Last night I put a playlist of jazz together in order to play whilst sleeping because I'd not been sleeping well lately and somehow during the night my player decided to go from "Random" to "Repeat One". Somewhat irritatingly when I woke up I found that Sleepwalker's Serenade by Count Basie had played 106 times in a row.

Now it looks as if Sleepwalker's Serenade is my favorite track (by far) and as much as I like it there is no way I would listen to any song that many times in a row under any other circumstances.

Oy, I don't think I'll be able to play that again for some time.

Pink Martini has become one of my all-time favorite chill-out groups. I was having a momentarily lapse of judgement and I found myself in the local mall and furthermore inside a chick-bath shop during a major sale. Oy.

Solution? Bust out the iPod and play Pink Martini while the girlfriend shopped. Worked like a charm as she got to spend time looking and I got to keep my sanity.

The group is just brilliant lounge/jazz/relax music. I don't think I could name another group that has impressed me so much in my time listening to music. Hang on Little Tomato[/track] was the first thing I heard and the whole album is astonishing but if you've not heard Que Sera Sera from the debut album [album artist=Pink Martini]Sympathique you are truly missing out. That version of the song is haunting and has impressed everybody I've played it for (well, those with an inclination for decent cool music).

I heartily look forward to more music and will continue to enjoy the current work that has been put out.
