Here we go with the 20 most signifcant songs for me in 2011:

20 - Adele - Rolling In The Deep It was the song of 2011 in the world, and it could not be out of my 2011. By the way it's a very good song
19 - Guillemots - Kriss Kross I came across their album Red and found out it was a very good album. The opening song is the stand out and was a very present song in my playlists in 2011
18 - 10cc - Clockwork Creep 10cc is a very inventive band. During they career, they produced many curious and high-quality songs. And this one is wierd, but fantastic.
17 - Kool & The Gang - Tonight This song does not sound so much like the others of theirs, but it sounds very well.
16 - Uriah Heep - That´s How I am It's a pity this song remains officially unreleased. It's a great Heep's song from Lawton era.
15 - Lady Gaga - Paparazzi Yes, Lady GaGa again, but if in 2010 it was because of the ever presence of the songe, now it's because of the quality. Surely her best song.
14 - Chicago - Colour My World A beautiful ballad. It ends abuptly, what makes you want to listen to it again and again.
13 - Elton John - Someone Saved My Life Tonight It is an Elton John's song that I've always overlooked. But in 2011 I started to like it a lot.
12 - Traffic - Evening Blue 2011 was a year of ballads from progressive rock bands (there's more to come). This one is very soft and easy to enjoy.
11 - Uriah Heep - Angels Walk With You Uriah Heep is probably the band that appears the most in these charts. This song from their 2008's album is here to prove that 40 later they still rock.
10 - The Beatles - Not Guilty The Beatles are such a fantastic band that even the unfinished and unreleased songs are very good. This one appeared only in Anthology albums, but would take a good part in White Album if released at the time. George has later released it as a solo version, but the earlier version is better.
09 - Rod Stewart - (I Know) I'm Losing You This song has many versions, but I prefer Rod's. His voice is perfect for rage, despair or disappointment songs
08 - 10cc - Baron Samedi This song about a Voodoo entity is another weird but fantastic 10cc song. If you like surprises, 10cc will never disappoint you
07 - Capital Inicial - Fogo Capital Inicial is a good Brazilian rock band. I didn't care for their songs until I discovered some gems they recorded during the 80s and early 90s.
06 - Supertramp - Hide In Your Shell Like Someone saved my life tonight , it's another overlooked song by an artist/band I really like that I started loving in 2011. It's very emotive.
05 - David Bowie - Life on Mars? While and after reading Marc Spitz's Bowie biography, I decided to give a listen to this discography. And it's a pity I had not discovered this terrific song until last year's last quarter.But better late than never.
04 - Small Faces - My Mind's Eye This easily enjoyable early-60s rock song was the soundtrack of some moments of relief during the year. Singing along the "aaaah" part when a nightmare is just over is priceless.
03 - Duran Duran - The Chauffeur In this year, I took so many flights because of my job and this song was the "flight hit", so it could not be classified worse. And, to sum up, it's a very good, although a little odd, song
02 - Gary Numan - We Take Mystery to Bed Very good dance track. The main "riff" is very addictive and makes you want to listen the song again and again.
01 - Bee Gees - And The Sun Will Shine After being a frequent presence on my top 20, Bee Gees finally got the #1 with this soulful and beautiful ballad. Robin's vocals are truly awesome. 20 - Alice Cooper - You and Me Maybe one of the best love songs ever made.
19 - Lady Gaga - Bad Romance Everywhere I went there was "Bad Romance", so here it is too.
18 - Paul McCartney & Wings - Mrs. Vandebilt Going to McCartney show certainly was one of the best moments of the year. I discovered this song because of the show and loved it instantly.
17 - Edward Maya - Stereo Love The accordeon riff of this song is catchy. As this song became a world mania in 2010, it could not be different to me.
16 - Jackson do Pandeiro - Feito de Manteiga I never thought I could like so much a song of this style. But its happy mood and with a very nice keyboard part made me listen to it many times this year.
15 - Ke$ha - TiK ToK Pop music came back to me strongly this year, and this was one of the best on the radio, different from her other songs that are awful.
14 - Matisyahu - One Day I usually don't like reggae, but it's very good. And it also has good lyrics with a beautiful message.
13 - Led Zeppelin - Ten Years Gone A little bit of classic rock on the list. Led Zeppelin has many masterpieces and this is another one.
12 - The McCoys - Don't Worry Mother, Your Son's Heart Is Pure The McCoys are best know by Hang on Sloopy, Fever and many other "Sloopy"'s soundalikes. But this psychedelic song of theirs beats them all by far
11 - Rainbow - Stargazer A heavy metal masterpiece. Very strong and with powerful vocal parts. I discovered this song shortly before Dio's death and maybe that's the reason I felt his death more than I expected.
10 - Porno for Pyros - Tahitian Moon Very good alternative rock song from the 90s.
09 - Oasis - Part of the Queue Since 2009 I've been having an Oasis revival. Due to this, I discovered this very good song this year.
08 - Marilyn Manson - Heart-Shaped Glasses (When The Heart Guides The Hand) Marilyn Manson making love songs is a weird idea. But the result was very good in this case.
07 - Bee Gees - Lemons Never Forget Almost every year there has been an early Bee Gees' song in top 20. This year was no different and this time it was this nice song with strange lyrics.
06 - Desmond Dekker - Fu Manchu Ten years ago another Dekker song (You can get it if you really want) played an important part for me. Now it's the time for this one with splendid keyboards. It's a candidate to the title of best reggae song ever.
05 - Chuckie - Let The Bass Kick The techno song of the year. The lyrics are completely useless, but the song itself is perfect for parties.
04 - The Stranglers - North Winds BlowingThe Stranglers are one of my favourite bands ever. And this year I discovered this wonderful song which since the first time I listened to it I thought "I have to listen to it once more".
03 - The Beatles - She Loves You The first song I remember loving (it was 1989 and I didn't even know what The Beatles were). 21 years after, it returned strongly. Maybe partly because of nostalgia.
02 - Barão Vermelho - Down Em Mim Sad songs usually take special parts in my days, and it was no different with this one. Besides that, it has very good piano and guitar parts.
01 - Barrabas - Woman It was the year of Spain in the World Cup. And also on my top 20. This Spanish (although sung in English) disco song is definitely special. 20 - Warren Zevon - Frank and Jesse James Warren is one of the artists I discovered that year, and he's a real rocker
19 - Gary "U.S." Bonds - Time Ol' Story A track rediscovered. The recording quality is not 100%, but the strange guitar sound and the backing vocals from the space make this song an one-of-a-kind.
18 - Supertramp - School A masterpiece. Incredible how much music fit in just 5 minutes. The piano/keyboard part is gorgeous.
17 - Billy Idol - White Wedding I'm not much a fan of Billy Idol, but this song is just great
16 - Oasis - The Turning In 2009 I rediscovered Oasis, thanks mostly to this song, a very energetic rock song
15 - Layne Martine Jr. - Surabian Lament As happened in 2008, in 2009 songs from the U-Spaces' "Psychedelic Archaeology" collection dominated my players. This track is one of the highlights of the collection
14 - Lonnie Donegan - Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O Skiffle is a fun music style. You can prove with this fantastic song that, I don't know why, sounds perfect to close an album
13 - Warren Zevon - Genius Another awesome song from him. The violins contribute to give a different atmosphere to the song. Warren was a Genius.
12 - Abdel Halim Hafez - Gana El Hawa An epic of arab music. Now I know why he was (and still is) so adored in Arab world
11 - Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love Such a strong and cool track. It made me start giving Van Halen the attention their music deserve
10 - Frankie Laine - Rawhide /As in 2008, a superb western song by Frankie reaches the top10
09 - Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit - Tickle Me Pink A very good folk song from this relatively new act. The lyrics are kind of strange and the song is funny, even though it sounds a little sad
08 - West Coast Natural Gas - Jumping Frog Another song from "Psychedelic Archaeology". Weird lyrics, drunk-like vocals, great guitars and lots of sound effects. It could only finish into top 20
07 - Odair José - Nunca Mais Odair José is known in Brazil for his cheesy love songs. But this one is neither cheesy nor love song. It's high-quality psychedelic rock
06 - The Jessica Fletchers - Sorry About The Noise The Jessica Fletchers are an incredibly good band from Norway. They make high-quality retro rock. Every song of theirs I know, I love. And with this one it was no different
05 - Michel Polnareff - Time Will Tell Michel Polnareff is a great French artist. During the 60s he made very good songs, as this one and the more known "Love me please, love me". As a bonus, the lyrics of this song were written by Keith Reid (Procol Harum's poet)
04 - Kylie Minogue - In Your Eyes Kylie made it again: a top 10 song for the year. I don't like all her songs, but some of them are fantastic. Like this one, that made me press the repeat button many times during 2009
03 - System of a Down - Toxicity It took just 2 months for this song to be the 2009's 3rd most signifcant song. Maybe if I had discovered it earlier, it should be #1. This song summarizes SOAD's best: good alternation between melodic and powerful guitars and vocals. Hope they come back soon
02 - Abdel Halim Hafez - Al Toba As many arabic songs, this one has many spelling forms in occidental characters. Anyway, I mean this song. Abdel was a genius. His vocals were the best. It is a beautiful love song (yeah, I checked the translation) that also gave me strength in weak days
01 - John Denver - Leaving, On A Jet Plane I had already heard some versions of this song. But only the composer's version made me love it. John Denver was a hugely talented artist and his songs were full of feelings. In this one you can feel his pain in leaving. Not in vain, some people say John Denver can make stones cry. Bon Jovi is a good band, they made very good songs and, when you look to the tracklist, you imagine this will be a good album. But it's completely the opposite.

It starts with a strange and horrible version for Wanted Dead Or Alive with a boring guitar riff. Then you face a terrible version Livin' On A Prayer. The original song is probably one of their Top5, but this version is surely in Bottom5. This song makes you angry and want to push the stop button as fast as possible.

But, let's go on. Then you find miserable versions of Bad Medicine, It's My Life and Lay Your Hands On Me, where all the energy of these songs are lost and they're transformed into tasteless ballads.

You Give Love A Bad Name probably is the only good song in the album, as the blues version (even if worse than the original) is rather pleasant.

Then we go with Bed Of Roses without its main feature (the opening guitar solo), more energyless versions of powerful songs (Everyday, Born To Be My Baby and Keep The Faith).

In the end, two songs which didn't change so much, the ever-tasteless I'll Be There For You and Always.

If you are a Bon Jovi fan or a rock'n'roll fan, avoid this album. If you just want calm and tasteless songs to play while you are driving that may be a good choice.

20 - The Beatles - If You've Got Trouble A great track that remained unreleased for many years, in favour of Act Naturally.
19 - Bee Gees - Claustrophobia Another obscure song from a very known artist. A very good and simple song with funny lyrics
18 - Teixeirinha - Coração de Luto A sad traditional song widely known as "Churrasquinho de mãe"(something like bbq made of my mom) because of the subject of the lyrics.
17 - David Guetta - Baby When The Light Since 2004, there is always some house songs in the list. This is one of them
16 - Dan W. Quinn - Ain't Dat A Shame Extremely old song, you can also hear white noise in the recording. But it sounds good and has a good piano instrumental par
15 - Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah Very good and sad song. The singer seems to be crying the lyrics
14 - Coconut Records - It's Not You It's Me It seems to be a happy song, but when you pay attention to the lyrics you discover it's not
13 - James Blunt - Same Mistake The best song that radio and television forced me to listen. Actually I like it (otherwise it wouldn't be here), despite being too cliché
12 - Paul McCartney - The World Tonight A song that I've forgotten for 10 years and re-discovered. It's an example that the good and old Macca still can make very good stuff
11 - Johnny Cash - Guess Things Happen That Way Cash was my "artist of the year" and this song shows a different point of view about a relationship's end
10 - The Rutles - Let's Be Natural The Rutles is a parody band, who imitates The Beatles. And their songs have the same level of quality of the originals. This Dear Prudence "lookalike" is their best song in my opinion.
09 - Komodor - 1988 This Komodor is a Turkish electronic music project. They've created a bunch of nice songs (using an old computer/videogame, if I understood it correctly) and this one talking about how life was 20 years ago is the best song of theirs.
08 - Frankie Laine - Bowie knife A fantastic western song from Frankie. It has very good lyrics and is full of energy.
07 - Ten Years After - Working on the road Pure classic rock song. Nice riffs, nice solo, nice voices, nice everything.
06 - Genesis - The Carpet Crawlers Although Genesis is not among my favourite bands, they have some songs I like very much. And, in 2008, I found this one, that is simply brilliant
05 - Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Searchin' Wind They are a band I used to dislike, because of their cliché songs (such as Can't Take My Eyes Off You) but since I discovered Beggin' last year, I've been liking their music more and more, including the cliché ones
04 - R.I.O. - Shine On Another House song. This is a very cool and enjoyable one and was a big hit for me, specially during the third quarter of the year
03 - Griffin - I Am The Noise In Your Head A very obscure psychedelic rock song that I discovered via Pandora while it was still possible to use it in my country
02 - Johnny Cash - (Ghost) Riders In The Sky I've already listened to some versions of this song, but Cash's is by far the best. It was also the song that opened my ears to Johnny Cash's work
01 - Camel - Lady Fantasy For a long year, a long song. Although long songs tend to be boring, it does not happen to this one. So good, so incredible that its almost 13 minutes pass like they were only 3. 19 - Marina Lima - Difícil This is the power of television, since it's not the kind of music that uses to appear in this kind of charts. There is an older version, but the new one, with more powerful guitars, is far better
18 - Alizée - Moi... Lolita I think tried to be the French Britney Spears of something like this. At least, she has a good song
17 - Serguei - Eu não volto mais A strange rock song with a funny ending
16 - Natalia Kukulska - Sexi Flexi When the year was about to finish I was caught by this cool Polish pop song
15 - Linkin Park - Don't Stay Although they launched a new album in 2007, the elder songs still are hits to me
14 - James Reese Europe - Castle House Rag A very cool big-band song from the first decades of the 20th century. It features many different parts, all of them really nice
13 - Jethro Tull - With You There to Help Me After some years, Jethro Tull is back on Top 20 with a extremely inspired piece
12 - Astor Piazzolla - Por una cabeza If 2006 featured fado, 2007 featured tango. It's an inspired instrumental version of a classic
11 - Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Beggin' The first time I listened to the remix I thought it was an awesome song. Then I discovered the original version, that is even better
10 - Fanarai - Nugaleti! A good noisy Lithuanian rock song
09 - White Town - Your Woman Last.fm's recommendations may fail sometimes, but they did it very well recommending me this song
08 - Test Icicles - Circle Square Triangle It was the main song for the beginning of the year. Very good indie rock song.
07 - Iron Butterfly - Unconscious Power This song was first recommended to me by the Pandora website (before laws made it not accessible from my country). After some months I got it in vinyl (and then in mp3) and could listen to it again.
06 - Luciano Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma It's a pity that Pavarotti died. And it's a pity that I took so long to discover this song. It's fantastic!
05 - The Beatles - I Want to Tell You It was the Beatles song for the year. For many years I've never given enough attention to this song.
04 - Mika - Grace Kelly Very nice and happy song. And it seems that Mika will become another one(maybe two)-hit wonder.
03 - Guillemots - Trains to Brazil A good song with a good message about life itself. It's said that the song is about the Brazilian killed by the police in England.
02 - Ronnie Von - Chega de Tudo The image I had of Ronnie Von that he was only a old singer singing outdated songs. But when I discovered his 1968 album, I completely changed my mind about him.
01 - Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned It was hard for me to admit that I liked songs from an "ex-boyband" guy. 20 - The Beach Boys - Good Vibrations Very classic song of theirs. Very nice vocals.
19 - Ramones - Take It As It Comes It took me a long time to discover that it's actually a The Door's song. But both versions sound really good.
18 - Gene Vincent - It's No Lie In this year I made a Gene Vincent's revival. And this song was the most played then.
17 - Erika - Right or Wrong Every year features a dance song. That time was that song.
16 - Mafalda Arnauth - Quase Imortal It's FADO time. This song had been my #1 in Last.fm for months.
15 - Mondo Marcio - Dentro Alla Scatola It's Italian rap. This song provided lots of fun, altough not being about happy matters.
14 - The Beatles - You Never Give Me Your Money I think I had never given this song enough attention until that year
13 - Alessandro Moreschi - Ave Maria If the year before this song took #13 because of curiosity, in 2006 it got into the charts because of its quailty. And again the 13th.
12 - The Moody Blues - The Story In Your Eyes Moody Blues has many good songs. This is one of their best. It has much energy.
11 - Johnny Mathis - Misty Very beautiful ballad. I'm not an enthusiastic of jazz, but this song I recommend.
10 - The Knife - Silent Shout This song is very dark. The videoclip, very strange. But both are fantastic
09 - Bryan Ferry - Kiss and Tell This song is hard to explain, just listen and enjoy.
08 - The Beatles - The Word Another "re-discovered" Beatles' song.
07 - Muse - Supermassive Black Hole Very catchy rock song. When Muse decides not to sound like Radiohead, we always get good results.
06 - The Moody Blues - I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band) Another Moody Blues' song. This is a very powerful song with funny lyrics, possibly an answer to the social/political-engaged bands.
05 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy In my opinion, the hit of 2006. I thought this band could do something else, but it was just another one-hit wonder
04 - Bee Gees - Craise Finton Kirk Royal Academy of Arts Very, very nice. Very, very nice.
03 - Irving Kaufman - Moe the Schmo Makes Love A funny and strange old song. It would be funnier if I could understand more than 30% of the lyrics
02 - Walter Franco - Zen I think one of the best Brazilian acts of this decade. I heard it only once in 2000 and loved it. In 2006, I re-discovered it.
01 - Earl Grant - The End It's a love song, but for me it sounds too sad. 18 - Linkin Park - One Step Closer Very powerful screamy song of theirs
17 - Fred Van Eps - Silver Heels Very old banjo-based song. Van Eps plays it very well
16 - LINES - Bird's Eye View LINES is a band that does not deserve to be as obscure as it actually is. Their songs are really nice. And this one was their main song for me that year.
15 - Silverchair - The Greatest View From time to time I get stuck with some Silverchair song in my mind. At that time it was "The greatest view"

15 - Rogério Skylab - Fátima Bernardes This song made me change my mind about Skylab. Only then I could discover the genius inside him

11 - Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit A very good song of theirs, a bit different from the others, lacking of rap parts and usual shouts
10 - The Doors - People Are Strange They are right: people ARE strange
09 - Pixies - Where Is My Mind? The opposite of the other song of theirs in this list: instead of shinny happiness, dark despair
08 - New Order - Blue Monday Yeah, I was slightly caught by the 80's nostalgia
07 - Roger Pontare - När vindarna viskar mitt namn Nice swedish song. It is very strong. And the singer's clothes are fun
06 - Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World A good song with a terrible spinning video
05 - DJ Ross - Emotion A dance song that is way too better than the average
