My total tracks played count updates *instantly* which is a) strange, in light of the way other things update around here, and b) a bit annoying, as it is by far the least useful stat this site generates. I am nearing the 10,000 mark, though, which demands some sort of celebration.

I don't know how I ever listened to that much Joan Baez. It's an anomaly my chart may never recover from. I tried to listen to a disproportionate amount of Dylan & Young to unseat her, but nothing doing. I just don't listen to the same thing over and over. So Joan remains queen...

I've decided to start scrobbling my podcasts, so NPR may topple her after all. I was torn for a while on this issue, but I suppose in the end I want to scrobble what I listen to most often, and while I'm at work podcasts generally entertain me more than music, so on they get.

I'm trying to decide if I should change my tags to combine all tracks under simply Neil Young, Sondre Lerche, &c. Sure, they're different projects... sort of. But they're essentially part of the artist's solo work. I want Neil & Sondre to log more plays -- particularly Neil, who actually has a shot at overtaking Joan Baez on my chart eventually, which I desperately want to happen. And if I ever listen to Crazy Horse and the Quartet often enough to put them on my chart, it will annoy me to have two spots for one artist when 50 are already not enough to sum up my taste in music.
