Op 1 oktober 2008 is op initiatief van de provincie Noord Brabant een
wedstrijd van start gegaan.
Dit project heet Brabantse Dorpen Derby, hierin worden burgerinitiatieven
ondersteund om de leefbaarheid in dorpen te bevorderen en waarin
dorpelingen hun idee of project (verder) kunnen uitvoeren. Tevens kan het
project dienen als voorbeeldproject en inspiratiebron voor anderen.

In de periode van 1 oktober 2008 tot 1 januari 2009 hebben 197 initiatieven
zich aangemeld. De jury van de Brabantse Dorpen Derby heeft uiteindelijk 10
projecten uitgekozen die zich finalist mogen noemen. Deze 10 finalisten
kregen afgelopen zaterdag ieder euro 10.000 om hun project verder uit te
werken.
Tot de 10 finalisten behoort het Dagcentrum de Pastorie uit Borkel en
Schaft. Namens Groenpark de Pastorie diende Riny Goossens, hierbij
ondersteund door de Dorpsraad, een voorstel in om de garage naast de
Pastorie te verbouwen tot een recreatie/hobbyruimte voor cliënten van
Valkenhof, die voor dagverzorging of Groenpark naar de pastorie komen.
Tevens is het de bedoeling dat de kinderen van de basisschool de ruimte
gaan gebruiken voor creatieve handenarbeid. Ook voor de avonduren kan hier
een invulling aan gegeven worden.

Het dorp van de winnaar ontvangt euro 50.000, te besteden aan
leefbaarheidprojecten in het eigen dorp.
Deze hoofdprijs wordt ter beschikking gesteld aan het gemeentebestuur
waarbij mensen van het winnende project, het gemeentebestuur en de
provincie in samenspraak bezien op welke wijze dit bedrag zinvol kan worden
ingezet voor de leefbaarheid in het betreffende dorp.
Na 7 februari kan iedereen een reactie plaatsen op de site van de Brabantse
Dorpen Derby van de provincie Noord Brabant. Kies voor Borkel en Schaft
want hoe meer reacties we krijgen, hoe meer ons project kans maakt op het
winnen van de hoofdprijs.
Steun ons als klein dorp en STEM s.v.p. op Borkel en Schaft.

Wij zijn enthousiast en wij zijn er van overtuigd dat jullie net zo
enthousiast van ons project zijn.

Donkere, mistige dag. Echt vrolijk word je d’r niet van. Zeker niet als je zondags te horen hebt gekregen dat ’t niets word met de liefde van je leven. Principes die je opzij moet schuiven, omdat ze niet kloppen met de realiteit. Je hele leven kijk je al uit naar die ene persoon, die wel bij je losmaakt wat voor anderen heel gewoon schijnt te zijn. En dan nota bene, zoent ze je ook nog. Als je dan een week of 6 verder bent en je krijgt te horen dat ’t nooit iets wordt. En dat je ’t maar moet vergeten. Ja, dan stort je wereld toch wel weer even in.
En je wilt wel geloven dat ’t goed komt, en dat er meer zee zwemt in de oceaan. Maar ja, echt dichtbij zijn de oceanen niet. Je kunt ze niet zien, zelfs al had je een verrekijker. Echt vrolijker word je niet van dergelijke opmerkingen, al bedoelt men ’t goed. Laten we dat maar in het achterhoofd houden. Slechter word het toch niet. Of wel? Wat kan er nog meer fout gaan? Alles is toch al een mislukking. Someone who pulls you out alive. Maar je dan weer keihard terugschopt. Zonder dat ze het in eerste instantie wist. Want hé, je was toch gewoon die hele goede vriend die haar kwam steunen en knuffelen toen zij het moeilijk had, nadat haar relatie was beëindigd?
En dat je dan gevoelens krijgt. Oprechte gevoelens en zeer grote verlangens, dingen waar je nog nooit notie van hebt genomen. Ze bestaan. Daar heeft men ’t dus altijd maar over. Vroeger walgde je van de mensen die ’t altijd maar over dergelijk, onkuis gedrag hadden. Nu begrijp je ze.
Maar ’t klopt niet in je hoofd. Je wilt alleen maar met haar. Dat zou ook moeten kloppen. Je hele leven wacht je op die éne persoon. En daar is er ook maar één van. Die éne die je met de wereld van het verbodene laat kennismaken. Die éne is de ware. Voor altijd. Tot den dood ons uitschijt.
Zo moet het zijn. Dat is politiek correct. Dat is economisch incorrect. Want ’t verkoopt.
Als iedereen zo denkt. Waar zou de wereld dan zijn? In een veel higher level dan nu, dat kan ik je wel vertellen. Niemand weet wat ’t met je doet. Je vertelt ’t ook niet. Er zijn geen woorden voor. Geen enkele zin komt in de buurt van hoe ’t werkelijk zit. En geloof me, je wilt ’t vertellen, je wilt ’t kwijt. Maar je wilt ’t niet genoeg. Want die éne. Dat is tóch de éne. The One!
En die moet je niet willen vergeten. Ook al zegt ze dat ’t beter is. Je voelt je gekwetst en gebroken, en ’t komt nooit meer goed. Dat doet ’t ook niet. Je houd altijd nog een litteken, of zal ik zeggen lidteken. ’t Is een openbaring, hoe dan ook. En pijnlijk feit, maar wel eentje waar je niet onder uit komt. Eentje waar je overheen moet. Al is de berg nog zo hoog. De top is niet eens inzicht. Het hoogtepunt evenmin. Maar waar is dan de zin? De zin van het bestaan, als je die ontnomen word in een knippering van het oog? Als de regenboog een wankel testbeeld word, en de tv allang is uitgestorven? Waar moet het heen, als het slotakkoord valt in ’t midden van de symphonie? (Maar als dat dan een halfslot heet (thanks Loes), dan staat de deur toch nog op een kier?) Waar blijft het vuur? De allegro? De accenten van puur koper? Waar is de breekbare sopraansolo die zich openbaart alsof het kind ter aarde komt? Waar is het feest der eeuwige trouw?
Alles valt in duigen. Alsof ’t nooit heeft bestaan. Thans, in andermans ogen. In andermans ogen.
Maar dat was zondag. Ik was er zondag en gisteren goed ziek van. Serieus koorts en misselijk en al ’t kwade dat een lichaam je kan bieden. Het was er. Maar ja.. gisterenavond veel SMSpam gekregen met de liefste knuffeltjes.. En dat helpt. Altijd.
Dus vanochtend toch maar alle moed bij elkaar geschraapt, The Bravery op de iPod.. en op naar het werk.. Eenmaal opgestart.. Rammelt msn je meteen in je maag.. Honger? Ontbijten? Ach wel nee, dat is veel te gezond. Het eerste bericht vliegt je om je oren. Het is haar. Die éne. Welke van de één? Ja, die éne! En wat vertelt ze? Je was in haar droom vannacht. En je ging met de trein naar Saybia. Huppakee, dan gaat ze weer.. Aan ’t werk. Wat een smoes. Dromen met mij erin… en dan gaan werken? Dat is niet de manier. Maar ’t gebeurd. Dus ik ook maar verder. Met mijn werk.
En vanavond naar de fanfare. Zondag “groots” concert… dus dat wordt me wat.

They finally have their new EP online. It's called Fonky Jazz. All songs on this new EP are sung by their new singer Hanneke Gudden, who is imo just amazing!
Their jazzy songs combine funky, poppy and fusionetic sounds into the warm jazzy vibe you'll need to get into a breezy summer mood. Imagine the vocals of Sara Bareilles or Maria Mena singing over the music by Wynton Marsalis or Duke Elliott... You just have to love it!

Next to this, Channel 7 will be performing at Muziek Kaffee De Kroeg in Geldrop next Friday. Together with Seven Feet Spine, if I remember it the right way... Ooow.. their EP is up for Free Download over at the Discography section of www.channel7.nl. Have fun!

Because last weekend we went to Lowlands Festival!

Once again, sorry for my bad English... It was a marvelous, orgasmic weekend full of joy, happiness and MUSIC! :)

A short summary of what we did:

I left the house on Thursday morning.. like.. 07.30 AM.. ^^

And we took the bus to Eindhoven Central station, after I drove my car to a friend of mine, Irma.

We had a nice, enjoyable trip to Biddinghuizen by Train.. and bus...
