Let it be known, lyrics are pretty awesome :P I'm one who gets curious when I hear a new song, and then I'm like wtf are they SAYING? So yea, Lyriki makes lyrics awesome. It's free...and the lyrics are totally WIKIFIED so anyone can create new pages (artist, album, and song pages), and well, don't you hate it when you use Google to search for lyrics (NO, google lawyers say we aren't supposed to "google" for stuff...lol), and well, you find a pretty decent site...or so you think. So, you click the search result and you are given like 10 different cookies, and 3 different popups, and maybe some spyware to go along with it?

Well, lyriki doesn't have NONE of that. It's completely free lyrics, with no ads :)

As it stands:
There are more than 24,000 song pages at Lyriki.
Google recognizes (those pages in the index/cache) 46,600 pages

So, I got word of the Give It a Name Festival, over in the UK. There's some cool bands booked for that...soo, what I've been doing for other similar occurances, is gather the line-up (the list of bands on the tour/festival), enter them into last.fm/radio, and it creates a custom station composed of those, and other similar artists.

So, for this example,
My Chemical Romance, The Ataris, Atreyu, Thrice, Panic! At the Disco, Underoath, The Bled, Billy Talent, Men Women and Children, Drive By, Paramore, The Honorary Title, Taint, The Blackout, Gym Class Heroes, Bayside, Classic Case, Say Anything, Hundred Reasons, Silverstein, Aiden, We are scentists, Goldfinger, Angels & Airwaves, Taking Back Sunday, Lostprophets

Are all participating, so they get entered/pasted into the custom radio box. And a custom radio link is generated. Now, I would usually bookmark this link, and rename it to "Give It a Name Festival" or something like that. So, If i feel like listening to those (or closely related) bands, I just play that radio ;)

Do your self, the site, and your stats a favor; get your tags straight before listening to music that you download from unknown sources.
Sure, there's not much you can do, now that the tracks are submitted; aside from removing the track plays from your profile using the Profile + Tag Editor. But, I think it's a good action to take, find Morningwood in your artist list, click View Tracks, and remove the "bad" tag submissions.

And in the future, just tag your music with musicbrainz.org mp3 tagger, either Classic or Picard ;)

basically, what this does, is reads every directory within C:\ (my hard drive), and FIND(s) anything with .mp3 in the name, and then exports (>) it to a text file, mp3s.txt in my Documents and Settings\Username folder.

They have a webpage at [url=http://www.theblackmaria.com]THEblackmaria.com, and well, I did a search on here, for The Black Maria, and this OTHER band, called Black Maria showed up too, with like 82 fans, and well, who knows, that might be a tad outdated even, so it makes me wonder, how many USERS have The Black Maria in their profile, mistagged, as this no name, no picture, band called Black Maria?

hahah, and another variation, there's also Black Maria, The, with 21 fans.

I know how music and tagging is, everyone thinks THEIR way of tagging is > (greater/better) than someone elses version of tagging, but with a site like last.fm, for the data to be neatly organized and such, you got to come together and form a common ground.

So in conclusion, if you have listened to the artist known as The Black Maria, but have them in your profile as Black Maria, The, or Black Maria, you should use the Profile + Tag Editor to remove these wrongfully tagged bands to make the data consistent.

Sure, you will lose those listens, but there's nothing stopping you from re-listening to the tracks again, after you tag them properly as The Black Maria using the musicbrainz.org tagger, or any other available tagger.

Fans of The Black Maria, I urge you to spread the word, amongst the users, fans, and neighbors you see that have this band mislabeled as Black Maria, The, or Black Maria.
