The sentiment of this song is valid for more than just my youth. In fact, I still experience moments that make me feel like that at my current age :)

Windows Mobile last.fm radio....

If anybody would watch my 'recently listened' list closely, they would find a strange pattern.

Every weekday morning between 8-ish and 10-ish and every evening around 7-ish they would see me listening to '... radio' on last.fm.

Normally, that would not be a strange thing as countless people listen to last.fm radio.

But people who know me know that I am 'on the road' to or from my work and that I am in my car.

What happens is that I am listening to last.fm radio on my Windows Mobile phone.

I have almost finished coding a last.fm radio client for Windows Mobile phones and I am 'testing' it every day.

It connects to last.fm, changes the station, shows the cover-art, it can skip/ban/love songs, volume can be changed and it even buffers and plays nicely.

When I have finished the 'still-to-do' list I will release it as freeware (not 'as-in-beer' because that means I have to talk to all the people using it, but as in 'here-it-is-for-free-now-bugger-off-and-dont-bug-me-if-it-explodes-in-your-face')

The to-do list:
- Have the 'note this song' button working (sometimes I hear a song and I want to remember which it was, this button adds an entry in a 'note' file)
- Change to a 'similar artist' radio station.
- Finish the rest of the UI-graphics (well, they are done, they just have to be incorporated)
- Make the webcommunications more robust (mobile Internet is not perfect yet).
- Make it work on a smartphone and not just on a pocketpc (i.e. have a menu-option for all button actions).

I must say, it is really, really nice to listen to a radio station that plays mostly music I like and where I am able to press a 'skip' or 'ban' button if something comes along that I do not like.

Now, I can see this combined with an AD2P radio (from around 69 euro's already) becoming my personal way of enjoying music on the road.

Finally, no more advertisement blocks or annoying DJ's!

I am not sure why, but I saw (and heard) this song whilst flicking through channels a few nights ago and I like it.

It could have been sung by Avril Lavigne, were it not for the Commodore 64 drumkit and the Korg synths...

One thing in the song is the sound of the 'drums'; I used to have a drumkit-program on the C64 that made the exact sound.

Ow, and the song is About You Now by Sugababes...

Now stop sniggering!

What I find astounding is that outside of the UK, there are so few people who know of this program...

YouTube it, or watch it on the BBC... try to see it at least once.
