To put it into two simple words: Pure magic.

To be honest: I really had high expectations for the concert, because I know (almost) everything of the superb stuff the wonderful Shara Worden aka My Brightest Diamond recorded during the past years and thus I know a lot of live audio and video live material, but nothing could prepare me to such pure energy, power, creativity, musicality and vitality. Shara Worden is fascinating personality and an exceptional musician, composer and singer. The concert that featured almost all of my personal favorites became a truly wonderful evening with an inspired and inspiring performance (despite some minor tuning problems with her guitar ... but then »Tuning is overrated«). It's been a long time since I saw such a great concert.

This was definitely too loud and too late and maybe too small for the music of Mono. I cannot understand why they added Zaphire Oktalogue to the bill: Their hippie, bluesy, psychedelic rock didn't fit too well (and - with all my respect - wasn't that good). On the other hand: the band performed despite the steamy air in there very precise (some excellent drumming, wheee...) - so, don't get this wrong: It was a good concert, not as mind blowing as the new album with headphones but ... it was an experience that I wouldn't want to have missed. Among my favorite artists this year were a couple of excellent comebacks like Van der Graaf Generator and Kate Bush, the newcomers Rain and Fritz Doddy and the confirmation of two very different, yet both leading prog-bands: echolyn and Porcupine Tree. I think my favorite discovery this year was magnatune-artist Jade Leary with his superb albums The Lost Art of Human Kindness and And Come the Sirens. Wait until you hear his newest output "Fossildawn"...]]>
