Since it's been a long time since I wrote an entry, (well to me it is...), today, I'm writing about how I get new music to my library and what songs I download from them.

Since I'm into Korean stuff right now, I'm currently trying to get some Korean artists into my library. How do I go about it? Well, I have been browsing LJ lately. And I came across this profile. She has this section called "What's in my MP3 player?" and she's listed artists according to the main language they sing in. She's primarily into Japanese music but she's got some Korean, Chinese, French and Indian.

I see the artists in the Japanese category and thought that she's got some rock(eg. MIYAVI & Gazette) and pop(eg. Utada Hikaru & KAT-TUN) in it. It's good enough to go on for me.

So I <del>randomly</del> picked SE7EN. Then I went to Se7en's handy-dandy Last.FM profile page and looked at their charts. You can see that for Se7en, majority of the users agree that Baby U, Them Girls and The One is "the best" out of all the tracks he's produced.

So I opened up my Frostwire and search for those three tracks. Then I sample them for <del>24 hours</del>.

And that, ladies and gentlemen is one of the ways how I, Incorporated, get new music.

Well, the second way is to see movies and if the tracks chosen in the movie are good, I also download some of them.

So, that concludes today's rant.

Over and out!

Crap. That's all I can say. Just a big fat crap of a situation. And this big fat crap of a situation relates to the breaking down of my stupid $500 worth of a useless junk, a Toshiba Gigabeat music player. And a friend. A s$&t s&*!@#d f@#k of a friend. That's how I think of her right at this current moment.

And my dumb dumb mistake of a 'heart'.

Let me elaborate. Just a few months after being a proud owner of the Gigabeat, this friend, we shall address her as...QW. Well anyway, QW asked if she could borrow the Gigabeat. Being a friend and me being such a wimp to say 'no', I lend it to her.

I don't have a clue what happened. But all I was thinking was how in fuck's world could she have dropped MY $500 player onto a fucking CEMENT GROUND.

Please just tell me this.
Tell me how the fuck in fuck's fucking world could a 'friend' drop something like a five-fucking-hundred dollars worth of a player onto a fucking cement ground. And laught it off with me.
Fuck's sake...

And so, last week was the second time the Gigabeat broke. Sent it in for repair today. And the technician said to me that considering that there is a very visible dent near the battery compartment, I would have to wait for a call tomorrow to see if this repair would still be done with zero cost under the warranty.

If it does not come under the warranty, there would be a fee incurred.

And I sure as fuck am NOT paying that fee considering I forked out five hundred for the Gigabeat. I just have to find myself the courage to tell her she would have to pay for it.

Cause I sure as hell ain't forking a single cent anymore for the damn thing. No way, Jose.

I feel this...burden lifted off my shoulder just by venting this problem. And I know I'm mostly wholely to blame for this fiasco but I just feel angry. How dare she laugh if off after she drop my freaking fucking expensive player. How fucking dare she.

Ok, so it's quite apparent that I'm still 'a little bit' angry over this thing what with all those lovely usage of the four-letter-word. I tried to contain myself. I really did try but this is just too much.

One thing's for sure about this that I think/hope to happen.

1 -- I know I am at fault for lending her this thing.

2 -- She will be paying the fee if there was a fee incurred.

3 -- I am not lending the Gigabeat to anyone else. Ever again. Ever.

I learn my lesson. Plase let there be no fee coming my way. Please.

So I restarted Windows a few days back. It was crapping up again. After being greeted with the default Windows setting and all that jazz, one of the first things I did was download the latest Last.FM client available and WinAmp.

Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to get the tracks scrobbled?

I installed and re-installed the latest Last.FM client but to no avail. I set the permission on Sygate Firewall to always allow Last.FM client to access the internet. But it was not being a nice biatch. So I resorted to the 'ye olde' client and that was not easy at all. I installed and re-installed that a couple of times. The status was constantly 'Handshaking in progress'. And the cache file just got bigger and bigger.

Finally, I allowed Sygate Firewall to allow WinAmp to always access the internet. And what do you know...the damn thing starts scrobbling.

These were some of the 'emotions' I felt from start to end. From downloading the clients to finally getting the tracks scrobbled.

Joy
Frustration
Anger
Uselessness
Hope
Frustration again.
Anger. Again.
Hopelessness.
Want-to-install-some-TNT-in-the-computer
Last-ditch-effort
Happiness

I would have made the TNT fantasy to reality but a few problems were encountered like...

Unable to get my hands on some TNT, do not want to clean up after the mess created, unable to get a new computer if this one had been affected by some TNT..those sort of things.

I hope you re-installers would have learnt something from the errors that yours truly had made. And would have a much less frustrating time than me.

By the way, a plug to Floating Couch. They also have an artist page here. Floating Couch. Their style I thought is rather electronic-lounge.

Well, hello!

I've been without a good, steady, reliable internet connection with the sound working for a good six months now I estimate. But after having everything right up to downloading the Last.FM scrobbler thing going, it was still with problems. It somehow wasn't sending the tracks scrobbled for a few days now. But because I am just that good, I fixed it. It works now.

Yes, I am that jolly. Downloaded Limewire so I've got everything I need now. Wasn't so hard.

I've just recently downloaded Mama and some Goldfrapp songs. I really recommend Ooh La La. A lot of crime shows use that song, especially the chorus, for some hot steamy scenes. Seriously. I heard it on the CSI:LA show.

I've just recently started college again. But thank God it's the last year. I don't know how much more I can take the college life. Can't wait to see my name on a university's roll actually.

Currently, college classes are rather bearable too. So that's a good thing.

Did I mention, today is Chinese New Year? The year of the pig now. Well Happy Chinese New Year to you guys. Wishing you all a prosperous, healthy and wealthy new year!

Much love, Ashley.

Well, last night I finally came round to downloading some songs by Jack's Mannequin. So I currently got round to getting Kill the Messenger, Holiday for Real, Dark Blue and The Mix Tape. The first track I got was Kill The Messenger and out of the four I still prefer Kill The Messenger.

I've come to realise that I am a Last.FM group whore. I've joined to date, 32 groups. And you can bet that it's getting larger. I'm planning on joining the Jack's Mannequin group. And anything connected to that..

Am also still a fan of sudoku. I just can't help it! It's very 'mind consuming'.

Doing sudoku with Something Corporate or Jack's Mannequin playing in the background is just..heaven currently. So damn good! As one of the line in Holiday for Real, "Fuck Yeah!"

And I'll send her the rain..
Send her the rain..
