Prélevez une bonne dose de Grizzly Bear, une autre de Fleet Foxes et ajoutez-y une petite once de Band Of Horses. Placez les trois éléments dans un shaker. Secouez bien. Vous obtiendrez à peu de choses près un condensé de morceaux imparables interprétés par une bande de cinq gars sympathiques militant sous le patronyme de Local Natives. Et le quintet qui monte à une vitesse vertigineuse était de passage sur la scène de la Rotonde, ce 25 janvier.

Au placard la Saint-Valentin. Ce 14 février, le Botanique fêtait Delphic et la publication de son premier album, « Acolyte ». Le trio, découvert en première partie de Bloc Party ou sur la scène du festival Polsslag l’an dernier, investissait la Rotonde, en lieu et place d’un Witloof bar dans lequel il devait originellement se produire. Succès oblige.

En 2008 paraissait « Once », un petit film musical irlandais, sans prétention. Ce Dvd mettait en scène Glen Hansard, leader de The Frames, et une certaine Markéta Irglovà. En tant que mélomane et fan des Frames, impossible de passer à côté. Une petite location et 1h20 plus tard, c’est le coup de foudre. Le lendemain, je décidais donc d’acquérir non seulement le Dvd mais également le splendide disque éponyme du duo qui finira par tourner en boucle dans la platine. Parce que The Swell Season n’est pas un groupe que l’on apprécie vulgairement mais une formation dont on tombe amoureux, inconditionnellement. Et le concert accordé au sein d’une AB, dans sa configuration Flex (semi-assis), comble et comblée n’a fait qu’accentuer ce sentiment !

Le 27 février 2008, Le Loup déployait ses griffes pour la première fois dans la petite salle bruxelloise. Presque deux ans jour pour jour après avoir perpétré son premier carnage à la Rotonde du Botanique, la meute, dont deux membres se sont fait abattre en cours de route, revient semer la terreur. Pour attirer le gibier, elle s’est armée de « Family », une formidable deuxième galette, évoquant un Fleet Foxes voire un Grizzly Bear dévoré par des Animal Collective. Ce soir, c’est sûr, ça va sentir la bête !

Last year, as you can see for yourself right here, last season 35 of my days and/or nights have been dedicated to the greatest thing in the world: having the pleasure of watching your favourite artists performing live. This season however was a great fuckin' year for music. So that explains why you can forget about my 35 gigs of the previous season. They ain't shit compared to the ones I've attended this year.
