a load of new faves, Black Star Dub Collective, Cipolla Varieté, Year of Birds and Physics House Band.
This month's show also includes golden oldies from Inspiral Carpets, Dub Sex, Laugh and Thrush Puppiesall of whom feature on the excellent charity compilation; Distant Drums, the proceeds of which go towards Hector's Charity, set up at St Mary's Hospital Manchester.

Marcelle:
There are two shows again from Marcelle this month.
The regular show is joined by the music-only runaway train.

The regular show is subtitled 'Freeze!'

The Tracklisting Police had to interfere in Marcelle's show because every now and then her information made no sense and, worse, violated all tracklisting info laws. Not that is was made easy for her: a new post punk dub compilation called Spiky Dread had its running order mixed up, Autechre's new 4LP box set is, as always with this duo, full of hi-tech track titles, the Wax Across The Water LP hadn't arrived in time for the recording so Marcelle had to cope with reading the band name Leven Signs (not Seven Ligns!) from a file (a most unethical thing to do!), and with Argentinians, well, there are always bound to be linguistical troubles, as Look Back Bore guest Bunny Wailer this month states in his April 1983 single. There's an untitled one-sided white label 12" from a certain KH; born under the name Kirian Hebden, artist name Four Tet, easily the best record of the moment.
Also worth writing down correctly are the titles of new vinyls from amongst others Elektro Guzzi, A Made Up Sound, SCB, Ectogram, Cyclopean, Actress and Ill Blu. Matmos deliver a very weird cover version of a classic Buzzcocks song on their new double album. Or is it 1½ album? Call the police!

In the Vinyl Train - there are stops all along the trip including in Marocco, Addis, UK and USA.

Mark Cunliffe:
I am always on the look out for interesting things to do, so when I spotted the Animal Handling Day in Dorset I thought what a day out that would be. So, what could you have as a soundtrack to fondling a ferret?
Jean Nipon is stashing summut up an elephant's hooter which Ghouqueu fully agrees with. Parquet Courts think they are the King's of processed cheese while Jammer think's he's only a step down when it comes to the SM58's. Club des Belugas are serving nuts while Adionia has similar ideas the filthy boy.
There are TWO sessions again ... one from the wonderfully talented singer/cellist, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and the other, a double mix from one of THE best jungle producers around, Kid Lib.

Mark Whitby:
I've been waiting for a while to secure a session from the remarkable Long Hat Pins. It's finally recorded, it's great and it features in my April show among a whole load of great new releases including albums from Lee Negin, Mister Lies and Black Pus and EPs from Postcode, Us & Them and Two Man Ting.
There's a whole slew of great releases from Eastern Europe, including Macedonians Bernays Propaganda, Bulgaria's Kottarashky and a remarkable album from Nac/Hut Report courtesy of Poland's Double Hallucinative label. Of course, there's the usual dollop of great new stuff from Hungary, which this month comprises tracks from P.F.A., Diskobra and a cracking new demo from Mudpie.
Elsewhere, Brazil's Top Surprise return with a humdinger of an new single, Mexico's Javier Estrada sticks an uncompromising probe into his country's history Black Bug, from Sweden, go berzerk with electronics, with manic and hugely satisfying results and there are intoxicating and frenzied remixes of Yelli Fuzzo and Les Ya Toupas du Zaire. Oh and Gonjasufi returns to form with a guest vocalist with MRR-ADM and we've got a track from the Chelsea Light Moving album too.
Beside this, there's so much new stuff this month we've only got time for a short Peel Back... feature, but it does include a brilliant musical recollection supplied by the wonderful Fun-Da-Mental.

Paul Ackroyd:
Inspired by a bumper-length Bob Ostertag piece for this month's Wax Across The Water, and a beautiful Mary Lattimore harp track that's almost as long, we've decided to keep things lengthy throughout April's Kamikaze offering. Other long things include long techno from Micawber and L'Estasi Dell'Oro, long electronica from Giuseppe Ielasi & Kassel Jaeger, long saxamaskronk from Barney Wilen, long cutlery rattling from Iannis Xenakis, long piano from Jeri Mae G Astolfi, long drone from Mohammad, and long Chilean Krautrock from Follakzoid. But if all of that's a bit long for your liking, try Quickfire Mark Cunliffe, who manages to squeeze a whopping 71 tracks into his show this month!

A change to the planned schedule means that Rocker has two shows this month. The new show is one that has been waiting in the wings for a while - like many stations we have had something prepared for the announcement of the death of Margaret Thatcher. That day has arrived.

There are two shows from Sean this month - at least ... there were. The second show was replaced from 9th April because of the announcement of Margaret Thatcher's death.

For the regular show there is an exciting start with a new track from future indie megastar Reykjavictim. It's only a demo but from Gao Tie, a track praising the benefits of China's high speed rail network comes across like the Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk. This man is a genius and it won't be long before others start to notice.
Also on the show we visit Chile for the first time and bring you some Psych Rock from Follakzoid.
Also on the menu this month are some new Australian discoveries including: Turvey Park from Melbourne who make a wonderful ramshackle version of indie that reminds me of the bands that McGhee used to release back in the early days of Creation and also from Melbourne DD Dumbo whose track Tropical Oceans sounds like James Blake returning from a holiday to North Africa and running straight to the studio. Cannae get enough of it.
All the usual Metal Postcard offenders too - Pairs, White Fang, Pink Quieter and San Francisco based Matthew Edwards and The Unfortunates.

Starting with some religious chanting, it doesn't take long for this month's show to get fast and funky, with tasty vinyl cuts from Persia, Sri Lanka and Nigeria interspersed with some utter 7" filth from Trunk Records. This hour takes in new vinyl from brilliant Yorkshire artists Tradesman and Parly B, The Dubwood Allstars, and Tsvia Abarbanel. Also included is some 70s disco from Jacky Chalard, a remixed Bruce Haack and music from an imprisoned Manson family member. Also keep an ear out for a brilliant Kraftwerk cover by Birmingham's Modified Toy Orchestra, some Spaghetti Western dubs, a remixed Pram track and the spectacular breaks of Oh No.

Jeff Grainger:
Jeff finally gets out of the blocks for 2013 with a 3-hour March show and catches up with a few releases from the back end of 2012, including Cold Pumas, The X Rated Animals, Big Oaks, Divorce, Neil Halstead and Sauna Youth who's excellent "Dreamlands" is this month's featured LP.
There's a shed load of new stuff too with tracks by Hookworms, Rio En Medio, Xitsonga Dance, acteurs, Boddika, Mogwai, Bleached and many more.
March sees the return of brunks and Violence Cowpiss plus the debuts for Exit Flagger and Ill but no room for My Bloody Valentine! - maybe next month.

Marcelle:

New vinyl from amongst others Harmonuious Thelonious, Pole (twice!), Sculpture, Diamond Version, Mutamassik and Lee Gamble nestles nicely alongside records Marcelle brought back from playing in Switzerland.
We go rockin' and sing raga courtesy of the ever reliable Mississippi Records and Ela Orleans' double LP is this month's Wax Across The Water. We play some freshly rereleased cumbia and the Must Die Records label and Hacker Farm inspire a rare playing of CDs on Marcelle's show. The March 1983 Look Back Bores are provided by The Nightingales, New Age Steppers and Wire.

Elsewhere on the schedule there's the second ride on The Vinyl Train, an adventurous and historical journey through Marcelle's record collection.

There's two wonderful sessions for you to knock your Gregg's pasty into a cocked hat. Haiku Salut come at us with three tracks recorded in deepest Derbyshire while My Psychoanalyst a bringing a full live set to the table ... WOW to both :-)

A stunning exclusive session from Flies on You is one of a number of reasons you might be advised to join me for three hours in March. Others include a track from the recently released My Bloody Valentine album and new releases from Darkstar, Hair Police, Mogwai and Tingle In The Netherlands.
A quick trip around the world finds me picking up along the way a storming demo from the Budapest punk scene, this time courtesy of BACK OFF!!, a feast of rhythmic energy from Brazilians Gang do Electro, a track from the new albums by Burkina Faso's Art Melody and France's Toddi Wellman, a cover version from South African garage band The Future Primitives and Portugal's Voodoo cutting up and putting together a whole load of stuff including his old Simpsons videos.

Writing this synopsis is the hardest part of the whole process for me.
I don't see the point....I mean , I understand that something has to be here...not just an empty space...some words saying what to expect...and there's a lot of that on the internet...words that exist only to fill space. But I think it's unlikely that you would choose whether or not to listen to my show on the basis of any words I write here (basically, a list of musicians, because we aren't supposed to publish a playlist until after the broadcast as a condition of our licence).

Briefly, whatcha got here is another 2 hour mixdown hosted by a computer. Predominantly my picks of last year's dance tunes. Now that I've had a chance to listen to a few 'best of 2012' shows, I've come up with some choices of my own. There's some new stuff in there as well. Peel's Big 45 and Educating Elizabeth are one and the same 7" this month - a soul classic from 1966.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Former Dandelion Records artist Beau's song The Roses Of Eyam, which I play in the show, and which is probably better known in the version by Roy Bailey, tells the story of the village of Eyam, in Derbyshire. In 1665 Bubonic Plague was carried to the village from London by fleas in a bundle of cloth. The villagers decided to quarantine themselves to prevent the spread of the disease. For 14 months they had no contact with outsiders. Over 250 of them died, but the disease was contained.

Welcome to the March edition of Ring of Fire. We have a couple of little features this month. Firstly ... Shanghai lo-fi punk band Pairs recently toured Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia and made a mix tape to celebrate the bands they saw and played with on the Indonesian part of the tour. Listen to bands with great 1979 anarcho punk names like: Scream of oi, Sintax & Sleeping Police and we even give you an introduction by Pairs guitarist "F" (nobody knows her real name) in Mandarin! If you like what you hear pop over to Soundcloud to learn more. We also researched what Australian underground music blogs thought were the best new releases of 2012 ... some great stuff and our favourites have to be Melbourne based band The Removalists pop over to their Facebook (linked) and tell them how much you love them.
We also feature a couple of tracks from the 2nd We Are Shanghai compilation which like everything else is available on Bandcamp. Finally we had fun rooting out CHM Supersound studios based in Papua New Guinea and other parts of the south Pacific. You do have to do a bit of searching to find the good stuff as a lot of releases from this part of the world can be somewhat saccharine but worth having a trawl on a rainy afternoon and you can always be assured even if the song is appalling the video will be a lot of fun!

Gareth Main:
The first show from Gareth in 2013 is his first vinyl-only extravaganza, taking in new records from Roots Manuva, Black Moth Super Rainbow, and The Bug, as well as more obscure cuts from Peru, Italy, Sweden, Japan, and even Scotland. There's a cut of classic French groove from Marcel Zanini, a reissued b-movie soundtrack from Michael Perilstein, and library music from Canadian composer Harry Forbes.

Elsewhere in the hour is a random selected record from Gareth's collection - a dangerous game of Russian Roulette for a man who owns a 2x12" gatefold vinyl called 'Shape Up For Motherhood' - a blast of Turkish funk, and a snippet of the first release on Gareth's GM Sounds label.

Marcelle:
There are two shows from Marcelle this month.
Her regular 3 hour outing is subtitled 'The Short and Long Show'
Timing-wise, extremes collide on this month's show from our travelling DJ. Marcelle plays, in Wax Across The Water, some very short songs by Broadcast, but makes up for this spare time by playing the whole side A of a very rare cassette release by the Berlin PAN label, where they mix up their records. Also the two tracks on the new Oneida album last almost 20 minutes each (Marcelle plays the 'shortest' one).
The Honorable DJ Clent, Lena Willikens, Konso Tribe, L.C. Knabe, Toulouse Low Trax, Jay Phlitman And Kim Kang, Joney, D.E.A.D. and Marcel Dettman all have new vinyl and with Lee Gamble’s new album we are back on the Pan label front. It’s as King Short Shirt already said in 1980: 'Support The Pan'! This track is also in the show, with the Look Back Bores coming from The Birthday Party, Congo Ashanti Roy, Minutemen and The Go-Betweens. So, we're into February and what are all you romantics doing for Valentine's Day? I'm trying to do something extra special this year and have booked a front row table for two for pie and peas and a night of cage fighting down at Loscoe Village Hall. Can't wait to see the reaction :-)
What's fought its way into my show this month then? Koshii is doing well at the coconut shy but Spoonz is getting a bad back playing his keyboard on the floor. Mallard the Wonderdog just isn't doing the bling thing right which is upsetting Delly Ranks. Mik is showing off a load of vitamins which has given RICKY TUFF a good ole boost. There are TWO sessions this month celebrating a great arts venue in Nottingham, The Contemporary. They are from the wonderful Grey Hairs and the sublime Hallouminati and were recorded on separate gig nights at The Contemporary last year.

Mark Whitby:
New discoveries are in plentiful supply in early 2013, and they're well represented in February's show in the shape of a taste of the forthcoming album from Laurence Made Me Cry, a demo from Hungarians Norms, another track from improvisational duo Mystical Weapons and the debut LP from Greg Boring among the featured releases.
Some well-established show favourites are also very much in evidence, including an exclusive new session from Hehfu and tracks from new albums by Dementio13, Serafina Steer, Broadcast and The Peach Tree, a taster from the forthcoming Dead Man's Tree EP and tracks from recently issued compilations bearing delights from Useless Eaters, Hangin Freud, Us & Them and Vert:X.
Yet these are mere whippersnappers in comparison with some of the seasoned delights on offer: we celebrate that recent single from Pulp, a track from (if my arithmetic is correct) the 32rd studio album from The Legendary Pink Dots and the return of Yeah Yeah Noh, who feature in a Peel Back... triumvirate along with a couple of interesting things I found in my pillow case on Christmas Day (no, not the pair of socks and bottle of Jack Daniel's).

I'm 50 years old this month, so I gathered 50 of my favourite tunes and, with some heavy editing, squashed them together into 2 hours. This isn't just a list made on a rainy afternoon, these are songs I listen to over and over again. I can sing-a-long to all of them. They are not the best in the world, they are my favourites, my desert island discs, selected from a short list of about 200. If I could have only fifty, these would be they. The oldest I have loved for 45 years, the youngest for less than one year. Many of these tunes are well known, a few are quite obscure. Regardless of popularity or any other quality, these are my persistent maggots.

Meanwhile, for a lesson in perfect song structure, delivery and timing, take a look at a full live version of 'Lonzo and Oscar - I'm My Own Grandpa'.

I had a huge amount of fun making this. The way it all came together ... it seems somewhat autobiographical to me. But isn't this the art of the mixtape ... to express oneself by an arrangement of other people's music? Music is so personal, especially our 'favourites', so there is a mystery in how such subjective feelings are communicated by a mix...yet they are.
...at least I hope so, and that some of you feel as deeply, openly moved by this music as I do.

We have a great new remix by Shanghai production duo Horses of Reyjkavictim's cover of the song Catfood originally pounded out by Shanghai duo Pairs who have just completed an Asia tour. Continuing a Christmas tradition started by the late BBC broadcaster John Peel in 1976, an assortment of our DJs will be counting down through the best 50 tracks from 2012, as voted for by listeners to Dandelion Radio. Neil Jenkins, Pete Jackson, Mark Whitby, Rocker, Rachael Neiman, Andrew Morrison and take it in turns to reveal the chart in reverse order, with Jeff Grainger announcing this year's winner! The show will broadcast daily (at different times) from Christmas Day until the end of January.

Andrew Morrison:
Andy's first show for 2013 features three hours of tracks from the very best releases over the last year - the vast majority of which you won't have heard him play before - including Human Don't Be Angry, The Horn The Hunt, Team Ghost, Breton, Ghost Society, The Twilight Sad, Errors, Stealing Sheep and many more. There's another chance to hear a couple of session tracks recorded exclusively for the show in the last twelve months from Cygnus X-1 and Atomizer, along with Scott's Funky Five Minutes. 'Business as usual'

Business as usual for Marcelle in January 2013: an (almost) strictly vinyl show, with new wax, this month from amongst others Meier und Erdmann, Peaking Lights, Boris Degenhart, Container, Schnauz, Pangaea, Old Apparatus, Elektro Guzzi and new Ethiopian tribal music. There’s a few sensational new Mississippi label releases from Ottoman-Americans and harmonium wizandry from gurdjieff. Bee Mask features with two albums, one being this month’s Wax Across The Water. The Can box ‘The Lost Tapes’ is out as a 5lp box set at last and the Look Back Bores come from the a bit dated Farmer’s Boys but also from the still fresh sounding Culture and (especially) The Box.

Mark Cunliffe:
As I gear up for Derbyshire's showcase January event "There's Nuffin Like A Puffin!" which isn't to be confused with the West End pipe smokers society of the same name, can I come up with any gems worthy of a Puffin classic in this month's show?
Well, The CB's are trying to get a Shure SM58 to run America so as to do what Biggie vs ATCQ are saying. S O H N is trying out the carvery at Holbrook's premiere hostelry. Fidler ain't saying goodbye, the rascals and Singing Adams is enlisting the help of Stalin to complete his task though he could have picked the wrong ruler? Dj Curt thinks Butch Clancy is telling porkies and is gunna sort him out in no uncertain terms and there is a truly wonderful session from spoken word artist Penny Goring to look forward to ...

Mark Whitby:
January's show is the usual seasonally adjusted mix of things to be reasonably optimistic about for the new year, a few excellent releases that got lost in the Xmas rush and a session from someone particularly brilliant. This month's session guest certainly lives up to that billing. Christ. has produced a mammoth seven exclusive tracks a little less than a decade since his semi-legendary live appearance on the John Peel show at Maida Vale.
In the first category are tracks from new albums by Bent Cousin, The Joy Formidable and Pissed Jeans as well as the much anticipated return of Pere Ubu. The amazing Daddy Tank label looks set to continue to go from strength to strength with a blistering new Social Studies EP and there are a couple of tracks from my recent Unwashed Territories triple album compilation in support of Pussy Riot from Spidersleg and The Fall & Fall.
And in the second camp we have new tracks from The Sinatra Test and Earthling Society and a cracking B-side from Y that were so injudiciously overlooked in my December show, along with a whole load of stuff from bands and artists that helped make 2012 such a great year, including a track from the new Snailhead album, another track from the recent single from The Spook School and Flies on You covering Altered Images, no less.
As has become customary in a January show, we also take a look back at what was in the Festive Fifty of ten years ago and speculate wildly on what might have got into the chart forty years ago, had it existed then. Of course, recording such a show may well prove to be futile if the world really has ended by the time this reaches you, in which case ignore everything I've just said ...

Neil Jenkins:
On Sunday 9 December 2012 the world lost Sir Patrick Moore, aged 89 - astronomer, broadcaster, musician, cricketer and perhaps the last great monocle-wearing English eccentric. To mark his passing Neil uses his January slot to take you on a 3-hour musical tour of the cosmos, with a few words from Partick himself here and there.

Paul Ackroyd:
Paul Ackroyd has put together a mix of music that is inspired by Pendle Hill and the infamous witch trial of 1612.
There are no spoken links - so sit back and listen or do some Internet searching to read more about it as it plays.

Pete Jackson:
This month's Janus-headed show features some great tunes from 2012, including a couple of session classics from BeMyDelay and Lord Numb, and a first taste of what 2013 has to offer from the likes of The Black Twig Pickers and Subactive. There's new discoveries from label samplers from Planet Terror, 1-2-3-4 Go! and Soundway Records, and to celebrate my fifth anniversary at Dandelion Radio, a couple of proper classics from the vaults.

Rev Porl has recorded another Christmas Session for Jeff's Show plus in this 3 hour end of year, bonanza there's another session, The long awaited debut from Persian Claws. Speaking of exclusives, Drink and Drive, One Step Program and The Truth About Frank all provide never before heard gems.
Jeff takes this opportunity to replay tracks from his favourite session artists (The Bigsby Brothers, Peopling and Stranger Son) and gives another spin to some of his favoutite tunes of 2012 (Four Tet, Django Django, Evian Christ. The Bordellos and Cheatahs to name a few). As always there's a clutch of first time apperances from the likes of Jessica Pratt,, Flies on You, Oh howl, brunks and stsisgold ... (but definitely no STSIsfrankincense and STSIsmyrrh).

Marcelle:
'Light in the darkness?'

In this least favourite month for Marcelle (dark, cold, wet, boring festivities of all kind) she tries to shine some spiritual and musical light by playing new vinyl by the likes of Pangaea, stig inge, The Bug, Elektro Guzzi, Nhk'koyxen, Conrad Schnitzler, Burnt Friedman, Istari Lasterfahrer, Lee Gamble, Boris Degenhart and Harmonic 313.
She has not one but two crazy versions of Eddie Cochran's Summertime Blues, and also two Waxes Across The Water (Professor Genius and Two Dogs in a House). To top it all there are three versions of Lee Perry's Soul Man. But is all this enough?

Mark Cunliffe:
So, we've nearly reached the end of another year but I'll be off to the Swedish town of Gavle to burn a straw goat as is the Christmas tradition in that part of the world. I haven't burned the candle at both ends for a while so why not a straw goat?
What have I got in store this month for you then? Mark Wynn is a bit confused as to who he is which Kid Lib is telling him in no uncertain terms. Heathered Pearls have more than a wind breaker which Alex Young is disgusted at. Ryan Marks is boasting about is holiday which Vybz Kartel is impressed with. Penny Goring is dancing with osteoporosis sufferers and Broken Fingers weighs in with a magnificent session mix, full of footwork goodness and contributes 19 tracks in 15 minutes to the 61 track show ... who needs a flamin' straw goat?!

Mark Whitby:
Solarno is responsible for spreading the seasonal cheer in our last show of 2012 with a wonderful Xmas-themed session, and he's also one of the nominated artists in this year's Listen To Me Top Ten, the rundown of which you can hear during the show.
We've also got spanking new singles from The Spook School, Timmy's Organism and Temple Music, whose contribution comes from this year's Fruits De Mer annual, and equally spanking new albums from Umberto, 2muchachos and Interlard, among others.
We also present the final brace of Hungarian releases for the year in the shape of EPs from KrumplCZukor and Summer Schatzies.

This month's Peel's Big 45 is a 1998 release featuring a White Stripe, whilst this month's Educating Elizabeth track is a soul classic from 1967.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: The White Stripes appear on more of the 7"s in John Peel's record box than any other artists, with ten of their own releases plus appearances on at least five others.

Sean Hocking:
Ring of Fire's last show of the year features a lot of new Chinese tracks after a famine for most of the year. The over productive Pairs have just released a double album on Metal Postcard but on this show we feature songs from their free Bandcamp album "Grandparent". Also new from China we've got Macau electronic types, Evade, The Yours, Dada Baba, The Paisleys and My Little Airport from Hong Kong as well as Beijing based The Fever Machine.
From Thailand we feature some Molam music from a free giveaway CD by Zudramgama Records. Molam music is made by Lao expatriots living in NE Thailand and has a pretty funky vibe we reckon. If you want to get more info on Zudramgama they appear to do a bit of work with Honest Jons of Ladbroke Grove in London so it's worth hitting them up for info.

Marcelle:
There are two shows from Marcelle this month.
A hightlight of Marcelle's regular November show is a record made of the sounds of a broken and skipping record. She also plays another new record three times differently (45RPM, 33 1/3 RPM and backwards)! She uses only the intended speed to present new material from amongst others The Bug feat. Daddy Freddy, Papa Kourand, Addison Groove, Fifty Fifty, Seekers International, Istari Lasterfahrer and Fis.
Listeners interested in the names of various metro lines around the world should look out for the new Anne-James Chaton And Andy Moor single. And of course there are the regular features Wax Across The Water (Xian Orphic) and (three) Look Back Bores.

For the other show, it was the U.S. presidential elections that prompted Marcelle to delve into her vast record collection looking for tracks about and name-checking politicians, including records which feature speeches by politicians. The result is an unlikely administration comprising of amongst other Salvador Allende, George Bush, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, Helmut Kohl, Richard Nixon, a whole bunch of dictators (Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler) and, obviously, Barack Obama.

Mark Cunliffe:
Well, it's November and I've been invited to the Bath Film Festival but, I'll be honest, I'm not sure nearly a fortnight of filming baths is too tempting. Perhaps if it was a Bath & Shower Film Festival I might be persuaded?
What can I persuade you with this month for my show??? Well, Addison Groove has spotted a Formula One driver dropping his trousers which Dusted approves of. Both Ryuji Takeuchi and Cate le Bon are getting philosophical and Vancore is thinking deeply. DJ Shepdog has drawn out a badminton court on his patio but his feline pet keeps getting in the way of the game so he's enlisted the help of KW Griff. There's a five track session from the wonderful Mallard the Wonderdog who is currently doing Film Studies at University ... do you think he'll want a copy of my 10 minute short, "Blue Whirlpool Corner Unit At Night"?

It's always a bit special when Spidersleg puts together a session for the show and this month's seven track extravaganza is certainly no exception. Add to that a whole load of great releases from the likes of Guantanamo Baywatch, Baffin Island, Ill Blu, The Sebstians, Strange Forces and XYX and you have a veritable feast of sounds to get you through the increasingly long autumnal nights.
In the much-loved and still doing the business corner, there are new tunes from The Chasms and Waylon Thorton, another excellent Jack Hayter single from the Audio Antihero subscription series, a track from the new EP from King Twit and a second album of the year from Lee Negin that, remarkably, manages to be even better than the first.
As Festive Fifty voting kicks off again for another year, our Peel Back... feature includes two tracks that made the chart of thirty years ago. Plus just to extend the Peel-related goodies even further, there are a couple of fantastic tracks from the recently release Tractor compilation, a band not only frequently played by John but also named by John.

There's electronica from Skream; Flying Lotus; Four Tet; Microtrauma; and Nathan Fake. There's an amazing new 13-minute track by Bee Mask; a similarly long track from the new album by Neil Young & Crazy Horse; and I also managed to play part of a 20 minute track from the new Godspeed You! Black Emperor album before running completely out of time (but don't worry, it crops up in full elsewhere in the Dandelion Radio schedule this month!).
This month's Peel's Big 45 is a 1960 Californian release, whilst this month's Educating Elizabeth track opens the show in tribute to the sad death of perhaps Motown's finest producer last month.

For those of you who listened to my October show you'll have learnt that Hong Kong Garden is now officially RIP. I've renamed the show "Ring of Fire" and aim to encompass music from all of the countries in or around the Pacific. Rules are made to be broken so if I do receive music from the region that I feel is worth broadcasting but happens not to come from a pacific country I will be playing it.
For this the first Ring of Fire show and I've gone somewhat over the top with a five hour show and started with what is always a bone of contention at Dandelion ... a chart.
I've always loved the charts. In the 70s and 80s yes they did bring the dross, Billy Ocean, Mud, Paper Lace; as we know, the list is endless. But I will never forget sitting around waiting to hear the Sex Pistols on the Radio 1 chart on a sunday evening and of course not hearing them which made the whole event even more exciting. Getting to see Roxy Music play Virginia Plain on TOTP is a chart highlight for me or the time we got to see the Roses & The Mondays on the same TOTP.
Like many others I've sat around for hours just to see hear that Diamond that managed to crawl into the lower reaches of the Top 40. I won't bore you with a lengthy thesis, suffice to say that I have no problem with charts and therefore you'll be sitting through a few hours of my favourite discoveries of 2012 if you choose to listen to the show. 'The vinyl train!'
A 100 percent vinyl show this month, with Marcelle bringing back new wax from various European cities where she is a resident DJ. Konono No. 1, Vladislav Delay, Bad News, A Made Up Sound, Indigo, Percussions, Joe, LV & Mundance, Pearson Sound, Perc, Bedouin Jerry Can Band and Rrose are in the pile of new records Marcelle plays.
Some creative associative thinking made Marcelle play a 1978 punk classic and a Wire classic is responsible for the name of a new Austrian ‘post punk style' band, Dot Dash. Wax Across The Water comes from Mamoud Ghania And His Son Abdellah and the Look Back Bore artists are Jah Wobble and Animal, Joe Crow and Nightingales. Highlight of the show is undoubtely the 990 'Henry Oakley', at work on the K.W.V.R. 'Joem' with a D.V.R. passenger train at York, Layerthorpe. On vinyl !

Mark Cunliffe:
As I gear up for Halloween I'm not going to make the same mistake as last year when I tried to go as a gothic Bungle from Rainbow. My mascara wouldn't sit right on the fur and looking like an inebriated brown panda was scaring no one except, possibly, Lin Bing of Chiang Mai Zoo....

What's in store on my show then? Gappy Ranks is using a rolling pin on some marjoram which Dermy D has heard all before. Mender is doing the Birdie Dance at Stonehenge which has caused Alex Young to go right down hill. Liminanas are touting for an army which Walton is telling them to simmer down about. Joob has produced something very unsavoury but BiggieDutch thinks it's all right. There are not one but TWO sessions this month, from the fantastic bass/future garage producer Cloaka and also from the Nottingham spoken word collective Mouthy Poets. All brought to you with no Bungling....well, no more than normal.....

It's eight years since the untimely passing of John Peel, and many of the artists championed by him are still going strong, as evidenced in this show by new tracks from Deerhoof, Beau, Tender Trap and The Orb with Lee 'Scratch' Perry.
Our 'Peel Back...' feature is specially extended this month to feature session tracks from the Peel shows of ten, twenty and thirty years ago plus a much-loved track from The Woodentops.
Session guests The Pocket Gods are on predictably fine form and they rub shoulders with cracking new releases from, among others, HARRY CLOUD, Bits Of Shit and Tiny Swimmers, advance previews of new releases from Snailhead, Dead Man's Tree and The Chasms and a couple of wonderful albums I picked up from performers at this year's Green Man Festival, from Glis Glis and Stealing Sheep.
There's another release from Hungarian favourites Opus Null, Croatians Crawander, another from the much-loved Flies on You and something from an album that was on my list of the year's best releases before it even reached me, courtesy of the wonderful Tender Trap. All this and three tracks from the Michigan Meltdown compilation of psychedelic goodies, not an especially new release but one that only just reached me and couldn't be ignored.

Paul Ackroyd:
20-minute special for Kamikaze on Dandelion Radio this month, in that all the tracks are somewhere in the region of 20 minutes long. Tune in for new bits from Berlin's excellent Pan Recordings from Eli Keszler and Aaron Dilloway & Jason Lescalleet; a synth party with Keith Fullerton Whitman; an ace but bleak collaboration between Charlemagne Palestine & Janek Schaefer; a minimal tribal piece from This Heat; some classical Indian warbling from Prandit Pran Nath; and a stompin' piece of street dance from Dominica and Haiti.
In Wax Across The Water this month, a very special record indeed - a third album of triple-deck compositions from our very own DJ Marcelle/Another Nice Mess, as she Meets Further Soulmates At Faust Studio Deejay Laboratory.
All in all a pretty splendid bunch of tunes..

The great Lord Numb provides a Halloween special session this month, with five spooky new tunes to get you through the witching hour. Darkness casts its ebony cloak across a good deal of the music this month, with tunes from D.E.A.D., Blanck Mass and Cheval Sombre, among others, so its a good job that we also have the second half of an exclusive mix from The Time and Space Machine to bring a little sunshine. Elsewhere, there's great new sounds from The Chasms, Blue Giant Zeta Puppies, Toy, GOAT, Deerhoof and Sun Araw, and golden sounds from three of the acts playing at this month's Manchester Un-Peeled all-dayer to celebrate John Peel Day.

There's a tribute section to the much missed Poly Styrene, and tracks from several eagerly awaited new albums, including Dinosaur Jr; Adrian Sherwood; and a preview of Dandelion Radio favourites The Chasms' forthcoming fourth album.
This month's Peel's Big 45 is a "list record" from 1967 whilst this month's Educating Elizabeth 7" is a midpaced Northern Soul floorfiller from 1969.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Although best known for 1976's "Young Hearts Run Free", Candi Staton has been making records from the 1950s to the 2010s, from Gospel to Soul to Disco to House.

After a summer sojourn in Portland Oregon I'm back in Hong Kong with all the newest tracks from the region.
First up Shanghai experimental noise duo Pairs are not far off releasing their 2nd album; "If This Cockroach Doesn't Die, I Will" a double vinyl LP recalling the days of Husker Du's Zen Arcade but sounding more like an early White Stripes meets Royal Trux. The album contains 17 songs about being young and trying to live in China's most (post) modern city, Shanghai. We start the show with a remix of the band's live pleaser, Permanent Resident remixed by french based Shanghai producers, The Horses. Later on in the show we also feature two more tracks from the album.
Talking of new albums ... HK Garden is more than excited to see that Melbourne act NO ZU have released their debut album "life" and what we've heard so far certainly lives up to expectation.
And we've also come across a new Cambodian duo ... Christopher Minko & Sophea Chamroeun. A simple voice and guitar duo that sing in both Khmer & English. Hope you enjoy the Tom Waits like "Mango Madness Monsoon Madness"

Marcelle:
'A rare show'

A collector's edition show this month from Marcelle. Not only is this the only Dandelion radio show to be recorded in the West Of Amsterdam, she also plays a lot of tracks from the very rare new 5LP African Guitar (wooden) box set on Mississippi Records. Marcelle also has a guest mix from listener Gerlo TV, who found no less than 318 techno vinyls on an Amsterdam street and decided not only to drag them all home but also made a mix of some of them, playing them at the wrong speed! Marcelle herself plays an African single bought in Berlin.
Besides there are new releases from amonst others Rrose & Bob Ostertag (a very rare collaboration, this is only their second release together!), Perc, Powell, Shed, Thought Broadcast, Aardvarck and Zhou. A new Four Tet 12" inspires Marcelle to play an ultra-rare Harpo (Marx Brother) LP and there's also the ultra-rare radio world premiere of Marcelle's new double vinyl mix album on Klangbad. And the Look Back Bores, all released 30 years ago this month, comprise of Cocteau Twins, Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, The Fall and Serious Drinking. What other radio plays those oldies all in one show these days? A rare thing indeed!!!

As I gear up for my yearly September pilgrimage to the Dundee Festival of Bulb Planting (no, I really don't make these up) what music can I plant into your brain for this month???
Well, humousexual are heading for the premium tuna whereas Guchon has a quantity of tent poles that any male porn star would well impressed with. Bonde do Role have gone back to childhood pranks and burst a packet of crisps behind you which has made you jump as high as TNGHT are going. Chi Ching Ching is as modest as they come which has given Cy Kosis the green eyed monster. There is a truly wonderful session from the 10 member, all female Georgian choir, Sathanao recorded live at their gig at The Voicebox in Derby earlier in the year.

Mark Whitby:
We've waited too long on this show for a session from The Tinopener's Art, and we finally remedy this appalling oversight as well as introducing tracks from other long adored and recently much-missed performers such as Mexican Institute of Sound, Dressy Bessy and Maria Minverva along with more from recently broadcast releases by Future of the Left and electric sugar children and new discoveries Flies on You and The Fall & Fall of England.
If irreverant noise is your thing, then check out fine releases from Jehosephat Blow, burglar fucker and another couple of Hungarian gems from Youth Violence and Broken Cups. And among our ever-popular cassette releases you'll find new releases from Batpiss and East Link.
Elsewhere, Argentinians Frikstailers rub shoulders with The Amphibious Man from Korea and Australia's Setec and we join the clamour of support for Russia's Pussy Riot - their music as well as human rights. Ragtime Frank pulls the blues apart and puts them back together again, The Locust disfigure some farmyard animals and MARCUS HP DAVIES and FORKEYES deliver their promised split release which, as expected, turns out to be an absolute corker.

Neil Jenkins:
For September, Neil has sat in his humid, sweaty studio to record an hour of this and that he thinks you'll like. In particular, he features the CD "Mir'ah" by the Cairo-born and Palesinian-resident Tamer Abu Ghazaleh, released on his own EKA3 Productions label.

Paul Ackroyd:
The dominant theme of this month's Kamikaze offering for Dandelion is the new 5LP Mississippi African Guitar Box Set, with a track from each of its ten sides within.
Also in the show, a look at some of the recent releases on the excellent L.I.E.S. imprint from, among others, Torn Hawk, Simoncino, and Unknown Artist. Two other Unknown Artists in the show too, plus a couple of new releases on Blackest Ever Black from Cut Hands and Flaming Tunes.

This month's Peel's Big 45 is a 1978 Jamaican release by Lee Perry, whilst this month's Educating Elizabeth 7" is a 1969 release from one of the great soul voices.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Glasgow's Centre For Contemporary Arts was formerly known as the Third Eye Centre, and was the venue for the recording of Ivor Cutler's classic 1978 LP "Life In A Scotch Sitting Room Volume 2".

As I spent most of the summer in Portland, OR (USA) putting on Metal Postcard's inaugural festival "Sometimes A Great Notion" it seems only right to feature some of the local music that the festival dug up.
So... in that spirit I feature Portland acts Pulse Emitter and Strangled Darlings. We were also lucky enough to have Peaking Lights finish the festival for us and to celebrate that fact we start the show with my favourite track of the year so far, their stunning "Beautiful Son".
