A while ago, I made a series of 7 compilations for a music website entitled "Rotten Candy: The Best of Rare Power Pop, Mod and Pop Punk." They're filled with killer songs from the late 70s and early 80s. I can't believe that none of these songs wound up being hits. People seemed to really dig them, so check them out:

http://tinyurl.com/ku2l9y
http://tinyurl.com/ktytv5
http://tinyurl.com/m7jpxa
http://tinyurl.com/ox5qq2
http://tinyurl.com/lexjef
http://tinyurl.com/mzna64
http://tinyurl.com/ny5uj5

Enjoy!

Sat 25 Oct – Man Man, Tim Fite

What a show! Tim Fite is a little shticky, and bites a little too much off of Captain Beefheart (with hip hop and indie rock sensibilities thrown in), and I've seen the whole multimedia thing done before with greater effectiveness by Granddaddy and Polyphonic Spree.

But damn, Man Man was amazing. They were very tight, and all of the orchestration of their instruments was spot on. They clearly put a ton of energy into their shows. How they do it every night is beyond me. Great stuff.
