This song is a time machine, no seriously, it takes you straight back to the early noughties, when The Libertines and The Strokes filled our ears, smoke wafted through dingy pubs and the country wasn't crunching on lack of credit. The Puppet Show is a feel good indie anthem, and despite Shirley's girly name, purveys the group's laddish attitude in every strum.

The beautiful sound of Ambrose Tompkins is something that we have always been waiting for, even if we didn't know it. A fresh take on the ambient genre, the unique folk nature of this five-piece hailing from England's lovely Midlands definitely makes them something to shout about (but maybe not whilst you are listening to the track - you might ruin the tranquility of it all).

Making an entrance with a thumping, bold and breezy beat, please welcome Suds & Soda - a self-professed but anonymous Soho-based electro-glam duo. There's no question about it, the mysterious twosome (who by the way have a beautifully kitsch MySpace page) sure know how to lay down some beats. Influenced by the likes of fellow electro gems CSS and Ladytron, Suds & Soda master the art of electro so very well - in fact, as I listen my feet are itching to dance.

Well, well, well. Give me ‘American Punk' and you are often signing up for a rant about how much I can't stand it in general. (I know I like Rancid, but that doesn't COUNT) So when I was given a Blameshifters cd to review, I eyed it with suspicion for some time, (even though I thought the sleeve was cute-as) and eventually bit the bullet...and really really liked it and would like to adopt them. So there.
Butler-Williams is exactly what we have all been waiting for, you might not know it yet, but we were all waiting. The duo has brought us a modern twist on the genre that Nick Drake, Bob Dylan and even Jeff Buckley helped create. Chris Butler and Noel Williams have made an EP that would make any folk fan proud. Keep Your Head Down shows the two Manchurian men are talented in their own right despite their obvious influences.

The Arkanes are an up and coming UK band with great potential, although they have really just started out since forming in 2006 they already hold an extensive fan base and are soon to tour the UK from Liverpool to London! Their style is unique and the band ooze eccentric energy levels that can be felt within their songs. Tracks like Sick Elixirs and Timebomb get at you from the start with heavy guitars and an up tempo beat, it's pick you up music that gets you ready for action.
What do Glasvegas, 80's pop legend Tiffany, and KT Tunstall, have in common? The answer is Kid Canaveral, a Scottish four piece that have opened for all of them. These musical icons of varying talent (surely no one can ever hope to beat I Think We're Alone Now on the talent stakes?) obviously know a good thing when they hear one.
