When actors makes an attempt to hit the billboard charts things just won’t add up. It’s a universal fact and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Some end up with a one-hit wonder but most of them end up with a no-hit wonder and an unhealthy habit of coming back for more.

Steven Seagal — the ultimate badass redskin that turned soft and thought music were more interesting than kicking ass for a living. His latest album "Mojo Priest" was released in the United Kingdom this february and lo’ and behold some of the highlights from the track-list. “Love Doctor”, “Alligator Ass”, “Hoochie Coochie Man”, “Dust My Broom” and my personal favorite: “Talk To My Ass”.

Has this man totally lost it or is it a comedy album? You tell me. This is the man who on his debut album sang along with Stevie Wonder. It seems to be a serious effort to break in the music industry.

I could be missing out on something here as I have not really done any research on him. If any die-hard Steven Seagal fans read this and would like to enlighten me then please do.

Can't let go of that quote from one of the worst ranked movies according to IMDb. It's called "Anal"-something, and only that is worth an Oscar in my book.

Either way, this is my fucking birthday, starting now and it ends in less than 24 hours. My brother, Rusty_Nails, gave me Saul Williams book "the Dead Emcee Scrolls" a couple of days ago. I have no clue of what is printed on those silk smooth pages, but I look forward to establishing an relationship with it.

I actually bought a book the other day, the first one in a VERY long time. Neil Strauss "The Game", which is essentially an article on guys that are EXPERTS at picking up chicks, spread across ~400 pages. So far it's hilarious and quite provoking.
Neil Strauss is the guy who wrote the autobiographies of Jenna Jameson, Marilyn Manson and Mötley Crüe. Great books, indeed!

Dear god, the album cover for With Teeth before the album was called With Teeth kicked ass. I wish With Teeth remained Bleedthrough throughout it's release. At least then I would have a kickass cover to show off to all of my hundreds of friends.

Probably old news for some since I'm always the last to learn about stuff, but anyway, here it is.

Third listen and I still can't believe what I'm hearing..! One of the songs from the soundtrack of the long awaited Darren Aronofsky movie, The Fountain, is available for full lenght preview.

Clint Mansell's brilliant composing, The Kronos Quartet's haunting strings and Mogwai's trademark guitar/piano/drum play.

Go here > Click "Listen to Nonesuch Radio" on the left > Skip to the fifth-or-so song called "Death is the Road to Awe" and strap yourself in for 8 minutes of audio-orgasm.

Before you start reading this post you must understand that what I'm posting here are my own opinions and reflections, and not those of Last.fm in general. I have short fuse when it comes to these things. So please do (not) take it so lightly, depending on who you are.
And no matter how harsh this might sound it's not for you as an artist or label to take it personally, I'm attacking the web standards as a whole.

And yes. Parents! Keep your kids away from this one. The F. word does show up, but only once.

I love what I'm doing here at Last.fm, I really do. I've been working on Label & Artist relations for over three months and it's great! The main part that has made this experience so great is the guys (and gal) that works here, they are totally awesome and I wouldn't really want to work at any place else.

BUT,
there is one thing that I hate beyond everything else.... FLASH!

Flash technology should (almost) be banned from the internet. I hate it.
Flash is a great tool to enhance the "browsing-experience", but if you put your music on that "cool" flash-player and your tracks starts to play without my input, then I will not take it lightly.
Why? I'll tell you.

Everyday I browse through the new label registrations and I decline and accept the new registrations, depending on wether or not they have uploaded tracks to Last.fm for us to check out, or if they have submitted a valid website where we can see if they are legitimate or not.
And that's cool.

BUT, I'm getting sick of the standards you've put up...

Either it's a "bling-bling" website with a mediocre MIDI-piano with a vocal track or a fucking "cool" rock'n'roll website where the tracks are playing automatically through Flash -- and it's all somewhat subtle so I can't turn the sound off in a beat.
STOP PUSHING IT! I prefer to browse and listen to my playlist in iTunes.
If I (or any other visitor) would like to hear your tracks then we'd gladly press the "play" button, but let us do it at our own pace.

And to the hell with your Myspace pages! Oh, so it's cool to put all kinds of crazy shit on to your profile? It's not the 90s anymore.

HTML and CSS does it when it comes to webdesign and overall interaction to your website. It loads fast and it looks great once you know how to tweak it.
That's it. But Flash also does it -- as long as you don't push it on me. Get a grip and be more subtle.

As a last thing:
what the hell is up with you labels and artists that has your website menu in english, but the whole website is in a foreign language? How do you expect us to be able to check your details and discography? I only understand Swedish, English and a bit of French.
