Nazoranai + Nicholas Bullen at CBSO Centre, Birmingham on 9 Jul 2013

Location: CBSO Centre

The powerhouse trio of Stephen O'Malley, Oren Ambarchi and Keiji Haino perform a very special show at CBSO Centre on Tuesday 9th July. This is going to be loud. Nazoranai are psychedelic avant doom from "three undisputed masters in their field".

This will be one of only two UK shows.

"...It was one of those 'what now' moments you never imagine happening, having been a fan/follower of Haino's playing, concerts and recordings over the years. Five years later, somehow, we ended up as this trio. Haino, Oren and I were all in Holland for one reason or another and decided to try it. I played bass for the first time on stage with this group. Maybe it shows but the idea was a power trio backing up Haino-san, with a lot of amplification...It's hard to describe the lessons through real-time communication in music with such a master of form, but needless to say, they were much different than what I was expecting and beyond! Proof again that expectations lead to dead ends. Was a most challenging experience in real-time music. I feel incredibly honored to be part of this trio." --Stephen O'Malley

Nicholas Bullen (Napalm Death, Scorn, Black Galaxy) will be launching his new record Component Fixations at this event, released on Type Records.

"Over 25 years since that first Napalm Death release, Bullen is primed to release his debut solo LP through Type*. Component Fixations will offer “tape manipulations, drones and noise” spread over three long-form tracks. The album promises a synthesis of Bullen’s influences, with a particular emphasis on the electronic pioneers of the 1960s. Intriguingly, all the sounds on the record were directly sourced from field recordings made around Bullen’s house and garden" Fact

Jesus Juice Presents ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE on 13 Oct 2013

Location: The Flapper

After a two year absence from the West Midlands stage, Japanese psych Gods
Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso UFO return to The Flapper, the
scene of their legendary first Birmingham gig way back in 2001. The intimate
setting is sure to propel the band to another memorable and sweaty
performance, in the city that has many close ties with the band. The band
are now an expanded five piece and are currently laying waste to North
America before returning to their mountain top studio to record their latest
studio album in a humongous catalogue.

Forming in Japan in 1995, Acid Mothers Temple was originally a musical
collective of over 30 famous and unknown, musicians, artist, dancers,
farmers etc, formed in order to follow and document their multifarious
activities.

Over near 20 years and hundreds of releases on labels big and small the
world over, the core live band has whittled down to a respectable 5, led by
guitar guru Makoto Kawabata and have gained a reputation for being a
phenomenal live band. Never a band to be accused of phoning it in, Acid
Mothers Temple still leave their audience slack jawed and drooling with
tense, over the top live performances that rarely last below 90 sweat soaked
minutes. In fact given licence, you expect they would willingly carry on
playing until their amps literally gave up ... and what’s more, they have
... on several occasions.

Since forming, Acid Mothers Temple have toured the world over almost every
year building up their loyal fan base from the USA to China, from the UK to
Australia. The band never stop working. If they’re not out on the road they’re
tucked away in their own mountain top studio in Osaka making yet another
head expanding masterpiece.

‘The Melting Paraiso UFO’ incarnation is probably the best known of all the
collectives offshoots, both on the stage and on record. In 2001, this
incarnation became the first Japanese band to properly tour the UK for over
two decades. That tour went down in folklore for those that attended any of
the sold out club shows. And since then they’ve been back to the UK
virtually every year to build on that and create an almost cult like
following.

Showing little sign of slowing down, Acid Mothers Temple continue along
their own chosen path, ignoring trends, fashions and the temptation to
smooth out their sound for mass appeal. They instead continue to be an
underground legend, one that has given their dedicated followers and
themselves almost two decades of glorious loud, unhinged, out-there mayhem.
Long may they continue and in the words of the song ... GOD BLESS AMT!

A limited amount of early bird tickets are available now priced just £8.00.
