I borrowed this from this user.. thanks! Instead of using my overall top 50, I used my rolling 3 month chart top 50, and had lots of ties so there's a little poetic licence employed.

1. How did you get into 29?
R.E.M.
I remember seeing my sister's copy of Green on vinyl, Man on the Moon, and later on Losing My Religion was a favourite amongst my friends. Monster was the first album I owned, and I loved New Adventures in Hi-Fi - still do. I just bought Accelerate.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Cansei de Ser Sexy

3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
Muse
Aluminium
It's a one-off, avant-garde orchestral remake of songs by the White Stripes. I own it on mp3 and vinyl.

28. What is your favorite song by 2?
Jakob

Sun 27 Apr – Isis, Jakob, The Austerity Program

This was the third show on this tour that I had the good fortune to attend and it was awesome.

The venue was a featureless box but we were there for the music, so no problem there. The contrast between RED bar area and BLACK performance room (not to mention GREY backstage area) was a bit hard on the eyes but a couple of beers in and it all made sense.

Jakob's set was as superb as one has come to expect of the NZ 3 piece. I fucking love Jakob and they know it so that's all there is to say about that.

It was the first night that I paid proper attention to The Austerity Program's set, which was a bit silly of me since I already knew they were highly respectable individuals but better late than never. Their set was blistering and not without conflict which seems appropriate for punk metal. I got some wicked video and once I figure out how to edit it into one bit I will put it on youtube.

The same goes for Isis - I spent some quality time centre-front checking out the guys and was totally impressed with what I saw. I guess I'm kind of new to their style of sound and I hadn't expected quite the degree of delicacy that I found in their song structures, the loud/quiet contrasts and the pure energy on stage. It's opened up some new worlds of music appreciation which is ALL GOOD with me.

Holy Fuck were funny and catchy and I would see them again - maybe would enjoy them more towards the end of a billing. I'm sceptical about vocal effects, not many bands can or should use these - aim for Battles, not Cher - but it all added up to an amusing slot.

Devastations excelled although I thought that the sound was a little muddy at times. Conrad's howl is brilliant!

Didn't stay for much of Blonde Redhead - just wanted to hear Misery Is a Butterfly - got bored waiting so we left.

The first time was at Indigo, way back in 2003, supported by Paselode although Kylie and I messed up and missed their support set. I had bought the last ticket for the show from Ticketek, and was incredibly drunk and moshed right up the front having the most violent and best time ever (until I saw the White Stripes later that year, which was perhaps as if not more violent. Those days are gone).

Tonight was different in that I wasn't trashed, hadn't got the last ticket and didn't mosh. I was pretty close to the front though, and a little violent in that I clapped so hard I broke my ring.

They played loads from the new album 'Mountain Battles', which is really very good and I like it a lot already, and also a lot from 'Last Splash'. I could hardly believe it. It was awesome.
We scored tickets to this sold out gig at the last minute, but even so we were amazed at just how crowded the Borderline was - there must have been about 250 people squashed in there.

Arriving after Ida Maria had started, the crowd were pretty good about a trail of six people pushing through the bar, although I soon regretted the trip across the dancefloor since I wound up behind a pillar and couldn't see Ida the whole time. I could almost see the cute guitarist with the moustache, so it wasn't all bad!

The music was great - fast-paced, lively and lead by beautiful vocals. So energetic! Ida Maria is heating up for sure. Yamipod isn't coping with the volume of music that has played on my ipod during the intervening months, and it seems to have seized up at tracks listened to 43 days ago.

I'm hoping it'll all sort itself out sometime soon, maybe when I download the latest version of itunes.

Either way I haven't had any new music in forever. In my current abode the easiest listening mode is vinyl, and I've been listening to The Shins and Iron & Wine a lot. Near the top of my wanted list is the latest from The White Stripes. And what else? I don't know. I'm out of touch.

I don't know. Calexico and The Decemberists are certainly long term favourites by this time, understandably overtaking The White Stripes. Jakob, I can understand creeping up the charts quite certainly. Faith No More is quite right to retain a high status, and The Phoenix Foundation deserve nothing less. I do enjoy Dimmer, and I'm very pleased to have Elliott Smith in a format other than vinyl.
