I have always loved music, since the frail beginning with my fathers guitar and Norwegian albums for children. I had quite a lot of both records and tapes of groups like Knudsen Og Ludvigsen and others aiming at children.

The first musical revolution came when I discovered The Beatles. My parents liked them a lot, and I think it is only natural to have a period in life when The Beatles is it.

I guess my father has been one of the greatest influences on the music I liked growing up. Both being fans of the guitar, we probably strayed a bit towards bands or artists where it was a natural part of the sound. These are bands I have probably "inherited" from my father: Dire Straits,Deep Purple,Bob Dylan,Pink Floyd,The Rolling StonesEric Clapton and loads of others.

I had a phase where what I lisened to came from every direction, tuning in to whatever was on the radio or tv. Probably not the proudest days of my music history, but I think it was part of creating my tolerance for most kinds of music.

Some years ago I found my favourite band during a local festival back home. During a two-hour concert with fantastic energy, an extatic crowd and songs going straight to the heart BigBang secured my unconditional facination. Many do not really get what I see in them, but to me they have always been top-notch.

Another Norwegian artist that I have "clung to" for some years is singer/songwriter Thomas Dybdahl. His melancholy, soft tunes and simple arrangements (for the most part) has really struck a chord with me and I can not think of any music I would rather sit down with when my day has not been going all to well.

Recently Indie has been forcing its way into my musical vocabulary and I could not avoid getting a couple of favourites. The one that truly set it all of was The Decemberists. I've had a lot of fun with them, and they opened the doors for many other bands such as: The Hold Steady, Joanna Newsome, Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire, The Shins and quite a few more.

In five days I am going to a The Apples In Stereo concert in Bergen. Trying to get into the music a bit right now.
