A$AP Rocky + A$AP Ferg at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney on 28 Jun 2013

Location: Hordern Pavilion

THURSDAY MAY 16, 2013 - With just six weeks until A$AP Rocky touches down for his debut Australian tour, Niche and Live Nation announce that A$AP Mob member A$AP Ferg will perform a highly anticipated support slot in each city of A$AP Rocky’s near-sold-out tour.

------

Due to A$AP Rocky’s US Radio show commitments and overwhelming demand for tickets, Niche & Live Nation announce new dates and venues for the Harlem, New York MC’s debut tour of Australia. Due to an immense reaction on presale, A$AP Rocky’s Sydney and Melbourne shows are now changing dates and upsizing to the Hordern Pavillion (was Saturday 29th June at Enmore Theatre) and Festival Hall (was Friday 28th June at Palace) venues to cope with the demand – both of these shows are licensed and all ages. Ticket holders can receive a full refund from point of purchase should this rescheduling affect them and all currently purchased tickets are valid for the new shows/venues.

Please note the new onsale date for Melbourne is 9am Wednesday 6th March, whereas Brisbane, Perth and Sydney remain unchanged at 9am Thursday 28th February.

Following hot on the heels of sold out tours by Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and the announcement of the Nas co-curated Movement Festival, Niche and Live Nation are proud to present the debut Australian tour of one of the hottest properties in Rap right now, A$AP Rocky.

Released in January this year, his top #10 ARIA debut album - LongLiveA$AP - defies categorisation, standing out amongst the pack as the document of where Rap and Hip Hop culture is headed.

A blurry mix of lyricism, slowed down rave synths and featuring a star studded line-up of guests including Florence Welch, Santigold, Skrillex and rap contemporaries Kendrick Lamar, Drake, 2 Chainz and more, LongLiveA$AP is unavoidable in the clubs and on the street.

LongLiveA$AP is adorned by production from long time collaborators including Clams Casino and Hit Boy, and features the breakthrough single Goldie which was easily one of 2012’s biggest club hits. Watch the video for Goldie here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofoIMg76Sng and his most recent performance on Late Night With David Letterman here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NepKGuP_Q8Y

In 2007 the Harlem born and bred rapper, Rocky, assembled his A$AP Mob consisting of rappers, producers and music video directors (A$AP having mutliple meanings including ‘Always Strive and Prosper’, ‘Assassinating Snitches and Police’ and ‘Acronym Symbolizing Any Purpose’). In 2011 the compilation Deep Purple was released followed by Peso, his first official single which quickly gained airplay on Hot 97. He was immediately snapped up, signed by Sony and released the LiveLongA$AP mixtape to critical acclaim.

This success was not just US based, with A$AP Rocky’s efforts being noticed across the pond as he was shortlisted in the BBC’s influential ‘Sound Of 2012’ poll.

Following tours with Drake and Kendrick Lamar and performing at the 2012 Pitchfork Festival (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRKWovZ3Ino), A$AP Rocky performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and remixed Rihanna’s Cockiness (which was also performed at the MTV Video Music Awards).

Transcending art, fashion and music, demand for A$AP Rocky in Australia is reaching boiling point and this tour is destined to sell-out.

Don’t miss A$AP Rocky when he touches down in Australia this June.

Manic Street Preachers + Hungry Kids of Hungary at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney on 5 Jul 2013

Location: Hordern Pavilion

After a prolonged silence which has seen the band take a break from touring and releasing records, MANIC STREET PREACHERS have announced a short Antipodean tour to coincide with the British Lions Tour of Australia - the rugby team’s first in over a decade and the group’s last visit since 2010.

These rugby enthusiasts will be bringing their peerless brilliance to Australia for two shows only, each the night before the test matches against the Wallabies in Melbourne and Sydney, with shows at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Friday 28 June and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Friday 5 July.

For these lifelong rugby fans, the band who enjoyed a top ten hit in 1997 with the single Australia, this seemed a one-off opportunity to combine their mutual love of the sport and the continent. The trio commented: “As massive rugby fans the chance to visit one of our favourite countries - play some gigs and watch the British and Irish Lions play Australia is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity. We can't wait to play a selection of our greatest hits to our Australian fans and the thousands of Lions fans travelling down under. It should be an amazing and memorable few shows.”

Joining The Manics on these shows will be Brisbane-quartet Hungry Kids Of Hungary. Following the February 2013 release of their highly anticipated sophomore release You’re A Shadow, the quartet have shown once again that they seamlessly distribute a melange of influences from blues, rock, soul, R&B and 1960s style pop-rock, all tied up in their trademark hooks and grasp of melody.

Alt-J at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney on 31 Jul 2013

Location: Hordern Pavilion

The Frontier Touring Company are delighted to confirm that acclaimed British outfit alt-J (∆) will be returning to Australia this July, continuing their love affair with our beautiful country.

It is clear that alt-J (∆)'s love for Australia is mutual - their Mercury prize winning debut An Awesome Wave (out now through Liberator Music) has been certified gold by ARIA and achieved its highest chart placement globally in Australia, peaking at #9 on the album chart earlier this year.

Adding to the critical acclaim and commercial success, tracks from An Awesome Wave made three appearances in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown of 2012, including an impressive 3rd place finish with Breezeblocks, a song described by NME as 'a delicate, macabre triumph'.

Whilst in the country, alt-J (∆) announced a surprise headline show at Sydney's Metro Theatre. In a similar fashion to their debut Australian performances in October last year, the show sold out in minutes. Those lucky enough to attend were treated to an intimate and polished set from the quartet

'From the sync'd lighting to the seamless audio, the band were in their element, flawlessly shifting from song to song without batting an eyelash, the crowd equally mesmerised and in a state of sub-hypnosis.' - Drum Media
'The guys have a rep for being perfectionists and it both shows and pays off in their live show. As the set navigated all of Mercury-winner An Awesome Wave's tracks, the carefully crafted choral harmonies and perfectly plucked melodies landed just right with the crowd.' - Time Out Sydney

With alt-J (∆)'s dedicated and loyal Australian following, and a tradition of selling out their shows in minutes, best be quick to snap up your tickets to see these incredibly talented music makers at work.
