[REVIEW] Combichrist - What The Fuck Is Wrong With You People (2007)

Purplevelvet was very kind to notify me about new Combichrist album - What The Fuck Is Wrong With You People (thank you Ingrid!!! *waves* :))

Two CDs, 24 tracks. Twenty four, yummy! :D

Let's look closer...

First CD

"5AM (After Party)" - weird intro, but that's his style, I get it.

"Electrohead", "Deathbed" - yeah :)

"F**k That S**t" & "Shut Up And Swallow" - both get very interesting and energetic at the end.

"Get Your Body Beat" - available previously in some movie's promo videoclip. It's
ok but I'm not very excited because it isn't as new as other tracks. ;)

"Are You Connected" - this is what I helluva like in Combichrist. Introduction seems weird, but wait to 0:30! OH YEAH!

"Give Head If You Got It" - it's ok, worth listening.

"All Your Bass Belongs To Us" - huh, Combichrist's geek? :D Obvious reference to AYBABTU. Anyway it's good, good electro, play it if you're skipping through tracks.

Second CD.

"God Warrior" - well, I don't like talking in music and I definitely don't like screaming dialogs in music. Background could be worth playing once more but some crazy woman spoils fun. :/

"Dead Again" - noisy & dull loop. No.

"Verdammt" - another loop. WTF? No.

"AM" - Ok, I get it. Second CD's content is a different kind of music - pure electro without spoken words. Actually, this track is ok, fun starts from 1:00.

"Dawn of Man" - Clear transition from "AM". It's ok but I want more tracks which are similar to 1CD. :(

Stopped playing, skipped through rest which proved my theory on 2nd CD.*

To sum up - "What The Fuck Is Wrong With You People" is good compilation and I recommend this album to fans of Combichrist, electro listeners and of course brave discoverers. Give it a try, not all tracks are cream but… well, it happens very often. :)

To be perfectly honest, other Combichrist's albums also have brighter and darker sides, I don't like 35% of his tracks.

* - Second CD can be fun too, don't get me wrong - I'm just not in the mood right now. :P

I'm not into pop music, I think that majority of modern pop music is crap. But I used to listen to pop in my childhood (early nineties) from previous decades. It appealed to me.

Today I stumbled upon Christina Aguilera's new video:

I think it's great piece of music, and moreover, great piece of video! :D This oldschool stuff is wonderful, I love vintage style.

My friend said, that in those days women dressed and behaved like women. Maybe this looks like artificial or fake, but I enjoy it very much.

Dimmu Borgir is going to release their new album on 24th of April. It is called "In Sorte Diaboli"

I'm so excited. Dimmu Borgir was the first metal band that appealed to me. I wanted to discover more metal because of their symphonic melodies. It was beautiful as well as blasphemic (lyrics), it was powerful (energy!) as well as weird (growl). Finally I ended with pretty wide metal taste - from black through death to thrash. ;)

A little bit melodramatic I think, but hell yeah - I'm looking forward to this release! Dimmu Borgir is awesome and their music perfect in every detail.

Now c'mon, flame me. ;)

Today I stumbled upon excellent idea - Last.TV.

It's a site which utilizes Last.fm's and YouTube's API and serves you interactive channel of music videos based on what you listen to.

It's amazing. Now I don't need television anymore. No, really!

Well, I don't know. Yet. But there's a wonderful way to tell me and/or be up to date with what I'm doing right now.

It's called Twitter and it won my heart. Twitter is site for friends. Just like MySpace, you would say. No, it's better - it's simple, it's extremely useful and it's preety. MySpace is cluttered and offers nothing valuable (IMHO).

But hey, I'd like to talk about Twitter.

Twitter is all about what are you doing right now. Just write it down, on the site or via Instant Messaging or via phone. Friends can subscribe to your updates, and I'm asking you to join mine:

Don't answer in your own shoutbox

It's very hard to track possible replies to your shouts when you post answer in your own shoutbox.

Please, go to shouter's profile page and write message there. It greatly increases chances that reply will be seen. Shoutbox is not covered by Reply Tracker so I (and most of you) will lose track of replies. And discussion thread will end.

For the first time this may seem awkward, but in general it's the only reasonable way to use shoutbox in such big community.

(I know it's obvious for most people here, but unfortunately not for all)

Poland - my fucking lovely country

And my fucking lovely goverment. And morons who elected them - now forbiding all kind of modern pleasure.

Dark Funeral was the first band which concert approached obstacles. It was moved from Warsaw and Katowice because of possible antisatanic agitations. They moved concert to Łódź (where I live) but president of the city described band as provocation and scandalistic creative activity, which can not be compared with any cultural event. He told press that this would have been like an explosion of a dustbin. After that pronouncement organizers called off band's performance.

Another story. There would be Black Metal Festival starring metal legends like Mayhem, Marduk and Impaled Nazarene with many supporters. First time event in Poland, great opportunity for foreign bands to see „Poland” is good at metal and loves it. Heck, no way. Some "Defense Against Sects Committee" stated that this concert is not ok and with support from administration they canceled all.

WHERE THE

HELL I LIVE?!

Is it Medieval or North Korea? What is wrong with people, what is wrong with decisions people on the top make?
Quo Vadis, Poland?
