I'm so glad I finally got to see Idina Menzel live! I never thought I actually would! Best night ever! Tonight made me laugh, cry and have a constant smile on my face. Idina raised the roof just by stepping on stage. Never have I seen that kind of reaction before (even for Michael Ball!) You funny stories made it feel really intimate. Who'd have thought that a concert with an audience that large could feel that way?!
My favourite moment tonight was probably either 'No Day But Today' where us the audience got to sing the great Rent song too, or her non microphoned rendition of 'For Good'. Seriously, Idina you have some set of lungs there. To sing without the mic and still manage to be heard by us up in the gods...I don't think I will ever forget that. Or any other moment for that matter.
A brilliant evening that I didn't want to see end. I hope you will return in the future and that I can see you again. What can I say except WOW! The Glee Cast were amazing! I don't think anyone left the O2 disappointed. I even think some naysayers were turned into Gleeks. The songs were great, the atmosphere was great, the cast was great. What isn't to love? All the cast had to do was be there for the majority of the audience to scream. I don't think any other concert I go to will beat that one! Michael Ball singing live is probably one of the best things I have ever heard! He sounds exactly like his albums. Him singing Empty Chairs At Empty Tables gave me goosebumps yet again! My love for him has grown even more! His concert had the right amount of sadness and the right amount of fun! It was amazing! Kerry Ellis was fantastic. She performed every song from her album Anthems with accompaniment from Brian May. Her voice is so strong that she out performed her band, an orchestra, her backing singers and the choir. For the first half of the concert Adam Pascal performed songs from Spring Awakening, Rent and a few other musicals. He was amazing! I always wanted to hear him live and I was not disappointed. He later joined Kerry to perform We Will Rock You. Escala were also there and performed during the first half. They could play their instruments well but I wasn't as interested in them. Dan Gillespe Sells from The Feeling also joined Kerry as a last minute surprise guest to perform Love It When You Call with her, a song featured on her album. It was an amazing concert that raised money for a good cause. Kerry Ellis, Brian May, and Adam Pascal all in one night, what isn't to love?]]>
