Tata Clan

I love finding new Korean groups to listen to. Last time it was Napoleon Dynamite and before that was Jekyll. My newest discovery is a group called Tata Clan.

I just found out about them yesterday, so I really don't know much about them. Their first album, Internet Killed Video Star, was released on July 17.

Just as the title says. I've found two really good Korean groups that I think need some more attention.

Jekyll

Found this rock group while searching around at YesAsia. They remind me of the Japanese group Janne Da Arc, due to the singers voice. Most songs I've heard are very much rock, but they have some poppy sounding ones too (like "Happiness", for example). They currently have two albums, The Message for Hyde from 2005 and The Lyrical for Hyde from 2007. I'd give the members names since they are in the album I have, but I can't translate Korean. D:

Since I can't find any videos by them at YouTube, I'll be posting a link to another site. Beware, it may take forever to load... If it doesn't work, search for them at Daum.net and you should be able to find some song samples.

Of course, I noticed them because of their name. Never thought I'd like them as much as I do. They are another new rock group. I've only heard samples of most of their songs so far, but they seem to have a nice amount of different sounding songs (rock, ballads, and some really crazy sounding ones). They have five members (나폴레용, 페드로, 싸이져, D, and 최선생, according to Daum) and released their first album, Nuclear Launch Detected, in 2008. They also had a song on the OST for the drama 얼렁뚱땅 흥신소... whatever that says.

Do As Infinity

Some sad news...

Rock trio Do As Infinity shocked fans and took the music industry by surprise yesterday, announcing that they are to break up after six successful years. A greatest hits album - "Do The A-Side" - is due for release on September 28 and the group announced through the Avex record label that they will disband the following day. The group will get back together for a one-off gig at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on November 25. The members each plan to pursue new projects and feel that breaking up the band is the natural next step. Vocalist Ban Tomiko (26) will record solo, guitarist Owatari Ryo (34) will continue his work singing and strumming with the band Missile Innovation, and songwriter Nagao Dai (34) will work as a producer and composer, particularly for the Avex female artist Amasia Landscape. Ban in particular has been diversifying in the last year or so, making her debut as a voice actress in last year's Inuyasaha anime movie, and recently appearing in a stage musical about Che Guevara. Do As Infinity debuted in 1999 after having played over a hundred times as a street band in Tokyo's youth mecca of Shibuya. In 2001, they had two No.1 albums in "New World" and "Deep Forest." Nagao began concentrating on songwriting for other Avex label artists such as Hamasaki Ayumi (27) and left the other two to do the stage performances.

Cool, I didn't see that there's a journal option now. ^^

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the next Gackt album. "Metamorphoze" is my favorite song by him. :3 Plus, I'm looking forward to the new w-inds. stuff. There's a single coming out, and there's supposed to be a remix CD, too. Can't wait!

Oh, and I can't forget about M-flo's next album!
