TRANCE ENERGY es un acontecimiento holandés de música electrónica dedicado al TRANCE DJ MUSIC. Es organizada por ID&T y está en funcionamiento desde 1999 una vez al año, en el centro de convenciones de Jaarbeurs en Utreccht (Holanda)

En su nacimiento, la mayoría de los espectadores eran holandeses, pero ahora existem muchos visitantes internacionales, venidos de todas partes del mundo. Esto es debido a que el acontecimiento gana fama mundial rápidamente.

Hoy, este es el principal acontecimiento Trance del globo, participando de él, los mejores DJs Trance del mundo (otros acontecimientos parecidos se caracterizan por ofrecer otros estilos de música electrónica).

Política de la droga: Apesar del hecho de que este acontecimiento se realize en Holanda, mismo las drogas blandas no estan permitidas dentro del recinto, esto es debido a que se impone una política de tolerancia cero respecto a drogas en todos los acontecimientos realizados en Jaarbeurs. Muchos visitantes no preparados se quedan muy decepcionados cuando sus drogas son confiscadas o son multados en la entrada. De cualquier manera, todavía es posible encontrar personas que consiguem transportalas al interior del recinto para el uso personal en sus ropas interiores.

Después de 2003, las ediciones del Trance Energy fueron divididas en 3 grupos principales situados en distintos salones del centro de convenciones de Jaarbeurs y conectados por pasillos:

* El “Mainstage” (capacidad: 20 000 personas) es donde los DJs de la noche hacen sus performances. Cada presentación se realiza generalmente entre una o dos horas, con performances impresionantes con lasers, luces, fuegos artificiales, bailarinas... La instalación es la típica deste tipo de presentaciones: decoraciones minimalistas con el ambiente siendo creado por luces y por elementos estructurales. Solamente su tamaño la hace distinta a las demás.

* El “Madhouse” (capacidad: 5000 personas) controlada generalmente por el DJ Jean, que toca la música de la casa y del club.

* El salón personalizado anualmente (capacidad:5000 personas) donde un trance más radical que en el Mainstage es tocado.


* A partir de 2007, un cuarto grupo fue adicionado, el “hardstage” donde se tocan los derivados más fuertes del Trance. La ID&T no puso a la venta mas entradas debido a este nuevo grupo, que fue instalado en la area Chillout. Ponemos suponer que este salón se transformará en una característica permanente del Trance Energy.


A los visitantes son ofrecidos otros servicios, que incluyen un sistema gigante de lockerbox para que puedan guardar sus ropas en la entrada del recinto una area de alimentación situada también en el área de Chillout.

ARE YOU READY TO TRANCE ENERGY?

Trance Energy is a Dutch dance event featuring trance DJ. It is organised by ID&T and has been held from 1999 to the present day in various venues in the Netherlands twice a year. Traditionally, there was a "small" edition and a big edition each year. In 2002, the small edition failed to sell out its 20,000-person ticket capacity (only 15,000 tickets were sold) and thereafter, Trance Energy was only held once annually, at the Jaarbeurs convention center in Utrecht, Netherlands where it has since been sold out each year.

While audience in the first years was mostly Dutch, there are now many international visitors, mainly from the European Union but sometimes from other areas around the world. This is due to the festival earning worldwide fame thanks to bootlegs of DJ mixes and some official videos of former editions.

Drug Policy: Despite the fact that the party is held in the Netherlands, even soft drugs are not allowed inside the party. This is due to the municipality of Utrecht imposing a Zero Tolerance Policy to all events held in Jaarbeurs. All persons who enter are patted down and searched for illicit drugs. Such zero-tolerance policies at dance parties are now becoming common in the Netherlands and are even stricter in cities like Arnhem. Despite this, it is still possible to smuggle in drugs for personal use in one's underwear, for example. Many visitors are not prepared however, and get very disappointed when they either get their drugs confiscated or are fined at the gate.

Past 2003 editions of Trance Energy usually focus on three stages located in different halls of the Jaarbeurs convention center and connected by corridors :

* The "Mainstage" (capacity : 20 000 people) where headline's DJs of the night do their sets. The sets are usually between one and two hours long. Impressive light show with lasers, lights and fireworks are featured along with some acts (dancers, live, ...). The setup is quite typical of a "classic" trance party: Minimal decorations with most of the ambience being created by lights and the structural elements used to rig them. Only the size makes it different.

* The "Madhouse" (capacity : 5000 people) usually managed by DJ Jean (a famous DJ in the Netherlands) which features more house and club music. This stage has sometimes been criticized by some of the visitors who find the music played there too distant from the "trance" theme of the event. Along with DJ Jean, others DJs play there during the night.

* An alternate stage whose name changes each year (capacity : 5000 people) where edgier trance than on the mainstage is played. This stage often features very famous names who are able to take more risks musically speaking than what they would be allowed on the mainstage. As a result, it is not uncommon for some artists to do a performance on the mainstage and do another one on the alternate stage like it was the case with Armin Van Buuren at the 2006 edition.

Since 2007, a fourth stage has been added, the "hardstage" featuring harder derivatives of Trance Music. Contrary to expectations, ID&T did not issue more tickets due to this stage which was installed in the chill-out area. This stage has also been announced for 2008 edition so we can assume it will become a permanent feature of Trance Energy.

Visitors are provided with many services including a giant lockerbox system (for visitors to put their clothes at the entrance of the party) and an efficient food and drink service located in the Chillout area.

* Desde 2007, um quarto grupo foi adicionado, o “hardstage” onde se toca uns derivados mais duros da música Trance. Ao contrário das expectativas, ID&T não emitiu mais bilhetes devido a este novo grupo que foi instalado na área de Chillout. Este estágio foi anunciado igualmente para a edição 2008 e 2009 assim que nós podemos supor que se transformará em uma característica permanente do Trance Energy.

Aos visitantes são fornecidos outros serviços que incluem um sistema gigante do lockerbox (para os visitantes guardarem suas roupas na entrada do evento) assim como uma área de alimentação e bebidas situada também na área de Chillout.
