What about computer graphics... things like you know from Scooters' Hyper Hyper? Ayu's M (Above & Beyond Remix)? If you like trance, you should send your actress/singer to an airport and capture her... The only 2nd existing scene is a club. Some examples: Atb - Let U Go or Dee Dee - Forever

2. Sing your song in a language you can't speak
Wilson Gonzales (son of a well known german actor) sings new york city. in English and it sounds like he'd never done some English courses before. Same as Die Toten Hosen's Pushed Again which sounds extremely German or Namie Amuros grammar mistakes SO CRAZY. Such as: "When a girl meets boy" or "You send me to my eyes"

3. Make a B-Side of it!
Like atb did with Rising Moon on the "You're not alone" single.... SebastiAN did with a cover/remix of killing in the name of... Or publish your song on a best of album as B-Side, like Belasco did. Chloroform is their best song. And a b-side.

4. Use titles everybody uses
Such as "All", "You", "You and me", "Angel", "Lost"... Everybody will find your song. Surely *irony*

5. Use the cher fx on a good lead singer
The name "cher fx" is taken from the effect on Cher's vocals on Strong Enough. Nevertheless, dance and handsup music only consists of this effect and it's getting on everybody's nerves. It's a real pitty that good singers such as Jan Loechel (known from never atb projects) use it on their own songs! (Sideproject: Escanor) XD

6. Release the same songs with two different artists in the same version

7. Use autotune
Autotune is a plugin or device you use to bug out false tones from vocals. Hopelessly, it can only help when the singer fails about +-10ct. But some people even try to correct tones that fail about 50ct!!! Like the producers did on Tobias Regner's I Still Burn ["Raging fire in my blood"] or Stanfour's In my arms (Single Short Edit) ["Let me be in your arms"] But please, please, please don't try to fix vocals of garage, punk or indierockers XD

8. Wrong producer on wrong songs
The 2nd Bloc Party album "A weekend in the city" sounds like a sphere-pop album because Bloc Party lend the producer from Snow Patrol "Eyes Open"... What about Timbalands Remix on One Republics Apologize? Timbaland's Apologize remix would not be that successful if Timbaland was not that successful. Indeed, as a R'n'B producer you can not work on a pop rock title. If somebody else did it on "Apologize", everyone would have a laugh at it ;)

It's quite simple, but very powerful.

Facts
Male vocalists, female vocalists, male and female vocalists are only band tags. Producers, who always change their vocalists, aren't tagged here.

All tags concerning nationality are band tags. So there's no confusion in it. Note: England, Scottland etc. are all tagged as "british"

Lifestyle and Tagging
All my genre tags concern the songs the bands made and not their lifestyle!!!

Fake-Indie and Fake-Emo?!
Please don't laugh when I tagged some stuff from 30 Seconds to Mars emo, but their lyrics are partially, but the band isn't (they're alternative rock). I know that real emo is more punk influenced. I'd tag these guys as "emocore".
I could also tag "indie" people as indie but I also tag their music as indie... Otherwise I had to tag everybody who is a little bit indie as "indie" and this would be too much. Stuff tagged under "indie" is the indie most people refer as indie music and I don't depend it on the type of label they signed in. Punks, the same. There's punk rock from people, who aren't punk and real punks who don't like punk rock. Therefore, I only tag "punk" as music and not as lifestyle.

No superior tags!
Further, I do not missuse "electronic" and "pop" or "rock" as all over genres. In electronic there is freaky electronic music such stuff as Kraftwerk! Aswell as pop is the clean (not indie sounding) pop.

Languages will be ignored
Music which has different languges will be ignored. German bands don't always sing German aswell as there are japanese Bands, who are tagged as J-Rock and sing in english! So don't be confused with that ;-)

Meine Vorfreude auf dieses Festival war riesig. Dúné einer meiner neuen Lieblingsacts sind da und das sogar im Freien. Ich las das Lineup und stellte fest, dass auch Stanfour - Die Band, die ich erst für amerikanisch hielt, aber doch deutsch ist, kamen. Mit ihrer aktuellen Scheibe legten sie einen so Ohrwurm hin, dass man von ihnen direkt erwartete, dass jeder Song so genial wird. Und da ich immre auf der Suche nach etwas neuem war, habe ich mich direkt zu Belasco gewagt, die mich positiv überraschten.

Ich kam gerade noch rechtzeitig zu Belasco, einer britischen Band, die nach einer empfehlenswerten Mischung aus Coldplay, The Cinematics und Travis erinnerten. Leider waren da noch nicht viele Menschen vor Ort, obwohl dieses Konzert ein musikalischer Höhepunkt war. Als sie dann Butterflies spielten, wusste jeder, mit welcher Band sie es zu tun hatten. Der Sänger im Karohemd legte einen Witz nach dem anderen. Von "Hey there's a car", über kleinere Deutschversuche, bis zu Parodien zur EM: "You love football. But we ain't that good in it." Der Gitarrist ging zu Ende der Show richtig ab.

Brechend voll wurde es als die dänische Band Dúné mit "We are in there you are out here" auf die Bühne kam. Dúné würde ich als eine Mischung aus elektronischer Musik und Indierock betrachten, die jedoch weder zum New Rave noch zum Synthpop zuzuordnen sind. Diese energetische Mischung gefiel der Menge so sehr, dass gleich zwei Gruppen anfingen dazu zu pogen und die ganze Menge hin und her schubsten. Spästestens zu "80 Years" fingen einige an mitzusingen. Dúné hatte den besten Auftritt des Tages. Keyboarder Ole tanzte wie wild, duellierte mit Sänger Matias, lag eine Percussioneinlage mit den Toms des Drummers ein und kletterte gut 5 Meter das Gelände hoch. Der Junge war nicht zu bremsen. Der Auftritt der Band steigerte sich bis zum Ende und man fragte sich: Wird Ole noch ins Publikum springen?!

Die dritte Band auf der Einslivebühne waren dann Stanfour aus Norddeutschland, die erstaunlich amerikanisch und doch wieder deutsch klang. Sie Jungs hauten direkt am Anfang schon voll rein, doch ihr bekanntester Song "For all lovers" schien der Höhepunkt des Konzerts zu sein. Hier sangen fast alle mit. Alex und Konstantin gaben ordentlich Gas, doch man hatte immer das Gefühl, dass etwas fehlte auch wenn die Menge bebte. Gegen Abend versuchte der Sänger uns mehrmals aufzumuntern mit zu winken. "Desperate" ging richtig ins Ohr doch der Rest der Songs blieb irgendwie nicht richtig hängen. Um Stimmung zu machen, wurde Seven Nation Army angespielt - Den Song den man sich bei der EM jeden Tag anhören durfte. Das ganze mit äußerst interessanten Improvisationen des Sängers.... Direkt danach folgte ein Titel, der mich nach dreißig Sekunden an "Tainted Love" erinnerte. Nach knapp zwei Minuten war es dann so weit: Sie machten aus ihrem Song ein "Tainted Love": Once I run to you, now I run from you... Oder machten sie aus "Tainted Love" ihren Song? Oder war das ganze nur ein Mashup Gag?! Die Jungs verschenkten nen guten Dutzend Wasserbehälter und ein Handtuch. Danach gab's ordentlich Beifall und eine kleine Extraportion. Nach dem Konzert denke ich immer noch dass die Band definitiv falsch getaggt wurde: Mischt 3 Doors Down, The Calling und Revolverheld.


Fazit: Die einslive Bühne wurde mit drei guten Bands ordentlich gerockt. Belasco hatten die Ohrwurmreichste Musik, Dúné den mit Abstand genialsten Auftritt (alleine deswegen lohnt es sich schon die Dänen kennenzulernen!) Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall diese Bands live zu sehen. Schräge Töne gab's wenige sondern nur ne Menge Spaß.

I heard of the The Last Shadow Puppets, the new band of Alex Turner (frontman of Arctic Monkeys, but I just heard their songs these days. He merged with Miles Kane of The Rascals and do some kind of indie pop, which sounds like you are in the middle of Nevada with your best mate, holding a jar of scotch whisky but you're both still chewing winegums. What I want to say with that: British guys meet some kind of American feeling and does absolutely not sound like Arctic Monkeys but like something very special you haven't heard before! That's the thing I love about Alex. He's so open minded concerning songwriting! If you love
indie pop which rocks a bit and you're look for
something newer than Franz Ferdinand,
check'em out. And please, don't be confused: Miles and Alex look like brothers. I think, when both are standing in front of me, I won't be able to say who's who. I think they're brothers - at least in songwriting. Cause they're a good team.]]>
