Great show, and obviously a great set. The band rocked loud and hard, but every inch of Irving Plaza gave you a different sound perspective and the venue just plain stinks. The highlight that will always be remembered is the band stopping during E.S.P. to make an announcement that the NYPD were investigating a car that appeared to maybe be carrying a bomb. Stardeath and White Dwarfs really surprised me with their heavy and in-your-face music. Lips put on a near-perfect show with a lot of craziness in between. Not my favorite album, but surely a fun one to rock to on a nice fall evening. Badlands/Spirit of the Night were nice to hear right in front of the set. Darlington County/Working on the Highway/Downbound Train were certainly highlights of Born. The band really knocked these ones out and did a fantastic job. Surprisingly, Bruce didn't take an encore, and the show sort of just ended after Jersey Girl. It was great to get this Tom Waits ballad, but many seemed disappointed with the show's abrupt ending. Perhaps the band saw the rain coming and figured it would be best to roll it in...either way...the energy in the stadium was unmatched from any other time I have seen the Boss play the Meadowlands. It was a historic night...now we wait for Bruce's string of shows for "opening Giant's stadium."

October 9, 2009
East Rutherford, New Jersey
Giants Stadium
Night 5

Wrecking Ball
Badlands
Spirit In The Night
Outlaw Pete
Hungry Heart
Working On A Dream
Born In The USA
Cover Me
Darlington County
Working On The Highway
Downbound Train
I'm On Fire
No Surrender
Bobby Jean
I'm Goin' Down
Glory Days
Dancing In The Dark
My Hometown
Tougher Than The Rest
The Promised Land
Last to Die
Long Walk Home
The Rising
Born To Run
Raise Your Hand
The Last Time (Rolling Stones)
Waiting On A Sunny Day
Seven Nights To Rock
Kitty's Back
American Land
Jersey Girl

It was a great night from start to finish. After Jungleland, the set slowed down to a near slow-dance pace, which I feel hurt the evening a little bit--but hey, at 60, Bruce deserves some downtime.
