On The New BAY STAGE on 13 Jul 2009

Location: Jones Beach Amphitheatre

Although plans for Taking Back Sunday to christen The Bay Stage had to be scrapped when the band landed a slot on a still-unnamed tour, a Long Island band will still be the first to play the stage, as Melville’s Push Play is the opening act for the All Time Low show on July 13. Also on that bill: We the Kings, Cartel and Days Difference.

This summer Jones Beach introduces The Bay Stage, an exciting new addition that promises fans a new rock experience. The performances will be staged in an alternate location on the theater property. The 5,000 capacity general admission layout combines the best features of an outdoor summer concert with the personal feel of a small music club.

We're pleased to confirm that Coldplay's scheduled show at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York on May 27th -which was postponed because of illness - has now been rescheduled for July 27th. However, in order to reschedule the Saratoga Springs concert, the Jones Beach show announced earlier this week will unfortunately now not take place.

Tickets for the original Saratoga Performing Arts Center date on May 27th will be valid at the rescheduled date on July 27th, with refunds available from point of purchase.
Chicago / Earth, Wind and Fire on 30 Aug 2009

Location: Jones Beach Amphitheatre

Two more classic acts are teaming up for a 30-city co-headlining tour: Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago will head out together starting June 5th. The two long-lasting bands also set out on a joint tour in 2004-2005. Each night, both groups will perform a full set apiece, then it’ll be Earth, Wind & Fire & Chicago for the final set as all the musicians hit the stage together.

EW&F have enjoyed a renaissance of late, no doubt helped out by big fan President Obama recently having the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers perform at the White House. The prolific Chicago have gone platinum with 25 out of their 30 albums.

We’re calling this the Revolving Door Tour, as if you combined the total number of band members both Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago have employed in the past four decades, it’d be somewhere in the 50s.
