I sometimes have a fickle and immature taste in music that causes me to play a song to death for about a week and ruin it for everyone around me.

Lately this tendency has manifested itself as what I've been calling the "Song of The Week!" There is usually a new song for every successive weekend's festivities so if things go as planned I'll post a new song of the week every Thursday.

This past week's song of the week was John Mayer's version of Free Fallin' (Acoustic). It was kind of a slow weekend. I went to see my folks in Ohio and had to go back to work in Mississippi on Monday after 5 weeks off in the summer of love in Milwaukee, WI.

The Kinks This Time Tomorrow had it's week. Brought to you by Pepsi Americas. I think it was in Darjeeling Limited, too.

The one before that was Don't Wait by Dashboard. It was his opened when I saw them at Summerfest. Earning it Song of The Week as soon as the title was up for grabs.

Rilo Kiley had him beat that week, though, with her gem Silver Lining. It was hot 6 months ago, I know. But I like it now.

The week prior we got a little too obsessed with the new Kanye song. It's not even his song, it's Estelle's song. But he's on it and it's called American Boy.

Before that I was still in Mississippi and the song was You'll Accomp'ny Me. Post the artist and song name (and album title if important) to the comments and also leave as much info as you can about the sample, as in the example below:

Response to example: a.) This is of course the spoken word intro to Hit Or Miss, the first track on Nothing Gold Can Stay by New Found Glory. It is sampled from the movie The Outsiders based on the S.E. Hinton book of the same name and is a reference to a Robert Frost poem.

Other responses need not be quite so thurough. If you can guess the artist and song/album title (whichever is important) it is a correct response.

My intention with this is not only for everyone else to try and guess but also because I hope to find out where these samples came from. If someone knows the source perhaps we may all gain some insight on why these were chosen to be incorporated in the song/album because some of these don't seem to have anything to do with the music.
