Updated: 20th June, 2009.

Sorry for writing this entry in German... may be translated sometime ;o)

Vergleichbare Bands: Vanden Plas.

Nebenprojekte: Platypus, Jughead, Jelly Jam, Poundhound, Supershine.
Als King's X Fan sollte man sich auch Ty Tabor's Solo CD "Safety" anhören!

Paul Gilbert: Mein Lieblingsgitarrist!
"Get Out Of My Yard"; das klingt - im Gegensatz zu den neueren Werken einiger berühmter Gitarristenkollegen - recht "inspirierend". Paul ist einfach Kult! :o)

System of a Down: ... lassen es krachen!

Incubus: abwechslungsreicher "alternative rock bzw. crossover". Sollte man kennen ;o)

Groovt einfach ohne Ende :o)

Spin Doctors: irgendwie Fun-orientierter groove-rock, groesster Hit: "Two Princes", momentan eher untergetaucht...

Ansonsten natuerlich alles, was Groove hat ;o)

Hi,

this is a list of concerts I've seen (I surely forgot some):

BAP(German Rock Band, 1988 in Wolfsburg): My first rock show. They played for about 4 hours!
Mother's Finest (ca. 1990 in Hannover, w/ Fury In The Slaughterhouse)
Living Colour (1990 in Hamburg): the show was OK, but they had a very raw sound (you could also call it "way-out" or "grubby").
Mr. Big (1991, w/ White Lion): This was awesome, because my arm was in a cast and Eric Martin put his autograph on it after the show. Besides, Paul Gilbert and Billy Sheehan used their electric drills playing "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy". The show was very short (45 min.) 'cause they only were the supporting act. Nevertheless, it was one of the greatest concerts I've seen/heard ;o)
Extreme (1991, Hamburg)
Joe Satriani (1993, Hamburg, w/ Adrian Legg): Adrian Legg opened the show and (as he looked quite like a retiree or "stray grandpa") the crowd was apalled at first, but after 1 or 2 songs we all were enthusiastic about his accoustic guitar playing. Joe was awesome as ever.
Van Halen (1993, Hamburg): Yes!! I saw Eddie van Halen live! (I could defend my place in row 3 for about 30 min. against the 10.000 pushing fans). This was like meeting the Creator in person... In recent years, Eddie has degenerated to a pathetic alcohol addict who has seemingly lost his creativity...
Dream Theater (3x 1995-2005, 2x in Münster and 1x in Munich): 3 great shows. Each time a great experience!
Stevie Salas (ca. 1998, Hannover): Stevie has a great groovin' guitar playing style, but I didn't hear anything new of him recently.
King's X (2000, Bremen): RRRRROOOCCKKKK!!! I hope I will be able to see another KX concert soon.
Robbie Williams (2001, Köln): I had to go with my wife, because she really wanted me to... Actually, the show was surprisingly cool - he's a great entertainer and also played one hardcore-crossover-rap cover song, of which I forgot the original title/artist.
Steve Vai (2005, Munich): a dream came true, because I used to be such a big SV fan that I dreamed several nights about finally buying his first solo CD "Passion And Warfare" in the hard weeks of waiting for it immediately before its release in 1993. The show was OK (not very spectacular, actually) but he talked a lot to the audience and seems to be a really nice person.
Tool (2006, Munich, with Mastodon): Great show by Tool, unfortunately I missed Mastodon because I was late...
Incubus (2007, Munich, with The Duke Spirit): I really enjoyed the show, but unfortunately it was quite short (85 min.) w/o encore because the guitarist had to play with an injured hand.
Paul Gilbert (2007, Munich, with M.A.D.): Paul absolutely rocked! And he played the fast stuff accurately. This was surely one of my favourite shows ever...
Alter Bridge (2008, Munich, with Logan): They created a great atmosphere - the audience was zealous!
Tower Of Power with Maceo Parker (2009, Munich): TOP were (nearly) perfect (the singer seemed to sing off-key sometimes). I didn't like Maceo Parker that much - it was quite elegantly boring...
Mr. Big (2009, Munich) Yesss! They did rock! Paul was terrific as always - the sound of Billys bass solo was awful, so I couldn't really enjoy it. The last time I saw them was nearly 20 years ago... oh my!
Slayer (2010, Munich) Evil deafening wall of sound! :o)

t.b.c.
