One of the perservering art forms of our day, and by God it is unique. For me, it's the experience that doesn't linger as long as the others, but in the moment it's a heaven the Christians couldn't even imagine.

Nico Muhly were a solid though inconsistent band - they had their highs and lows. Their instrumental tracks didn't do much for me, and a few numbers with pure-falsetto vocals grated a little bit. However, I loved the folk-tinged tracks that Sam played. The violist was strong and the drumming subdued. Their cover of Young's Only Love Can Break Your Heart Their finale was epic, grandiose, and an anatomy lesson of female body parts ---> fiddle besides. 7.346/10, Pitchforkian.

Owen was another story. I bought a t-shirt, hoping I wouldn't regret it. I didn't. Mr. Pallett tore my heart away, both with his music (impeccable), lyrics (perfectly flawed), visual artist (a useful distraction) and finally, looks (irresistible). He played This Lamb Sells Condos and This Is The Dream Of Win And Regine , which was more than I hoped for. (Ok, maybe Furniture). But his new material! Ephemeral, impressionistic, and half-finished, it sounded like, with a fluidity of momentum Newton would envy. Beautiful, brilliant, and his violin playing/looping along with his synth was enough work for a three-man band. His easy charm made me thirsting for more stage banter, and his figure was so slim, his bare feet vulnerable, that it almost crossed over into lust. Before I turn into a raving fanboy, 9.356/10.
