The Else, I bought this album 5 times this year! A new record! Once digitally, once for me, once for my friend, I bought the vinyl, AND I bought a signed copy at my show.

So, this is all the music I've obtained this year, roughly. There is an extroadinarily high chance that there are some more that I missed around my room somewhere, it's kind of a mess.
Also, this list does not include my songs from Jonathan Coulton's podcast, indiviual songs bought off iTunes, several live concerts, the entire discography of Mundanes, and I think there was more.

Well, I always seem to make a journal when I can't sleep. Today, I found my first They Might Be Giants CD, one that my brother burned for me back in 2004-2005. Ah, the memories. I thought I'd give you guys the tracklisting. It's kind of cool to think that these were all the TMBG songs I had up till March'06 when I found "A User's Guide To They Might Be Giants" in a CDPlus downtown. I love how it's basically what would happen if Flood and The Spine ever exploded into eachother, and both of those albums are among my favourites (right after John Henry, ofcourse). My favourite memory of this CD is one time I was walking home from work in a snow storm, and my mom pulled up next to me on the road to drive me the rest of the way, and I actually got mad at her, because I wanted to listen to my discman. Damn Good Times.

1. How did you get into 29? The Aquabats
-My brother got into them about 2 years ago, and I basically copy everything he does.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? Blink 182

I think it was ALL THE SMALL THINGS, it was pretty big when I was in fifth
or sixth grade.

3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33? Steve Burns
-shit... I'm not going to lie, I don't really know any of the words to his songs. I listen to him enough for him to be my number33, but usually it's while I'm busy checking emails and I'm not paying attention to words. I like the song 'Mighty Little Man' though.
(Haha! I'm sure this doesn't count, but I've always beena big fan of the mail song of Blue's Clues :D)

4. What is your favorite album by 49? Meatloaf
-Ha, I grew up listening to Meatloaf with my dad, and I think the only album he had was Bat Out Of Hell, so I'll just use that one (I really only listen to like, 3 tracks off it, but they all kick butt :D)

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? Frank Black

-Well, I have his greatest hits, so I'm assuming that counts as one.

6. What is your favorite song by 50? The Arrogant Worms
-Probably The Last Saskatchewan Pirate. Got to love silly Canadian pirate songs :D

7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? Matt Mays/ El Torpedo
-they have one song that I can't remember the name of that actually names the street I grew up on in Dartmouth, which kind of brings me down since I still miss living there :(

-Angel Dust (the only one I actually own)

-Extra Krispy, hands down :D

-Sheesh, more like 'is there one that doesn't make you happy?'. They all make me preeeetty happy. Right now, I'm all about The Second Longest Night, also South Carolina and Louisiana :D

- Has to be Squeeze This, once gain, the only one I own :P

-No Threat Nautical Disaster Fireworks

13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? They Might Be Gannets
-Honestly, just discovering the concept of there being an entire album dedicated to They Might Be Giants 'Fingertips' is a pretty good memory.

14. What is your favorite song by 38? Mundanes
- Make It The Same:D Totally listening to this song right now... but I'm a little surprised to see that Mundanes are number 38, I thought they were higher.. hmm..

15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? David Miller
-Heck, yes! I only have one song by Mr. Miller, and it's "Narrow Your Eyes" by TMBG. His cover is so much better than the original, it is number 2 one my playlist of "Song I Love" :D I haven't ben able to find anything else by him though, so I'm excited to get new Pixies tribute that he's going to Manta Ray on.

-Never, I've only ever seen one band in my top 50, and that was The Hip..

-Sweet Jane. Ana told me she loves the VU, so I downloaded thir most popular song off iTunes. I have since bought their greatest hits :D
....shit, it might have actually been 'Heroin'... I heard it in a youtube video. It's not really one of those things you keep track of.. it was definitely one of the 2.

18. What is your favorite album by 11? The Killers
-Hot Fuss

19. Who is a favorite member of 1? They Might Be Giants
-No use hiding it, it's John Linnell. Sometimes I feel bad for having a preference between the two Johns, but Linnell just has something special, you know? Like beyond music wise, too.

20. Have you ever seen 14 live? Ok Go
-No, but I think I have a live performance on DVD, does that count? :D

21. What is a good memory involving 27? Oingo Boingo
-Haha, I was just really estatic when I realized that the guy who did the Simpsons theme song was in a band, and they're pretty good!

-Haha! Either Look At All Those Idiots or They'll Never Stop The Simpsons.

-They'll Need A Crane. I've always wanted to hear a cover of that song, and they did it really hauntily.

-Me Pod. This is like, the third time I've been asked for favourite album, and everytime I've only had one. Well, technically, if Billy West put out more than one album, I'd buy it. That man is great :D

I'm not going to lie, it's 2am and I can't sleep. So out of random boredness, I felt like creating a journal entry. And, of course, I have nothing to say.
Alot of people seeme to create a "Bands I've Seen Live" journal, I was considering doing that, but alas, I have only been to two concerts in my entire life (sheltered, I know). Just for fun, I'll tell you bands which bands/artists I've seen:
Backstreet Boys
which was opened by Aaron Carter

And my second concert:
The Rolling Stones
with The Tragically Hip
and Maroon 5.

I saw the Backstreet Boys in Halifax when I was 8 or 9. So about 1998-ish. I remember waiting in line for 6 hours, and crying when they finally go on to th stage. Haha, I miss being a young school girl.

The Stones concert was the one in Moncton in 2005 (just about the entire marities was there too!). I never cared for them, but it's kind of one of those bands where if you have the chance, you go.
The best part about this concert was by far The Tragically Hip. This was before I became a big fan, but they were just fantastic! And actually, Maroon 5 did surprisingly well, I never really cared for them, but they do a good live show.

Well, that took about 5 minutes to write about. I really need to become a concert-goer, but it's not really my scene. If only TMBG would do more canadian shows (within my age bracket >.<)
