Yep, it's another top #, this time with my all-time favorite artist, David Boiwe.
This is the only guy i feel confident about buying an album of his music.

I have his two Best Of Bowie albums, very big albums, totaling 39 tracks, plus i have two extras, one of them the song which i discovered him through.

Out of all the tracks i have from him, here are the top 10 which i feel are his best works.

10. Jump They Say
Produced on March 1993, David made this for his half-brother Terry, who was a schizophrenic that commitited suicide on Jan 16th, 1985.
Featuring fast rythmn that really does make me feel like running and then jumping off, with a contempoary jazz feel.
9. Let's Dance
A really nice track to actually dance to <3 Apparently his come-back hit in 1983 after waning success since his Scary Monsters album.
8. Somebody Up There Likes Me
This was the song i discovered David Bowie through, played on K-DST in GTA:San Andreas. I loved hearing this while playing in the rain with my Hydra. Released with his great "Young Americans" album in 1975.
7. The Man Who Sold the World
This song has a great twangy beat and vocals, released with his great album Space Oddity in 1970.
6. Ashes To Ashes
This single continues the story of Major Tom, first presented in Space Oddity. Released in 1980, it was a strange track that was more upbeat than Space Oddity, that reflects the new presentation of Major Tom as a junkie. Wierd song, but the music video is just downright amazing.
5. Fame
This rock hit from his Young Americans album was released in 1975. After watching the music video, i must say i prefer the music in that version than the track from his album, with the addition of repeating and stuttering "Fame" as well as additional instruments that create whacky sounds.
4. Under Pressure
This collaboration between Queen and David Bowie is a great one, with the typical slow going and quiet intro that i've noticed in Queen's other songs, until a great energetic outburst of rythmn at the end.
3. Space Oddity
The track that made him famous and sparked off his career in 1969. It was used during the BBC live filming of the Apollo 11 moon landing. It introduces David's character aswell, Major Tom, presented in his other songs such as Ashes to Ashes.
2. Young Americans
The title track to his great Young Americans, this features a great upbeat rythmn and soul. An intresting fact about this song, when David played it live at the Giants stadium, he collapsed just after the line "Ain't there one damn song that can make me.." on stage, while the audience cheered on for 10 minutes until they got concerned. The line that was supposed to follow was "break down and cry", David pulled this move so he could see what kind of reaction his fans would get.
1. Life on Mars?
This is his greatest track of all time imo. Sung beautifully, the rythmn is the best i've ever heard when it gets to the chorus. It sounds like something that presents pride, it's such an inspiring tune. The music video is great too, his face with vibrant color despite 75% of it bleached in white.

Thats the top 10 of David Bowie, but i'd reccommend the whole Best of Bowie album. If you're into Soul, Glam rock or Disco, you'd love his music.

Honorable mentions:
"Heroes"
Golden Years
Fashion
Loving The Alien

Note: This has been copied over from my SWCity blog

I love the 80's, and some of the 70's, as many of you know. I despise much of the stereotypical music that comes out today, wether it be bubble gum pop, ghetto rap and hip hop or manufactured "hey, lets pick that guy off the street to sing"/American Idol crap

Much, as i have noticed, of the music from the 80's have better rythmn and feeling than music thats on the charts today. Most of these songs use Synthensizers, some 80's song did overkill on synths but these ones utilize them really well with proper instruments i feel.

These top 20 hits i've picked from my library feel like they last and will go down in history for a long time and not just throw aways that are continuously released today. I picked 20 because there's just so many great songs that i feel need to be on a top list, but i'll try to reserve the top 10 for the cream of the crop.

20. Obsession
Upbeat, just that intro is <3, the strong beats are great to dance or hum to.

19. Holding Back The Years
I love the guy and his music, wether it be Fairground or this one. Its got a nice calm melody and good vocals.

18. Carribean Queen
I'm not sure why Rockstar missed such a great song to include in Vice City, it would fit in <3.

17. Just Another Night
This one has a wierd beat and melody, but great none the less, vocals aswell. I like the -what sounds like- machine gun bit at the end with the strange fast melody

16. Send Me an Angel
I just love it when it goes to the "Send me an Angel" bits.

15. It's My Life

14. I Ran (So Far Away)
<3 Intro, slow but builds up into a great rythmn. Vocals kick ass. I like the music video aswell, wierd use of mirrors and their hairstyles are <3

13. Call Me

12. I Think We're Alone Now
This is a song that just sticks to your head. Tiffany's done a great job with this.

11. Bizzare Love Triangle
Who can resist the melodic bits between vocals, <3

10. Kids in America
Starting off the top 10, this just makes you feel warm and giddy about the child inside you, or something. "We're in the kids in america :D!" The music video is whacky aswell, i love her moves.

9. Daddy Cool
Boney M are the queens (and king) of disco, their hits bring back memories of crusing down kuwait's coast, when i first heard them. This hit especially <3

8. D.I.S.C.O
This hit makes me think of England in the 70's, not sure why, but its got that genuine oldies feel, really nice. Very catchy, like Y M C A.

7. Thriller
Behind that collapsed World Trade Center that his is looks, pride and dignity, Michael Jackson is a legendary Pop artist. Except for his more recent music. But it was his old hits that made him a legend, Thriller being the best one out of them.

6. Love Is A Battlefield

5. All Night Long
This is the best dance song to play in a club at full volume, with echo for added effect. <3

4. Self Control
When i first heard this song in Vice City,i felt i was really driving through downtown in the night, in an island called Vice City, in the 80's. I feel it sets what a genuine 80's melody should be like.

3. [track artist=Tears for Fears]Everybody wants to rule the world
Tears for Fears is my favorite group, their music is so fucking kickass. Smooth Synth Pop that is so good, two of their songs are on the list. This song really has strong feeling with the vocals.

2. Don't You Want Me
Holy shit, the rythmn and beat of this is incredible. So good that i even selected it for kareoke one drunken Goober Zone night and it was easy to go along with :O

1. Sowing The Seeds Of Love
And again, Tears for Fears. Very uplifting song with vocals that just make this song so kickass, with mental imagery of red, orange and black shiloettes and things, hard to explain.

So there you have it, the top 20 oldies hitlist by me.

And if you're intrested in my music library, http://toys.simplaza.net/library.txt
