So, I was Soulseeking the other day and I stumbled upon a compilation called Life's Sweet Dementia. Whoever compiled this mix left nothing to be desired for. It's mixed chronologically, I think. The only thing that sucks is that it's hard-mixed in with crossfading. Screw that. I'm going to find every album that this song lives on and get the album and remake the mix without any crossfading.

Here's the list of tracks:

1. Remember a Day
2. See Emily Play
3. Hideaway
4. Strange Days Dream
5. The People In Me
6. She Lives (in a Time of Her Own)
7. Blues From An Airplane
8. Alone Again Or
9. Holiday on the Moon
10. Porpoise Song (Theme From Head)
11. Blue Jay Way
12. Mr. Alphabet Says
13. Curious Guy
14. You're My Drug
15. Eight Miles High
16. Heads Will Roll
17. Waiting for the Sun
18. Tales of Brave Ulysses
19. Already Yesterday
20. Long Gone
21. Isn't Life Strange
22. Epitaph

As stated in the title, we welcome you. I created this group out of my ever-growing love and appreciation for what Clairecords releases, and the artists that create those releases.

Recent news! If you haven't checked the tonevendor site lately, Clairecords and tonevendor are moving back to Florida. I emailed Dave and asked exactly where they are moving to. My first guess would be back to Jacksonville. We'll see. He's probably super busy...

Lately, I've been endulging myself in ambient solitude. It helps me concentrate on learning Ruby. SomaFM's Drone Zone is amazing. I heard one song by Omicron that rocked! Also, I was reintroduced to ambient master Harold Budd. I have a collaboration with him and Brian Eno that I've been listening to a lot. It makes me want to bring out my K-Station and lay down some chill melodies. I figure I'll do that once I get a nice 24-bit audio interface so I can use MIDI. Any recommendations?

Yes, my quote has a direct relation to the music I was listening to last night. The quote is from a Juno Reactor track titled Landing off of their Transmissions album. Allow me to reiterate:

So long as the universe had a beginning, we could suppose it had a creator. But if the universe is really completely self-contained, having no boundaries or edge, it would have neither beginning nor end: it would simply be. What place, then, for a creator?

--Stephen Hawking

It really makes me think...

I recently was listening to radioio80s, and was introduced to Ultravox. It's been called "New Wave Romantic" and mid-late 70's art-rock. So that's been playing a lot as of late.

The first album Ultravox! was recorded in 1976 and produced by Brian Eno.

Thanks to radioio80s, I also learned of The Sisters of Mercy. I never really considered myself a fan of goth, but oh wait... I used to listen to Type-O-Negative in the 6th grade. Who am I kidding?

I've recently been more passive about iTunes, yet active at the same time. I'm actually using the smart playlists because they're a great way to listen to stuff that fits your mood. All you need to do is slap a category on a song or album and the smart playlist will figure it out for you. To put this in context, I've been using it to setup my sleeping music. So any music that is good for sleeping, I'll categorize it as "Sleep". The smart playlist will look for songs categorized as "Sleep", and randomly generate a playlist for me.
