No Knock: To be slipped into Arizona's suggestion box - Gil Scott-Heron & Spec Boogie

From what I've heard, it seems, Gil Scott-Heron did not play No Knock in his 14 July 2010 set (Somerset House, London), which is a disappointment - since, I think - in view of the fashionability of 'racial profiling' (e.g. in 'anti-terror' & Arizona immigration laws), this song is esp' poignant!

The song was first released in 1972 on Free Will (when he was working esp' closely with Brian Jackson). It's also available as No Knock (2001 Remastered - Master Take) & No Knock (2001 Remastered - Alternative Take)._{70s / best of 1972 / 1972 albums}

An updated take, on the song, comes to with Spec Boogie's No Knock.

The Last Poets are set to play at The Barbican (London, 11 Sept 2010) - with The Roots & David Murray - I hope this proves to the less, seemingly, politically neutered - for Babylon remains a Mean Machine. Salaams, people x

Something odd happened, to me, yesterday! Most of you will be aware that subscribes see Recent visitors to their profiles, at about 15:30, my profile page looked like this ...

... grey lines mark where irrelevance is cut out.

Zooming on the 'Recent Visitors' section, we see ...

... three flying people!

Now, I am well known to have a special fondness for all things faerie-like - do Shantella, Keyser & Kika have some conspiracy ...

... or is it just about time there was a group called, something like, Monty Python's Flying Scrobblers?

BBC Introducing To Syndicate Unsigned Music Online e.g. Last.FM & $potify?

I fondly remember seeing W.I.T. and Larry Tee at The Egg, 25 May 03, as part of the LED Festival weekend. W.I.T. were promoting their excellent album Whatever It Takes but, since, seem to've moved on to other things.

They were a great electroclash band, exuding a Barbarella tinged feminism and're widely missed. So, I was delighted to find footage from their La Sala Rossa, Montreal show (28 Jun 2003). Here they are, performing I Surrender.

Their only streamable track on Last.FM is Ooh I Like It. If you'd like more tracks, please tag them streamable track wants and maybe someone'll take the hint.
