Thu 4 Aug – Under the Skin of Angels Tour

so i went to see FILTER tonight. amazing! during the walk to the stage got to hear the last song from heart-set self-destruct...it sounded ok heh. ANew revolution also sounded ok. but FILTER man...that's who i went for and my god was it amazing. when i saw rich walk onto the stage i think i damn near died lol. their set was...well i dunno if it was short but it seemed that way to me as i could listen to them play all night hehe. seriously though, their set was about 12 songs.

i have no clue what the 3rd song was...it almost sounded like "you walk away" but i really couldn't tell. i went in hoping i would hear "dose" as that's most likely my favorite and was i surprised when they started playing the opening guitar to it. i was so surprised i seriously thought they were playing "take another" for 5 seconds but my mind caught up and said "hey fool, they're playing 'dose'". the biggest surprise was that they played "(can't you) trip like i do" which was the song my sister was really wanting to hear. well she got to hear it tonight. in fact before they came on the stage our conversation sounded like this:

"man...all i want to hear tonight is 'dose' but i don't know if they'll play it"
"ah, don't even man...you got good luck when it comes to hearing songs you wanna hear at shows."
"i do?"
"at nin i didn't get to hear the song i wanted to hear."
"well...you did get to hear a section of it..."
*gives me ugly look*
"the only time i got lucky and heard the song i wanted to hear was at manson"
"which song was that?"
"the nobodies."
"ahh. well since i apparently have good luck, just tell me the song you want to hear and maybe if it comes out of my mouth they'll play it."
"i doubt it, my song was done by two bands."

"yeah..."

the second she hear the keyboard come on, her face lit up like a christmas tree with surprise. what else happened...? i think i might've heard everyone singing 'take a picture' along with rich...although i really couldn't tell if it was just me or not. never thought i would hear "i'm not the only one" played. they covered zz top as the second song...amazing. in the middle of the "so i quit", they broke out into a cover of 'warpigs' for a little bit while rich borrowed someones camera and began to take pictures with it. rich crowd surfed during 'the best things'. before 'take a picture' he told us the story of how the song came about which if you're a FILTER fan...you already know, but it was cool as fuck to hear it come out of his mouth himself instead of reading it. i damn near shredded my vocal cords singing "hey man nice shot"...i mean, wow...i was screaming ever so loud.

after FILTER was finished, we left and came home. like i said...i wasn't going for saliva heh. and that was my adventure at the FILTER show. good times hehe.
