I'm not overly fond of most of the songs off of their first album mainly due to the underlying themes of most of the lyrics. It just sounds a lot like any other generic boy band crap. Seems a bit non-creative to me.

I saw Rise Against (along with Flogging Molly and the Black Pacific) in concert--won tickets through a local radio station somehow--so that explains why they have top plays:P I listened to Alexisonfire a lot this year as well, mainly because after I heard about the break-up I was pretty upset and wanted to just sit and listen to them. If you didn't already know, blink-182 released their first CD this year after a very (too) long hiatus, so I really got into listening to them again. Especially their first single, Up All Night, which I was pretty obsessed with. MCR came out with a new CD as well (last year, though) but I only listened to it once at that point, but then this year I started listening to it more and fell in love. Most of the rest of these artists were either new discoveries that I listened to in an almost obsessive manner, or were otherwise just old favourites I could never stop listening to. Social Distortion also released a new CD after a too long hiatus (longer than blink's :O) which I really enjoyed. They're my all-time favourite, so I'm a bit confused as to why they're not higher on this list. This year was a sad year in music, though--Fightstar, Thrice, and Thursday all went on hiatus (Fightstar will be making more music at some point, though; the latter, two, however? Probably not) and Alexisonfire broke up. I also realized I listen to a lot of bands that have put out maybe one or two CDs and then stopped. Also, I really wish I Am Ghost would figure out whether or not they want to be a band. They've had some great stuff so far and more wouldn't be a bad thing.
