Heineken Open'er - Gdynia, Poland

Fri 4 Jul – Heineken Open'er Festival 2008

I can be oficially proud of Poland. We have an amazing, ass-kicking and stunning festival, where Paul Banks shouts Poland, Poland! to the microphone. And despite the inconveniences, loneliness in the (incredibly huge) crowd and doubtful organisation - I love this shit.

Highlights:

Interpol - One of my favourite bands. They made me realize, once again, why I love them. Beautiful show, pure perfection. Sexy, elegant and sophisticated. Interpol - welcome back to my life! I'm not going to lie: Obstacle 1 is the best single ever. NYC and No I In Threesome are still playing on and on in my head.

Erykah Badu - It was my most expected performance and I was stunned. I fell in love with this magnificent woman and her music. Trent Reznor was right - also about the fact that she's sexy... I've even shed a tear when she explained the meaning of her new album and described the "4th World War" movie. The power actually is in the people! Soldier was the best moment of the whole festival - absolutely unforgettable.

Róisín Murphy - Even when it's one o'clock in the night, she's powerful, magical and hot. Ruby Blue sounded delicious.

Editors - One of my favourite live bands - the energy is almost overwhelming. I could listen to Smokers Outside The Hospital Door all my life and still wouldn't get bored. At all.

Thanks to Open'er I fell in love with Massive Attack. Why not sooner..? I'm glad I was able to see them live and check their music out.

I also liked Goldfrapp, The Chemical Brothers, The Raconteurs, The Cribs and even JAY Z.

Amazing three nights. See you next year, Gdynia!

PJ Harvey - Live In Warsaw

Last night I've experienced a live concert different than any other before.

I've never been a fan of PJ Harvey, which makes my astonishment pretty unique.

She's a friend of Josh Homme and the Desert Sessions they've done together were one of the most interesting artists collaborations I've ever heard. But, to be perfectly honest, I did not come across PJ's music. Somehow.

Till last night.

Concert in Warsaw was truely amazing, especiallly according to the fact, that she was playing all by herself.

Polly has a new fan. (And please note, that I see it as a shortcut from fanatic)

..is there anything that could be more beautiful than infatuation..?
