I'm pleased to inform everyone' we are now broadcasting music 24 hours a day' within the next month we are working together for Radio Free Wales to start broadcasting Live in our brand new studio.

At this time we are broadcasting a loop of some of the best songs from the years' 1950 to 1985. If you wish to contact me or any of the presenters' please use the link found on the station page.

Also being featured on Radio Free Wales will be the story of Pirate Radio during the 1960s and 1970. I will be looking at how the Pirates had a big influence in the music being bought by teenagers.

At the age of 15' I started to buy my records from the Oldest Record Shop in the World Spillers Records. Every Friday afternoon many of DJ's including myself would meet inside Spillers to try and be the first to try and be the first one to buy a certain new release to be played at their club in Cardiff.
Each of us thought of it as Fun' there was never any bad words between any of the other DJs, in fact if I had to two shows to do one evening' I would call into a certain night club to hear the record the DJ bought that day at Spillers Records. The Oldest Record Shop In The World.

Over the years I have had the great pleasure of working along side many groups, male and female recording stars such as' The Searchers, The Barron Knights, The Fortunes, The Troggs, Swinging Blue Jeans and many more. Many of those still keep in touch and if they are appearing in Swansea / Cardiff or anywhere through out South Wales' we would met up before and after their show for a drink etc.

One such group is The Barron Knights' I first worked with them in a night club just outside Cardiff. They were and still are one of the best comedy musical groups in the United Kingdom.
They have done so much in their 50 years together' they have toured in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore. Hong Kong and many other countries in the world.

Apart from featuring them in my radio programme, when I will be telling the story of the comedy recordings that made it into the UK top ten. The first group will be The Barron Knights.

Don't forget' if you want to hear the best in reggae. 1970 Album Tracks and music fof the 1950s through to 1979. Radio Free Wales is broadcasting 24 hours a day' Seven days a week.

A Big Thank You To My Chief Engineer / Presenter Micky Manymoons for all the work he has done in helping me to get Radio Free Wales up and running.

Philip Black
www.radiofreewales.co.uk

The Barron KnightsThe FortunesThe SearchersRadio Free WalesMicky Manymoons
