16 of the Top 100 so far are coming from the annual Eurovision Song Contest, it will be interesting to see which ones are actually going to make it in the end. In fact lots of preselection material for Eurovision too so far, but with the releases of material by Sam Sparro, Misha B and X Factor winners Little Mix the charts are bound to be shaken up.

Eurovision has always been a huge part of the preliminary chart, but last years end chart proves that only a handful of songs eventually make it through and hardly dominate the top ten. A handful might make it again but the entries produced by Cyprus, Sweden and Italy seem to be dominating the top ten so far. Paloma Faith, Will Young, new girl band StooShe and newcomer Azaelia Banks are also established and new acts which have achieved a top ten place so far.

A special mention goes to the runner up of last years chart, Gotye who continues his reign in this years chart on a 9th place so far. the new single 'Eyes Wide Open' was serviced to the radio this week and it will be interesting to see how well the single does, and whether it can get a same result as its predecessor.

Interesting chart so far. Only 6 months to go till we know the end result.

Looking at the top 100 so far I am quite surprised about the many Eurovision related songs can be found back in this top 100. Especially the top five consists out of 3 entries. Will be interesting to see whether these songs will be able to keep up on the top.

Without a doubt it seems to be the year for J.LO with On the Foor completely on top, and her latest single 'Papi' which is not being serviced yet here in the UK already in the top 100. the same counts for singles from Leona Lewis, Darren Hayes and the Sugababes all having a great start without being serviced to the radio.

Then there are the likes of maroon 5, Gotye and the Saturdays which without a doubt will go on to dominate the top 10.

And not to forget the many new tunes which are still going to be released in the next coming months.

Well we’re nearly there... Two more weeks and 2009 is officially over. So two more weeks and I am giving you a top 100 of the songs which I absolutely adored this year. It will be exciting to see which songs are going to be in the charts, quite a few making a chance to be the number 1 as well.

Anyhow, let’s have a quick recap of last week. Lady GaGa jumped from the 1st place to a number 3, while the Sugababes stayed steady on number 2 with ‘About A Girl’. And yes we had a new number one last week: Welsh vocalist Katherine Jenkins scores her very first number one with the Almighty Club Version of her ‘Bring Me To Life’.
