Clash of the bands: Results of the Finals

The clash of the bands is over. What started with 32 bands ended with 2 bands in the final. And two for the third place. It wasn't an very exciting final. One band just got crushed by the other.

The battle about the third place was actually more interesting. They started getting points on the same speed. But at the end there was an interesting sprint to see from one band.

Thanks anyone for voting. And here is the outcome:

Hereby the clash of the bands round 1 results. 1/8 finals will be posted later this evening. Anyway the results:

Group A
Group A was pretty clear. Iron Maiden was the most popular of the 2 giant bands. Tiamat got some points but far from enough.

Group B Group of death :P
This was really the hardest group of them all. Everyone was really divided. But in the end Nightwish and Sonata Arctica proved to be the best bands.

Well this groups was mainly about who was going to be the number two. The self proclaimed gods of the founders of power metal. It were the founders of power metal who came in second.

Also an interesting battle, Rhapsody came in first and then the end battle was one between a black death metal band and pop singer Sting. Sting won, but just barely.

Okay the olympics are comming up. So I thought Its time for a clash of the (my) bands. I divided my top 32 in 8 groups. Each group consisting out of 4 bands. You need to give 2 bands from each group 3 or 1 point(s). The 2 bands in each group with the highest score go to next round. Only the first ten reactions will be counted.

Okay last year when I did the same thing, nobody read it, so im going to make this one a lot shorter.

This year I listened to 21.000 songs, which is 7000 more than the first year.

My nr 1 Iron Maiden is responsible for about 5% of the last year listened songs. Iron Maiden was 1019 times.

Allow to simmer.

In teenage males stir in low educational achievements,
A macho street ethos,
And a refusal to think for oneself.

Use plenty of blame culture (it's everyone else's fault),
Bring to the boil.

Now in a separate container
Mix bright women, aspirations,
A willingness to adapt,
Throw in employment, hard work and morality -
Allow to ferment.

Place beside your boiling mixture.

Add to your boiling mixture a plentiful helping of drugs, general thievery and joy-riding,
Beat violently with extreme religion,
Touch feebly with religious and community leaders
And leave well alone.

Finally, get some inadequates,
Watch the creation of an identity through destruction,
Apply to local shops, churches and the pubs -

Let the decent evaporate away.

Wash hands of all responsibility,
Then serve with large helpings of blindness and self-pity.
