Less than two weeks to go until the Shambhala Music Festival, and in preparation, I thought I'd put together a little radio station to listen to while I'm packing etc. I give you shambles 2007 radio!

sasquatch lite

Too bad I'm not making it to Sasquatch this weekend. Thankfully I'm satisfied with seeing two of the main headliners over the past two gorgeous evenings, Björk and The Arcade Fire. If these two shows are any indication, the gorge goers are in for a supremo festival experience. Of the bazillion other cool bands in attendance, I'll most regret missing M.I.A. (who apparently cant make it anyway) and Spearhead (whom I've seen many times, and will see many more to be sure).

Björk was a last minute surprise, but sooo worth it. Heard some grumblings she didn't play many of 'her hits' like, Big Time Sensuality etc, but Volta is so strong, it mattered not. Didn't get any pics from this show, but they are out there. Clearly she's the cutest pop artist ever! "s'nk you."

After my indoctrination to the Arcade in 2005 (omg, that seems like a long time ago), I was more than excited about the sequel at deer lake park.

They are so damn artsy!

My fav part was in the encore during My Body Is a Cage. Win was singing in the back playing the organ, and his face was projected onto the blank head of a cardboard cutout which was front and center stage. I'd love to see if anyone got a good picture of that, and will post it here if I find one. As it is, this is the best i got. Still, way better than the first time

Last nights show was, as expected, totally rocking!

I am in fact, still bouncing all over the house to LCD Soundsystem, similar artist radio. Hearing lots of Out Hud and !!! on this station, who btw, are playing tonight at richards. (wish i had it in me to pull a double shift)

Alas, i think i will have stay home and rest with my sweetie. The month May still holds PLENTY of musical delights, which we must save energy and $$$ for. peace.

Sun 4 Mar – Lyrics Born, The Coup.
Crazy show last night, good crowd. The Coup was on point as usual. And Lyrics' rhymes flowed fast! Was it burning up in there or was it just me? holy crap. As can be seen in this picture,

there was hotness all over!

Sadly, I have heard these are among the last days for shows at Richards on Richards. Apparently pressure from the growing population of local condo dwellers is growing. It will be a sad day when this wonderful venue is shut down.
