I have loved this track ever since I heard it during the final scene of Babel. I saw it over a year ago but had a massive effect on me. This is the epitome of how music can get to me in films. One look around us ought to show that all our measures and bounds have been clamped on us by mankind.

For example, time is just something that we assign. Past, present, it's just all arbitrary. Most Native Americans, they don't think of time as linear; in time, out of time, "I never have enough time!", circular time... all moments are happening all the time.

Coincidentally (or perhaps not coincidentally, as I may have been subconsciously influenced to write about time as an example), I'm listening to 'Time' by Tom Waits. Whose name is another example of our assignment of language.

Ok, anyway. My 10,000th Scrobble was 'Only Skin' by Joanna Newsom.
